MAGIC COUPON MACHINE COUPON

FYI!! I scanned my card at CVS today and received a $2.50 off $12 Razors, Blades or  Edge Shave Gel purchase. This should come in handy with the BOGO Edge Shave Gel coupon on coupons.com and the CVS deal I told you about earlier that begins on Sunday.

I have two cards and only got this on one of my cards. Your mileage may vary on this one!

DOLLAR TREE DEALS

I headed to the Dollar Tree today with my $1.50/2 coupons in my hand. I knew Dollar Tree always carries Hefty Bags and when I found this coupon, I went in search for some cheap Hefty bags.

What I found was  a box of 15 sandwich bags with a slider! This is important because the coupon specifically states $1.50/2 Hefty Slider bags of 15 or more. The bags are a perfect match!

You can find the coupon in the 11/11 RP and can get a box of 15 bags for $.25 each! I had three coupons and they let me do all of them in one transaction. Normally, they only allow two coupons per transaction. I plan on going through the store and checking out to see if there are any other deals to be had!

GOOD PRICE ON GRAPES

Like many of you, I am not a fan of Save-A-Lot. That store just doesn't do anything for me. But this week I will be making a visit there just to buy grapes!

Grapes have been $2.79 a lb., sometimes a little less. I just won't pay that. I'll eat another fruit and just wait patiently until they come down in price. Well, this is the week!

Beginning today, Wednesday thru next Tuesday, pick up grapes for $1.49 lb. I would prefer $.99 lb. like we see in the summer but I will be happy to be adding grapes to my lunchbox!!

I'll probably be also picking up some boring iceburg lettuce for $1.00 because it is the only kind of lettuce my husband will eat. There is no nutritional value in it at all! I also like the cherry tomatoes for $1.00 because they are kind of like grapes...just pop them in your mouth.

Be careful of the Rib Eye Steak at $4.99 lb. Ask if it is select grade, which I am sure it is. That grade of meat just isn't as tasty as choice.

BLINKIE ALERT

Be on the lookout for a new blinkie I spotted at Publix today. Make sure you pick up the $1/1 Pace Salsa blinkie. Wouldn't it be awesome if we had a bogo sale on top of the coupons?

My Publix trip was very uneventful today. There wasn't much I wanted but I did want to get to $30 to use my WD coupon. I had a few coupons to make things free or cheap so I decided to use those to bring up my total. I got 6 Frosting Creations, 2 Beech-Nut Fruities for free, rice for $.15, 4 cheap Rotel, 8 cheap taco seasoning, blueberries, bananas, juice and a few more things and my total was exactly $30. After coupons, I paid $11.

Then I headed over to WD to pick up my Pork Butt for $1.29 lb. and got 6 more razors for free with my raincheck. This time it worked perfectly. I had one more raincheck left and I gave that to my daughter. It will be interesting to see how her WD in Palm Coast handles it.

LOOK FOR PORK COUPONS AT APRONS CENTER

Be on the lookout for the $2 coupon for pork tenderloin. I found it by the aprons kitchen

They changed the coupon this year.   Instead of having it off just pork it is off a pork tenderloin. Last year I loaded up my freezer with pork using this coupon!!

Ok...last post as we enjoy our weekend getaway!

TARGET MARKDOWNS

You might want to check out the shoes at target today. I think markdowns were just taken to 70 percent off! I was able to get a cute pair of black and white flats for $4.48 and a pair of gold sequin flats for $12.48. My friend, Lisa, had these in silver and they were so comfortable and cute! After going to the jewelry show and seeing gold accessories everywhere, I bought them so I could be one step ahead of the game!

Also check out the clothing where more items were marked 70 percent off. I didn't have much time to browse the store in Yulee because we are headed to Fernandina Beach to go camping. Make sure you walk around all departments and find the deals I don't have time to look for!

CHEAP PONDS COLD CREAM

I love to take off my make-up with Ponds Cold Cream. I am still using the last of the jars I got dirt cheap at Walgreens about 3 years ago!

At the SR 16 Publix, there is a grocery cart by the pharmacy that is full of reduced items and Ponds Cold Cream is one of them. I was able to get the 10.1 oz. jar for $2.70. They still had plenty left and it should last a long time!

If you use this to get off your mascara at the end of the day, look at the various Publix stores to see if they have it. I will probably get another next time I go if there are any left. Unfortunately, there are no coupons to correspond with this.

RAZOR SCOOTER AT TARGET

If you are looking for a razor scooter for your child, head over to Target where they just reduced them to 50% off today.

The age on the box says 8+ years old but I think it can be used by a younger child. I think this particular model will hold more weight than the model for 5+ years.

It is a great deal at somewhere around $36. They had at least 4 in stock when I was in there this morning. They were also reducing some other items 70% off but I didn't see anything that really interested me. I kind of get the glazed over look when I am looking at boy toys. I just don't have any expertise in that area!

PULLED PORK FOR SUPERBOWL

I just got my WD ad and there is an awesome deal for Pork Putt this week. It kind of stinks because I just paid $1.99 a lb. at Publix!

Head to WD this week and pick up a pork butt for only $1.29 lb. I know we plan on making one Superbowl Sunday. I guess it has been kind of a tradition to make a pork butt and chicken wings! I also noticed their cantelopes are $1.99 each which is a great price also and cheaper than Publix this week.

I also saw Swai Fillets are $2.99 lb. Does anyone know what these are? I don't know if I am going to buy a fish I've never heard of!

WD Virginia or Honey Ham are $5.49 lb. also. That is a great deal for deli meat.

I'll try to redeem my BOGO razor coupons while I am there again. I had success at both stores north of town but not at the beach.

BEST PAINT

Are you looking to paint a room or rooms in your home to refresh for spring?

According to Consumer Reports, KILTZ CASUAL COLORS Satin Interior paint is a paint and primer in one with impressive one-coat hiding and stain resistance. At $27 per gallon, it outperformed pricer paints in their tests.

This is the paint that is going to be on my list when I am repainting my hallway.

NEW BOOKLET SPOTTED

Thanks to Kate for letting me know there were some new coupon books that showed up at the beach Publix yesterday.

The coupon booklet "Start Your Year Out With Big Savings" and "Get A Jump On Good Health" are both at that store. I remember getting an awesome deal on Kleenex Tissues with the coupon in the Big Savings book last year. Maybe we will see a great deal on them again this year.

COUPON CLASS AT NOCATEE

For the second year, Nocatee has invited me to come and speak about couponing and how to save buying groceries.

For those of you who know someone who lives at Nocatee, I will be doing a class there tomorrow night, Monday, January 21st, at the Nocatee Clubhouse at 7 pm. This coupon class is sponsored by Nocatee for all their residents.

Please mention this to anyone who lives there and tell them how much money you can save by couponing!

JUDI'S FAVORITE THINGS

Oprah has her favorite things...so I thought I would tell you about my favorite things. Because blogger is still having problems uploading pictures, I cannot attach a picture to this post. These are not in any order. Some of these are splurges and some are steals.

1. T3 HAIRDRYER – This is probably one of most favorite things. This is definitely a splurge at $200 each. I have had one for about 8 or 9 years now. I bought it at the beauty supply store and paid about $125 for it. It dries my hair in half the time and takes away the frizzies due to the technology built into it. It also is very lightweight which is nice when you have a lot of hair. Years later this was featured on Oprah’s Favorite Things, and of course, sales went through the roof! Since then, when they started mass producing it in China, the quality of it has gone way downhill. They no longer sell them now in the professional beauty supply shops. You have to get them at Macy’s, Ulta, and other stores. The best part is that they carry a two-year warranty so if you have any problems they send you a brand new one. The one that I have now has been having issues but it was over the two-year warranty. I called and they are sending me a new one for $40 plus $15 S&H. That was a bargain! I am still anxiously waiting for my new hairdryer to get here. In the meantime, I bought another hairdryer at the professional beauty supply which was 50% off because they were no longer going to carry it. It was originally $70 and I got it for $35. This was just about two weeks ago. Such a deal…until I just saw it a few days ago at Marshalls for $24.99!! I like it but it doesn’t dry my hair fast like the T-3. It is just like any other hairdryer without the tourmaline technology. ..BUT it is very light and I do like it. This would be one to consider if you are looking for a professional grade hairdryer at a fraction of the cost. It is called the GEM FORCE hairdryer. This is a steal.
2. BAMBOO SHEETS – This is now a must in my bedroom. I was introduced to these when I worked at Lighthouse Interiors and never looked back! Once you try these, you will never go back to another set or type of sheets! The best part is about once a year Tuesday Morning has a sale on them and gets them in. You can buy a set of king for $79. I will be there on February 10th getting my set and placing it in my stockpile!! Yes, when I can get these sheets for $79 I get an extra set and save them until I need them. I turned my friend Lisa on to these and now she is as addicted as me. This is a steal!
3. HOBO WALLET – I got this wallet from my kids for Christmas last year and it is my absolute favorite! I know you can get them at Dillard’s. It’s hard to explain so you will just have to go and search them out next time you go shopping. It sells for just over $100 although they bought mine on clearance. This is a splurge!
4. ELF FACE PRIMER – If you have never used face primer before, you have to try it. This is only $6 at Target so it is definitely a steal! It kind of puts a layer between your skin and makeup and makes your makeup go on so smoothly and makes it last longer. I have never tried any other expensive primer. I am not willing to pay for it. I also use Estee Lauder Double Wear Makeup for my special occasions and I love that also.
5. CLARISONIC FACIAL BRUSH – I got this for Christmas last year and I use it two times a day. This is definitely a splurge because it costs $225. I got the model with four speeds and a body attachment. When I don’t use this on my face for a few days I really notice a difference. My makeup wants to drag going on. It really removes all the dead skin from your face.

6. I-PAD – I know most people have these but I just got one about 6 months ago and I absolutely love it! I sit with it every night on my lap and my finger never stops moving!
7. WET AND WILD LIP PENCIL – This was something I saw years ago on the Today Show when a makeup artist was on. It is color number 666 and it goes with everyone’s skin color and matches most lipstick. I like to line my lips with a faint line before I put by lipstick/gloss on just because it looks better. This is definitely a steal at $.99 each.

8. PUBLIX - Of course, this list would not be complete without adding Publix to it. This was confirmed after my recent trip to Winn Dixie this past week doing the razor deal!

That is all I can think of right now at the top of my head. These are just the few things that I use everyday in my life that I really love. Just thought I would pass it along!

$4 OFF $20 COUPON

Make sure to check your email for a $4 off $20 purchase at CVS. I am going to see if I can put this coupon to use with little OOP this week. I really didn't see much for me and since I don't worry about the expiration dates of my ECB's, it is just as easy to let them roll and wait for something I really want to use.

Make sure to check with your store to see if they will let you use expired ECB's. I still have some in my wallet from December 23, 2012 that I haven't used yet. I am using one of them on the Irish Spring Soap next week. That is my husbands favorite soap. Now I just have to find two extra $1/1 coupons that will be in the upcoming SS!

GENUNG'S FISH CAMP

My husband told me about a Oyster Roast at a local fish camp that I thought was blogworthy to pass along. He was able to tell me enough information to make it blogworthy. He heard about it from a woman he  counts with  at church  and she had just gone there.

It is at Genung's Fish Camp which is south of 206 where the old Crescent Beach Bridge was. It is on Saturday night at 6 pm during oyster season. I've always been told that oyster season is any month with an "R" in it. Don't quote me on that one. For $25 per person you will get all you can eat and drink. He didn't know the whole menu but knew oysters, smoked fish dish, beer and wine were part of the all you can eat and drink.

She said they had a blast there! It might be worth checking out if you love oysters and don't want to go through all the trouble to clean and steam them yourself. My husband said he was going to go down on Saturday afternoon and check it out. If I get any other information, I will pass it along!

CHEAP SOY SAUCE

This coupon comes around every year. Now is when I pick up my cheap soy sauce and add to my stockpile.

Go HERE to print your coupon. The best part is there is also another link to get this coupon. Go HERE to get the second set of coupons. That means you will have 4 coupons from just one computer.

You can also get free marinade if you choose to go that route.

NO TARGET MARKDOWN YET

I went to Target this morning to see if the big 70% off markdown has hit yet. The answer is NO!! I expect it to hit our store this week. Unfortunately I am working tomorrow so I won't be able to go. I will try to go back on Friday if I have time to see if it hit our store.

Make sure you check around the whole store for deals.

PICTURE PROBLEMS

For a few weeks now I have been having problems uploading pictures on this blog. I have done everything I know how to do. I researched it and apparently I am not the only one having this problem.

Blogger seems to be having some issues and until they get it fixed I will be unable to upload any pictures. Bear with me as I work through this and hopefully it won't be too much longer before they figure it out

BEACH STORE PUBLIX

My husband came home from work today and told me someone at work asked HIM a coupon question. Imagine that. Asking him a coupon question. The funny thing was is that he knew the answer!

The girl had told him she had been to the beach Publix and was told she couldn't use more than one $5/$30 WD coupons because they had a new manager and that is his rule. He told her that she would have to split her order but then told her what I would have said...find another store.

It appears that the manager can make that rule on a per store basis. Now that the manager of SR 16 is no longer there, they are now accepting more than one coupon so I will go back to shopping there. He is now at Moultrie. Does anyone have that problem with that store.

I would love to hear from you as to what your store is making you do. I was at the beach store today but only got my total to $32 so I only used one coupon. Now I am curious because if they are going to make me split my order, I will just take my business elsewhere to a store that won't make me.

MY UNPLEASANT WD EXPERIENCE

Why would I expect anything different? I ran into the beach WD store today to grab some free razors with my raincheck and my BOGO coupons. Note the key word "free" here. That is what they were supposed to be.

The girl only wanted to give me $4 off for a coupon even though the coupon states up to $7.99 max value. She was trying to tell me I was only paying $4 each for the razors and they couldn't give me back any money. I told her I understood that and I didn't want any money back but because they were BOGO and I had a BOGO coupon, they should be free. She first agreed with me but then would only give me $4 for a coupon instead of the $7.99.

I got tired of arguing with her and mumbled under my breath "That is why I shop at Publix". I couldn't help it. It just slipped out. She didn't care. I'll go to the other WD on US1 where they actually will give you the item free with the BOGO coupon.

She also questioned my raincheck because it was on a copied raincheck form. Apparently they ran out of forms and made a copy. Again, not my fault and she questioned the copied raincheck. At first I said "nevermind, I will go to the other store" but she said she would take it and then we got into the above mentioned mess. She said you have to go back to the store you got the raincheck from to get that item. No where on the raincheck form does it say that. I think she just made it up.

ROLD GOLD BLINKIE

I am hoping there are some more cheap canned tomatoes in our future. Right now there is a blinkie machine in front of the Rold Gold Tomatoes for $1/2. The last time this happened, they went BOGO a few weeks later. By then the blinkie machine will be gone.

Make sure you stop by the canned vegetables isle and grab a few and save for hopefully an upcoming BOGO sale. There also is a blinkie for $1/1 French's French Fried Onion Rings right near that one. You can get the small container for $1.31 after the blinkie.

Also, right in front of the store there stands the display for the Best Meals Happen at Home Coupons. Right now you can grab Knoor Pasta Sides for just $.25 each using the BOGO sale and a $1/2 coupon found in front of the store. These are a great thing to have on hand if you need something quick!

Grab a raincheck if they are out of any of the flavors you are looking for!

SUNSHINE SHOP

Head over to The Sunshine Shop to check out their new 2013 bathing suits and cover-ups. This is the time of year when you want to think about buying your bathing suit for the upcoming season. All the new arrivals are coming in and you have the best selection.

They also have several new colorful lines that came in that will get you excited for the warm weather. Wait a minute...it is already warm!

They even have new cover-ups that have the sunscreen built right in.

I'll try to get some pictures up as soon as I figure out why they won't upload!

BETSY JOHNSON NIGHTIE AT MARSHALL'S

February 14th is just around the corner and you know what that means! That's right...Valentines Day!

You might want to head over to Marshall's to pick up this cute little number my husband found for me! It is a Betsy Johnson item and if you know Betsy Johnson her pieces are not cheap but they are very nice.  The best thing about this nightie is that it is the most comfortable thing I have ever slept in. The fabric is absolutely amazing!

It is pink underneath with a black layer over the top. It is just slightly see-through and is my new favorite nightie! It has a retail price of $79 on it but it is only 19.99 at Marshall's.   had one of every size left in stock i am in love with it so much that I went back and bought another size medium to have a back-up when this one gives out!

You will love it and I guarantee your husband will love it too! Don't wait too long or there won't be any left.

I seem to be having technical difficulties uploading pictures.  As soon as I get it figured out I'll upload it!

BEAlLS OUTLET

Head over to Bealls Outlet to get some great deals on Tommy Bahama items. I saw everything from dresses, cover-ups, suits, sheets, and quilts.  Keep in mind that there are limited  quantities of each item. Some items may only have just a couple left in stock.

If you can find your color or size, you may be able to find a great deal!

I got a Tommy Bahama Tunic with a price tag of $97 for $24. The best part is it has pockets!

I find some random good things there from time to time. It's always just a fun place to go to see what you can find.  I also bought a harmonica for one of my grandkids for $4.49. I can't decide which one will get it. Whoever gets it I'm sure their mother will surely thank me for it. I plan on getting the grandmother of the year award for this act of kindness!

BUCA DE BEPPO COUPONS

I have only been to this restaurant once but I remember I really liked it.

Go HERE to print a coupon for Buca de Beppo for Buy Any Lunch Item, Get One Free and/or $10 off any $20 purchase. The BOGO lunch coupon is only good Monday - Friday only. I don't see any restrictions on the other coupon.

The coupon expires 1/23/13.

TARGET CLEARANCE

I stopped in the Target in Ponte Vedra today to check out their toy section. There were signs up saying 30% off but when I checked the price I noticed it was really 50% off. I was able to get several La La Loopsie items and a boy toy that I really had a hard time picking out! I do much better with girl toys!

If you happen to go in to see the toy deals, make sure you scan the item to see if it has been reduced further.

All the Marc Jacobs items were reduced 70% off but there were still a ton of it left. They also had nice looking blazers that were $29 that were 70% off. There was a Niemen Marcus tag inside it so I guess that drives up the price!

Walk around the store and see all the clearance. I didn't have enough time to do the whole store but there is still plenty of clearance left!

FREE BEECH-NUT FRUITIES

Beech-Nut Fruities To Go are $.99 at Publix. When you use the $1 coupon from HERE you will get it for FREE.

CHEAP PIZZA

Here is a good deal for you if your family loves pizza.

DiGiorno Pizza is on sale this week at Publix for $4.99. Use the B2G1 coupon from coupons.com and stack with the $1/2 PQ in the Simply Delicious Inspirations book and get 3 pizzas for only $3 each.

I was at the Vilano Beach store this afternoon and they had the books in the roundabout by the front door. There are a few other good Publix coupons in there as well! If you are out make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the books

CHEAP MAKEUP

If you haven't done either of the Contour Meters yet at CVS and you already have ECB's then you are missing out.

I did it again today with the Bayer Contour Meter on sale for $9.99. It is also giving $9.99 in ECB's. I used the $5 coupon plus $10 in ECB's and bought that plus another Physician's Formula Item. They will automatically deduct $5 off at the register. The product I bought had a $3 peelie on it so my final oop was $2.04 AND I got back another $9.00 in ECB's.

The Physician's Formula product I bought was normally $14.79. That is what I call a win-win situation. I got my ECB's back and I get to try a product really, really cheap!

I bought the last Bayer Meter so I got a raincheck. When I go to buy it again, they will force the ECB's to print so it won't make any difference if there was a limit of one!

MY NEW LOVE CAULIFLOWER

I told you about the cauliflower pizza I made last week.  It was absolutely amazing! I'll see if I can get a picture posted.

I just found another recipe for my best new friend vegetable, cauliflower. It is called Cauliflower Buffalo Bites. Simply mix 1 cup of flour with 1 cup of water and 2 tsp of garlic powder. Dredge cauliflower pieces in flour mixture and place on baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 20 minutes. Top with Franks Hot Sauce and bake another 5 minutes. Adjust the amount of flour and water you need based on how much cauliflower you are making. This makes just over 6 cups.

Doesn't that sound absolutely delicious! I'll be buying some more cauliflower and making these bad boys as soon as possible.  I will let you know when I do!

CHEAP MEATLESS PRODUCTS

I was lucky enough today to get 6 packages of Gardein Meatless Burger using the $1/1 coupon and the BOGO sale at Winn Dixie. There was only two bags left at one store and a peelie on one bag. They said some lady came in and wiped them out. The good thing was I was able to get a rain check. If I can find them at another store with the peelie on them, I will be able to get them for $1.19 each, which is about $.30 per burger!

If you didn't get this deal at Winn Dixie, print the coupon and hold for a sale   Maybe we will see a BOGO sale at Publix!

FREE RAZORS IN OUR FUTURE?

You may have noticed an awesome coupon in today's smartsource. It is for Bic Razors and it is a BOGO coupon. Every year I get my razors for free...yes, totally free. I am anticipating there is going to be a sale soon so I am ordering my coupons now.  Apparently others have the same idea because kuntryklippers is already sold out.

I have a bid for 20 on e-bay for $2.62 but I went ahead and ordered 20 of them already for $3.49. I guess that means they are not free, but they are $.17 each. After I use my $5/$30 coupon they will be free!!

If you want to be one step ahead of the game, go ahead and order your coupons now. I have seen them for as much as $.40 to $.50 per coupon. Don't pay that price!! You can get them off e-bay or order from lorihas3kids.com where she has them for $5 for 20 coupons.

I still have rainchecks from Winn Dixie where they wrote them as BOGO so I shouldn't have a problem getting them for free there also if Publix does not pull through with a sale. I am sure they will though as they do every year at this time.

CVS CLEARANCE

While I was at CVS today I picked up a few deals that were 75 percent off to use for white elephant gifts for next Christmas. I was able to get a wine opener and a foot spa normally $20 for $5 each. I also got this really cool popcorn maker that looks like the kind you see at Prospierty Bank but not as tall. I'm keeping that because I thought the grandkids would get a kick out of it. It was normally $59 and I got it for $14.99.

Stop by your local CVS to see what items they have. There were also cards, tags ornaments, bags and other misc. stuff!

ANOTHER METER DEAL AND FREE DISHWASHER DETERGENT

Here is another MM for you at CVS. The Bayer Contour meter is $9.99 and you get back $9.99 in ECB's. Use the $5/1 coupon from HERE to reduce the cost down. Use any ECB's you have to bring your total down to $0 and get back $10 in ECB's!!

I forgot those coupons so I will have to go back tomorrow and do that deal.

Don't forget to put those monitors with all your vitamins and donate them!!

While you are at CVS, use the $2.15 coupon from today's SS and pay $1.85 for a box of Finish Dishwasher Detergent. You could use your overage from the deal above to get some free dishwasher detergent!

MY CVS SHOPPING TRIP

My trip to CVS this morning became complicated when I used the wrong card and bought the Bayer Monitor in separate transactions with the same card. The monitors are usually $41.99 and on sale for $9.99 and then they are giving a $9.99 ECB. When you use the $7 coupon found HERE, you can actually make money. I took that opportunity to buy some Physicians Formula BB Cream. Every PF item is ringing up $5 off plus there was a peelie for $3 on the BB Cream I was purchasing.

So for the BB Cream and the monitor, after using $9 in ECB's also along with the above coupons, I paid $2.44. Not bad for an item that is normally $15.79!

On my second transaction, I thought I gave my other card but I obviously didn't when it didn't produce an ECB at the end. I walked out the door and realized when I walked out that I didn't get that ECB or the $17 for purchasing 2 ROC Cleansers. I went back in and she put the monitor on my other card and gave me the $10 ECB. The ROC Cleansers I thought may be a problem.

They were $10.99 each and I used my $4/$20 CVS coupon. The ad said you would get $17 ECB's when you purchase ANY 2 ROC FACIAL CARE PRODUCTS. The ECB didn't print. She told me they probably didn't mean to give ECB's on that product because of the price but she forced it through.

The final outcome on that card was I paid $2.30 OOP and got back $17 and $10 in ECB's...SCORE!!!

DON'T BE FOOLED BY A NAME

I found this in a Consumer Reports Magazine. I don't know about you but I pretty much trust what they say. They test hundreds of products and their word is good enough for me.

In their laundry detergent tests, Martha Stewart Clean 2X liquid laundry detergent was only marginally better than water alone at removing soils. Tide Ultra Plus Bleach came out on top of the laundry pile in their tests.

I would like to be a fly on the wall when good ol' Martha sees that bit of information!

The other bit of information I thought was interesting was about chickens. Consumer Reports tested 382 whole chickens from 51 brands for incidence of contamination from salmonella and campylobacter bacteria. I don't know what that second thing is but it sure sounds bad! The three major brands, Perdue, Tyson, and Foster Farms all had contamination - but Perdue was the cleanest. The most contaminated were Tyson and Foster Farms.

To kill the bacteria, always make sure you cook your chicken to 165 degrees.

Most of us buy eggs on a regular basis. For most foods the expiration date indicates the last day the food should be eaten. Eggs are an exception. Federally graded fresh eggs in their shells are safe for three to five weeks after the expiration date on the carton, as long as you keep them refrigerated.

Do you remember as a kid making hard boiled eggs on Easter and leaving them out on the counter and eating them? I don't think our family was the only one who did this. I don't think I would do that now!

And finally, let's talk toilets. Do you want to get rid of a stubborn ring in your toilet? Apparently you can cut a piece of Magic Eraser and just drop it in your toilet overnight and it will clean that stubborn ring. Who knew?

NEW YEARS AT MY HOUSE

Hope everyone had a Happy New Year. We had an eventful New Year and it was just doors from our house.

We didn't plan on doing anything. I don't like to go out with all the crazy people. I just want to stay home. We got a call from some friends to go to the beach blast so we decided to go. All went well and we went to bed with neighbors shooting fireworks which seemed way past midnight.

At 2:35 my dog woke me up to go out. Nothing was unusual at that time. At 3:00 am I felt my husband get out of bed and when I opened my eyes I could see the police lights outside our bedroom window. We went downstairs and tried to figure out what was going on in the dark.

There were three police cars there and a big fire truck pulled up as we were standing out there. We still didn't know what was happening. Come to find out a car was going around the curve and missed it. Sound familiar? That same thing just happened in front of the Alligator Farm and took the lives of a young married couple.

The car should have made that curve. That is the corner of my lawn in the bottom corner. If a car had been parked there, she would have taken it out. Notice the white house in the background? That is where the car landed.

Along the way it took out a few trees. This is just one of them.

The truck continued and that clump of trees at the end stopped the truck.

It ended up hitting that tree. The tree prevented the truck from hitting the bedroom where Katie and her baby were sleeping. The airbags deployed because it hit so hard. She left the scene of the accident. They ended up finding her using K-9's and found her by the Bridge of Lions. I took these pictures the next morning. They ended up towing her truck that night. Needless to say she was drunk and driving.

Sorry the pictures are sideways. I didn't know how to rotate them!
