Go to http://www.cvs.com/ and click on medicare in the left column. Take the medicare quiz and then print off your coupon. You can print as many as you want. Take the quiz again a few days later and it will print out an expiration date a few days later. Carry these with you so you will always be prepared when you go shopping!

I have to always hit the print button twice because nothing prints the first time.

WALGREENS FREE ELECTRASOL/FINISH NEXT WEEK

It looks like it is time to stock up on dishwashing detergent again! Next week Walgreens will have the Electrasol/Finish tabs on sale for $3.50, and it will produce a $1.00 Register Reward. There is supposed to be a $2.50 manufacturer's coupon in this Sundays paper, so it will end up being FREE.

Some people may wonder why you save your inserts. If you had this insert from a few months back, you could have gone to Walgreens all month long and "bought" this Bayer Contour Moniter for FREE! I don't use these but the best part was just for going in and "buying" it, I received a $5 Register Reward. I had 3 coupons so I scored $15 in RR to start off my new year. I will roll those over into new deals in the next week! Not bad for $0 OOP!!!

I needed to get a few items today before my coupons expired. The breakfast sausage normally $3.79 was one of the deals. I paid $.89 each so I stocked up and bought 6! The Chex Mix was FREE + OVERAGE. I would have bought more but I am only printing off two computers instead of my usual 5! The Juicy Juice is for the grandkids. I already have 6 that I paid $1.00 each so I added to that stock. Yesterday at Target I bought a 64 oz. Motts Apple Juice for $.79. My daughter loves it!

We are having family over for an oyster roast tomorrow. I already bought the ham on sale so I only had to buy hash browns for the potato casserole (got my sour cream FREE weeks ago and cheddar cheese real cheap), rolls, and scallions for my Bacon Cheddar Dip. I already have the FREE cream cheese I got weeks ago and FREE crackers in my stockpile. I am making a dessert from my other cream cheese and items in my pantry and I am DONE!

WALGREENS MAKE-UP DEAL - PAID $2.32

I had register rewards that were going to expire in two days so I decided to have fun at Walgreens. I needed mascara, concealer and blush so I put together this deal and only spent $2.32 OOP...not bad for 4 concealers that are normally $10.49 each, 2 blush, 1 mascara, 1 lip liner and 1 newspaper!

PUBLIX TRIP - NOT $65.12 - I PAID $27.17

I had to do the Frosted Mini Wheats deal because a box of cereal only costs $.10 each! When I can get cereal for $.10 each, I take that as an opportunity to stock up. The cereal has a date on it of over one year away. This assures me that I won't have to buy any for awhile when I add it to the stockpile of cereal I already have. I stocked up on the Juicy Juice because I paid $.50 each so I bought 6. The soy sauce was $.40 each so that was added to my stockpile as well. I had to buy some items I normally don't buy, but I needed them for New Years. It was a cold day today so I bought some items to make Tortelinni Soup and cornbread for dinner!

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT...ANOTHER PRIME RIB!

I know some of you are going to laugh, but I went to Publix again and bought another Prime Rib! I misplaced my receipt so I can't give you the particulars, but I know I paid less for ALL my groceries and prime rib than the cost of the prime rib alone. I actually gave that one to my parents so they could enjoy one also!

I had to run into Publix today to get the Benefiber Raspberry Tea because the coupon expired today. I ended up buying...

2 pkgs. Craisens (great for oatmeal cookies!)

My bill really should have been cheaper but I forgot to give them a coupon for $5 and they did not have a few items I needed that would have brought my total down lower. That is OK...I still saved and best of all added prime rib number three to my already packed freezer!

BLACK BEANS BOGOF AT PUBLIX UNADVERTISED SPECIAL

It has been reported that Bush's Black Beans are an unadvertised BOGO at Publix stores this week. If you use the $.55/2 from the "Celebrate Nocha Buena" coupon booklet found in-store, you'll pay only $.22 for TWO cans! That is what I call a stock up price!

My husband suggested I put on some of the pictures I take and show to the class and put them on the blog so people can "see" the deals I get. So, with that being said, here are a few of them.

HOMEMADE LAUNDRY DETERGENT

For those of you who wanted the homemade laundry detergent, here it is. It only costs about $.03 per load and gets your clothes just as clean.

1/3 bar Fels Naptha Soap
1/2 cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda
1/2 cup 20 Mule Team Borax

Grate the soap and put in a saucepan. Add 6 cups water and heat it until the soap melts. Add the washing soda and the borax and stir until it is dissolved. Remove from the heat. Pour 4 cups hot water into the bucket. Now add your soap mixture and stir. Add 1 gallon plus 6 cups of water and stir. Let the soap mixture sit for 24 hours and it will gel. Stir well and use 1/2 cup per load

So after my awsome Publix trip, I stopped for a quick trip to CVS. I bought:

Of course, I answered "Yes" and went on my merry way. Little did I know he was 2 people behind me in the checkout lane (bad move on his part!) Well, Thanksgiving is over and it seems to be a slow week at Publix. That is good for me because I really don't need anything. I will just be picking up the FREE items and my basics because I already have everything in my stockpile that I paid a price I was happy to pay!!

Learning to shop differently allows me to only buy what I want when it is at its lowest price in the sales cycle. Knowing I have everything I need at home, I will probably only spend about $15 at the most this week for my groceries! We will be eating lasagna, chicken marsalla, pot roast, chicken cutlets, and homemade soup and salad on one of those cold evenings. ENJOY!!
