MY PUBLIX SHOPPING TRIP

I was thrilled when I walked into Publix today to see the Sunlight Dish Soap fully stocked on the shelf. That meant I would be getting 7 of them for FREE! My only item I "needed" was potato rolls for my nephews that are going to be staying with me for the weekend. Other than that, I just picked up the good deals. As fate would have it, I noticed when I got home I forgot to grab the GAF to give them the $1 coupon for the Cover Girl. This is what I bought:

4 Mueller Yogurt - (paid $.25 each)

My final total was $5.76 but it should have been $4.76!!! I have several donation items from this trip and glad to have the dish detergent added to my stockpile!

My fresh green beans and potato rolls alone were just over $6 so that means everything else in my cart I paid nothing for. Got to LOVE couponing!

PUBLIX 9/9/12, SPENT $23.19

My Publix shopping trip was very uneventful. Nothing really stood out for me this ad except the Smart Balance Milk. I LOVE this milk! Now that I bought 10 of them (with a November 7 expiration date), I am going to go on an oatmeal kick for breakfast which uses a cup of milk and 1/2 cup of regular oats. Some will also go to my daughters. How could you pass up $1 a 1/2 gallon of milk. In case you are wondering, I ordered $1.50/1 milk coupons last week when I got my All Laundry Detergent coupons. That is why I paid $1. This is everything I bought:

My cashier was a young guy who wasn't paying attention to anything. He was scanning my coupons and some of them didn't go through. It was a good thing I was watching. One of my Franks Red Hot Sauce coupons didn't go through and he gave it back to me saying "it won't work". A few coupons later I told him to try it again and it worked. He did the same with my bacon coupons. One worked, one didn't. I had him just give it to me to bring up to the office.

I only brought 5 of my milk coupons with me. I guess I thought I would go back but I just wanted to go today and not have to go back to Publix. I went up to the customer service desk not only to get my $1 that wouldn't scan (and yes it did scan up there) but to have the manager write on my receipt that I could bring back my five $1.50 coupons. My total at the register was $31.69 but I got back $1 and will get back another $7.50 so everything above costs me $23.19.

I didn't intend on doing much of anything this week at Publix even though my refrigerator looks completly empty since it all went down my garbage disposal. By the way, I learned the hard way never to do that again. That little episode cost me $125 and the appliance repairman cost $125 so I was down $250 within a couple of hours!

The deal that pulled me to Publix today was the Oscar Mayer Deli Meat deal. My husband and I make sandwiches for lunch about 3-4 days a week. We can go through some deli meat. New MQ's surfaced today and when stacked with the PQ and the current sale, you paid $2.99 for a lb. of deli meat. My choice was the Rotisserie Chicken and Smoked Turkey Breast. Getting free cookies wasn't bad either although I didn't intend to keep them.  I called my daughter Lindsay (who had now been gone a full 24 hours after moving her back to college yesterday), and asked her what kind of cookie would she like since I can get them for free. “Mom, I don’t want any cookies” was her response. Of course, her two roommates were within earshot and quickly told her cookies would be welcome and to get the Chips Ahoy Chewy! I was able to get a second Stocking Up book from my father so I had two $1/1 coupons! This is what I bought:

PUBLIX 7/30/12, SPENT $59.79, SAVED 67%

My Publix trip today was more about stocking up on certain items getting ready to send my daughter back to school with. My stash of Ziplock sandwich bags were LOW so the sale of $2/3 and then using the $1/2 MQ and $1/2 YAF coupon to make them $.50 a box was great. I bought the last ones on the shelf and then got a raincheck to use next week before the YAF coupon expires.

We just pulled in the driveway today from camping at Sebastian Inlet in Melbourne and literally two minutes later the sky opened up! I waited for it to clear some before I went to the Cobblestone  Publix. My cashier was Joyce, the real nice black woman, and she asked for my coupons beforehand. OK...no problem and I handed them to her. She proceeded to lay them all out and started scanning, matching the coupons with the items. I had no problem with it because everything I had matched perfectly but I thought she was going to take the coupon amount off when she scanned it. That would have messed up my total of over $100 so I could use three $5/$30 coupons. She ended up scanning my coupons at the end but it sure was a pain.

My total before coupons was $110 and after coupons was $59.79. This is what I bought for just under $60.

Even though I was able to stock up on juice, granola bars, ziplock bags, soap and milk, I still hate that I paid almost $60 for all this. It's a good thing I don't need meat right now (especially since there is NO room in my freezer). What's even worse is the news that meat prices are going up along with produce prices. The steak that costs $12 now will be $14 because of the drought that is affecting the corn crops. Gas prices are supposed to go up again as well. When is this all supposed to end? I don't think it ever will so that is why we try to save with coupons!

I already used my $3/2 CoverGirl coupons in Melbourne this past weekend. I was able to take a $60 bill down to $25 using my overage and two $5/$30. Don't you just love those coupons!!

PUBLIX 6/27/12, SPENT $15.44

I really didn't need much at Publix but it seemed like I was in the store forever! It takes so much longer when you keep running into people that you know and stop to talk! The Magnum Ice Cream Treats were the star in my cart today. They were on sale 2/$6 and I had two $2/1 MQ's and two $1.25/1 so Publix gave me $.50 to take two boxes out of the store! I bought the mint variety and I am so excited to try them! Look in your binders to see if you have any left. The store coupons were hanging right by the front entrance.

PUBLIX 6/23/12, SPENT $40.26, SAVED 70%

I spent more than I wanted to at Publix today but considering my total was $92 before coupons, I saved over 70% with the sales and coupons. I read the Advil coupon wrong and realized it after I left the store. I had $2 peelies that were for 20 ct. and over. I read the coupon as being any Advil PM and regular Advil over 32 ct. With that being said, I bought 4 Advil PM using the GAF and four $2 peelies.

. I had to leave for a hair appointment 10 minutes after I walked in the door so no picture this time. I had to get the refrigerated stuff away and fly out the door! This is what I bought:

My total was $40.26 but it should have been $39.26. I grabbed the wrong MQ for the crackers and it expired three days earlier. My good coupon was home on my desk! Darn, don't you just hate when that happens! All said, I don't think it was that bad considering my cherries were almost $5! I won't be doing that again any time soon! I'll wait for them to come down to $1.99 lb. I got a ton of fresh veggies and then stopped at the produce stand behind WD at SR 207 and bought tomatoes, zuchhini, nectarines all for $.99 lb. I won't pay the price Publix wants for peaches and nectarines. Your better buys are at the local produce stands.

I really didn't expect to spend that much this week but I've added more toilet paper and laundry detergent to my stockpile plus I'm good for Advil/Advil PM until 2014!!
