WALGREENS L'OREAL DEAL

I love tinted moisturizer and I found this deal at Walgreens. L'Oreal Tinted Moisturizer normally sells for $19.99 and it was on clearance (look for the bright orange tags) for $10.49. On top of that they were BOG1 50% off. I had two $2 coupons and two $5 RR's to use so my scenerio went like this:

2 L'Oreal Tinted Moisturizer $10.49 x 2
Less 50% off minus $5.25
2 Filler Candy Bars $.78
Less 2/$2 Q's minus $4.00
Less 2/$5 RR minus $10.00

TOTAL SPENT OOP $3.51 for two moisturizers that normally sell for $39.98!! The only way this would have been a better deal is if I got RR's back! But I had so many RR's to use I consider it a win-win situation!!

I also had a $2 RR expiring in two days so I bought another Skintimate Shaving Gel for $2.99 and used my $2 RR and paid $1.17 OOP and got back $3 RR.

**A special thanks to my good friend Michelle T. for giving me her $2 L'Oreal Coupons and BOGO Silk Soy Milk Q's!!

UPDATE: I used the Moisturizer this morning and I loved it! It will be great for the summer when you want a little color but don't want to put make-up on. It also has SPF 12!

A QUICK TRIP TO PUBLIX, SPENT $13.99, SAVED 84%

I ran into Publix to pick up a few things and had to leave before I was finished. So I was only able to pick up these items. Missing from the picture are 3 Borden Cheese (yes, more cheese). They are not in the picture because I gave them away before I got home to take the picture!

Also in the picture is my adorable granddaughter, Addison!!

This trip included:

2 Digiorno Pizzas
2 Silk Soy Milk
2 Juicy Juice
6 Rice-A-Roni
Ground Chuck
3 Borden Cheese
2 McCormick Garlic Powder

You will have to sign in first before you can print the coupons!

POSSIBLE NEW DEALS??

I rarely look at Winn Dixie's ad because their prices are always higher than Publix. But I did notice this week Classico Pasta Sauce is BOGO. Not all Winn Dixie stores will allow you to do this, but if yours does, stack the BOGO Q with the sale for FREE Classico Sauce! This will only work if the white sauce is included in the sale. If not, use the $1.50/2 Q if you really need. If the white sauce is not included, I think we could wait for a better sale.

Speaking of Winn Dixie...Last week Publix had Cheese Its BOGO for $3.99. Winn Dixie's price is $4.39 BOGO this week. That is $.40 for one item. Multiply that times everything else in your cart and you will see WD is higher on almost everything.

Also, I have to check it out this weekend, but Edwards Singles Desserts may be on rollback at Walmart for $1.00. If you are lucky enough to have any $1 coupons left over from last week, you may get FREE or cheap Edwards Singles.

If anyone goes to Walmart this weekend, check out the price of the Edwards and let me know!

SUNSCREEN DEAL AT CVS

I started out with $5 ECB's and bought 2 CVS brand sunscreen. I paid $.67 each including the tax and received another $5 ECB's back! It was a great way to roll my ECB and get some 30 SPF sunscreen to carry in my purse. Anyone who knows me knows I always wear sunscreen!

I found these at the SR 16 store in the back on an endcap by the restroom. They were not on the shelf with the other sunscreen. I also bought 2 big packages of Scott Paper Towels on sale for $4.99 each minus my 2 $1.00 coupons. Great deal on paper towels!

CVS 4/27/10

This was not my original plan but I had to come up with plan B when some of my items were out-of-stock. I did this in two separate transactions and started out with $5 RR for each one. I paid $1.40 each OOP for each one. I LOVE the Ponds Cleanser to take off my makeup at night. I also received two $3 RR's back! I now am down to $40 in RR!

CHEESE, CHEESE, AND MORE CHEESE, SPENT $1.60

Cheese, Cheese and more Cheese!! My coupons expired on Friday so I hit 2 stores today to redeem them. I plan on giving some away and the rest I plan to save in my outside refrigerator because they don't expire for over a year! I spent $1.60 for 14 packages of cheese, 2 bananas, and a can of refried beans. I bought the bananas and refried beans because I felt guilty going through the checkout and paying nothing! Plus, now I see some banana bread in my future!

DON'T FORGET YOUR LOCAL FARMERS MARKET - PRICE COMPARISON VERSUS WALMART

I went to our local farmers market this morning to pick up a few things from the local produce people. That was the first thing to do on my long list of errands. Also on my list was a much dreaded trip to Walmart. I have not shopped there in forever and have not missed it one bit. After getting my cart from the lady who could have a family of four living in her hair, I proceeded about 20 feet and realized my cart did not want to make a left turn...so back to the lady with the hair to exchange my cart. I am always amazed when I see people with their carts filled up to the brim with groceries and chuckle because they think they are saving so much over the grocery store. I used to be one of them! The key word there is "used to be". Thank you Lord I am not anymore! I am now a satisfied loyal Publix shopper.

At this point you are probably wondering how this relates to the local farmers market! I decided to price match everything I bought at the market this morning with walmart's everyday low prices (LOL). Here is my list. The first price is Walmart's price and the 2nd is what I paid at the market.

Green Peppers $ .78 EACH... 3 FOR $1.00
Zucchini $2.48 LB.... $.99 LB.
Roma Tomatoes $1.98 LB.... $1.50 LB.
Regular Tomatoes $2.88 LB.... $1.50 LB.
Honeydew Melon $3.00... $3.00
Corn on Cob $ .50 each... $ .50 each

So you can see from the few items listed that Walmart DOES NOT always offer the best prices. The same goes for cereal, oatmeal, canned veggies, frozen veggies, laundry detergent, diapers (when I stack coupons), etc. For example, Quaker Instant Oatmeal sells for $3.79 at Publix and $2.54 at Walmart. This is where people think they are getting the better deal at Walmart. But they are wrong! I don't buy it at Publix when it is $3.79...I wait until it goes BOGO, use my coupons, and it is cheaper than I can buy it at Walmart everyday. If I had $1.00 coupons and used those coupons both at Walmart and Publix (using the BOGO sale), I would pay $1.79 for 2 boxes at Publix and $3.08 for 2 boxes at Walmart. That is when I stock up and buy what I think my family will use for the next 6 weeks. That is just one item. Multiply this times everything you have in your cart and believe me you will see the savings immediately. !

PUBLIX TRIP FROM MY DAUGHTER SHANNON, SPENT $20

Another shout-out to my daughter, Shannon, who sent me this picture of her Publix trip. She spent $20 for everything pictured PLUS a book of stamps worth 8.00!!

PUBLIX 4/18/10, SPENT $17.10,

Sometimes I hate that a member of management has to come over and override my coupons because it seems like I almost always have more coupons than items. Well, todays trip was no different. My purchases included:

COMPETITOR COUPONS

Well, it has finally happened in the Athens, Huntsville, Alabama metro area. Eleven publix stores will only be accepting "traditional coupons". This means they are only going to accept grocery store coupons. They are no longer going to accept drugstore coupons or $ off $$ coupons.

We can only hope that this doesn't filter down to our area. PLEASE be considerate of Publix and how you use competitor coupons. Publix "eats" anywhere between $200 and $5,000per week in competitor coupons, depending on the size of the store and the volume they do. Once that number gets to a level where they feel they are losing money, they will do away with the competitor coupon deal we all know and love.

POSSIBLE FREE MIDOL

Go here and print of a coupon for $2 off Midol and stack with a $2 Q in the Green Advantage Flyer. This should make for FREE or cheap Midol!

TIDE LAUNDRY DETERGENT TOTAL COUNT OF 32

Now this is a true stockpile!! I got all my laundry detergent organized in one place and final count is 31 TIDE DETERGENT that I paid $.75 for! That is a total of $23.25 plus tax. Tide normally sells for $8.99 each which is $278.69. Even on sale for $4.99 times 31 bottles is $154.69!! That is a SWEET SAVINGS!!

You will notice I also have ALL detergent as well. I have about 30 bottles of that also which I paid between $.50 and $2.00 a bottle. Most of those were purchased for about $1.00 a bottle. I guess you can say I have enough laundry detergent for about a year or more...especially since I also make my own homemade laundry detergent and use that also!

WALGREENS DEALS

When I heard the RR's were rolling at Walgreens, I jumped in my car and hit a few stores on my way to Jacksonville. I bought another 7 Shick Shave Gels and only had to add a filler item of $.20. I did it again, again, and again for a total of 10!I may even do a few more before the week ends!

Also, within the next few months, all Walgreens are remodeling their stores and taking down their shelves so you could see over the top of the aisle all the way to the back of the pharmacy. All the items you see in the stores with the orange tags are discounted and will not be replaced in the store. I found many items in the store reduced 75% and more. Take your coupons with you, look for the orange tags and grab some great deals!

PUBLIX 4/7/10 INCLUDING A $50 GAS CARD!!

Yet another week I didn't need any groceries except milk but I couldn't help getting the great deals on 3 Scrubbing Bubbles, 4 Soft Scrub Total and 4 Coffee Mate. My expert camera skills chopped off two of the Coffee Mate!! The Goldfish crackers were something my daughter "had to have" so I gave in for the $2. My total should have been $1.46 but it was $3.46 with the goldfish crackers. I added a $40 gas card in for a total of $43.46.

The deal gets even better because I will submit my receipt for a REBATE for the Scrubbing Bubbles for $5.00!!!

HOW TO TELL IF A COUPON IS A FRAUD

I recently received an e-mail from Christy asking me if I had heard about the $8 Perdue coupon that is circulating. My advice is, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! I checked with the CIC site here, and sure enough, the Perdue coupon is listed! If you ever have any questions, go to this site to see the current list of fradulent coupons.

HOMEMADE LAUNDRY DETERGENT POSTED AGAIN BY POPULAR DEMAND!

For those of you who wanted the homemade laundry detergent, here it is. It only costs about $.03 per load and gets your clothes just as clean.

1/3 bar Fels Naptha Soap
1/2 cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda
1/2 cup 20 Mule Team Borax

Grate the soap and put in a saucepan. Add 6 cups water and heat it until the soap melts. Add the washing soda and the borax and stir until it is dissolved. Remove from the heat. Pour 4 cups hot water into the bucket. Now add your soap mixture and stir. Add 1 gallon plus 6 cups of water and stir. Let the soap mixture sit for 24 hours and it will gel. Stir well and use 1/2 cup per load...AND YES, IT CAN BE USED IN HE MACHINES!

WALGREENS 4/7/10 MONEYMAKER

This is the perfect example of how you have to be so careful when you do the drugstore runs. I was in a rush which was my first mistake. I ran into Walgreens and bought:

2 Sudafed OM
24 Bottles Water
Kotex liners
3 Fusion Gel Pens
1 Fusion Highligher
Colgate Pro Clinical Toothpaste

When I got to the register, I expected to pay almost nothing OOP. Apparently, my calculations were wrong!! The cashier told me my total was $6.95. When I got to the car, I found my mistake. I was under the impression the Sudafed OM were $4.99 each and were giving a $5 RR. Well, I got half of it right...they were ringing up $7.49!! Well, if that doesn't blow the whole scenerio! I had to go to the other side of town and decided to return the Sudafed because I really didn't need it. The manager gladly refunded my money to the tune of $6.98 and I got to keep the $5 RR. I wouldn't suggest doing this on a regular basis. I made an honest mistake about the price and they were nice enough to refund my money! Thank you Walgreens!

So, when the whole thing was said and done, I actually made $.03 on the deal and walked away with a $5 RR and a $2 RR for next week. Plus, I still have a $10 to use also PLUS I get to send away for a rebate of $4.50, three times for the pens! There is a limit of 1 rebate per address, so I will send the others in for family members!

MORE CHOCOLATE CHEERIOS

My husband and daughter said we needed different bread so off to Publix I go...so I might as well get some more of those $.50 Chocolate Cheerios while I am there! My Pepperidge Farm Bread would have been $7.38 alone. I paid $4.90 for 4 boxes of Cheerios, pkg. of guacamole, banana, and 2 loaves of bread. That was a savings of 79%!!!!!

DANCING IGUANA GUACAMOLE

DO YOU LOVE GUACAMOLE? There was a coupon in last weeks insert for FREE Dancing Iguana Guacamole at Publix. This is located in the produce section. I picked up two of them! If you want more go here and order 10 for $1.99 or 15 for $2.80. She is a stay-at-home mom who actually buys all the papers, cuts and sorts them, and lists them for sale.

I will be using mine to make mexican dip this weekend!

(You can actually freeze these, so stock up when you can get them for $.20 each!
