PUBLIX 12/31/10, SPENT $14.04, SAVED 76%

Another focused trip this week. This is what I bought:

Scallions
Grapes
Cantelopes
Bananas
Broccoli
2 Ragu
2 Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix
Potato Rolls
8 cans beans
Worstershire sauce
Greens
Creamed corn
10 Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner

Then I had to get my haircut at Panache so I went into the other Publix to get my Coast soap the other Publix was out of.

8 Coast Soap
1 ScotchBrite Pad
1 pack gum

TOTAL PAID $.75

TARGET CHRISTMAS CLEARANCE!

I meant to put this up this morning to let you know Target has its Christmas merchandise reduced 75%. I only picked up a few rolls of wrapping paper and some bows. I mainly went to Target for the Scott Toilet Tissue. It is priced at $3.99 for a 4-pack and I used my $2 Target Q's and 2 MQ's for $1 each and got 2 packages for $1 each. I only had 2 MQ's so I bought 2 more just using the $2 Q's. It was still a good deal. If you have that coupon, you still have time. They expire on 1/8/11.

How do you know it is a good deal on toilet paper? Look at the total number of square feet on the package. In this case it is 419.2 sq. ft. Move the decimel point over 3 spaces. If you can get a roll of TP for $.42 a roll, it is a great deal. Using both the MQ and TQ you are getting it for $.25 a roll. Using only the $2 TQ, you are paying $.50 a roll which is still considered a great deal

HELLO TO THE GIRLS AT ST. AUG. IMAGING CENTER

December should be a joyful time of year. It always is for me until I get to the end of the month where I go for the dreaded mamogram.

I walk into the Imaging Center and hand them my license and insurance card and get asked "Are you saving a lot with coupons?" Now what kind of a question is that to ask me! I then realize this was someone who took the class some time ago. I walked back into the office and was greeted by Shirley and Terri who also took the class, and the three of us stood there and talked about couponing and how it is about to change.

The conversation continued as my boob was placed in between those plastic things and smooshed down until I had to close my eyes and hold my breath. I don't know why I do that but I always do and start to count to 5 after I hear the beep after the picture has been taken. Did talking about coupons make the mamogram easier to bear? Yes, maybe a little, but just a little! Don't forget to get your yearly mamogram!

Before you go you may want to practice this excercise:

Open your refrigerator door and insert one breast between the door and the main box. Have one of your strongest friends slam the door shut and lean on the door for good measure. Hold that position for five seconds (while you hold your breath). Repeat again, in case the first time wasnt effective enough.

CONGRATULATIONS! Now you have nothing at all to worry about when you go for your mammogram!

SOME DEALS TO SMILE ABOUT!

Again, I don't see much for me in the new ad beginning 1/1 but I am excited about the Mott's Medley Juice. With 3 grandkids and a 17 year old who all love juice, I will be stocking up on these!

If your Publix will take an expired coupon, use the $.75/1 PQ from the Harvest of Savings Booklet along with the $1 blinkie that was available last week! I sure hope you pulled some of those! With both of these coupons, you will be getting it for FREE.

If your laundry detergent supply is getting low, stock up on the Wisk Detergent using the $2/1 coupon from the 1/2/11 RP. You will be paying $2.49 for the bottle! Order your coupons now so you can have them in time for the sale. If you plan on buying a large quantity, call your Publix and ask them to order your some and they will have it ready for you when you come in the store.

Also, Green Giant Frozen Vegetables are on sale 10 for $10. Make sure you print the $.50/1 coupon to get veggies for $.50!

Also, boneless skinless chicken breasts are on sale again at Food Lion for $1.79 lb. WOW! we sure have seen many sales recently on boneless chicken. We may not see them again for a few months, so make sure you have enough to get your family through the next couple months.

ANOTHER BRAG SPOT

I received this e-mail today from Linda who took the class just 2 1/2 weeks ago. Congratulations Linda on your first sucessful CVS run. Your OOP expenses will get even less as you go along!

Hi Judy,
I am so excited to give you this progress report. I went to CVS Monday and was proud of my little savings until I came home and read your CVS savings and realized I had missed bargains, so I planned another trip following your deals. Attached is a photo of my purchases that would have totaled $45.22 at full price. After my coupons, I only paid $19.38 with tax. Then CVS gave me $15 in ExtraBucks for my next shopping trip, so I ended up getting all this for only $4.38. WOW, how exciting! I can’t wait for my next shopping trip.

Linda
(December class Alumni)

P.S. My husband was so impressed about getting the Gillette razor for $1.99 that I wanted to get another for my son. Since there was a limit of one, I picked up a second CVS card and went shopping on it to get a razor for my son. While on my second shopping trip, I spied the greentag cards and immediately bought one so I can earn an ExtraBuck every 4th time I use it with my recyclable tote bag.

In case you can’t see the photo, here’s what I bought.

2 Pantene Pro-V shampoo & conditioner
1 Dawn dish detergent
1 Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor
1 Olay Body Wash
1 Tone Body Wash
2 Colgate Toothpaste

WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT EXTREME COUPONING?

Ok...so how many of you watched Extreme Couponing. All I've got to say is that show gives us couponers a bad name!

How many of us need 3,000 rolls of toilet paper (enough to last the average family for 40 years)?...or have over $15,000 worth of stock on hand or spend $70 for 1,000 coupons, or have 50 bottles of laundry detergent (about 1,600 loads) in their stockpile? Well, I confess I have about 60 bottles of laundry detergent! But it stops there!

How many boxes of pasta do you really need? I guess they don't have those bugs that just show up in your pasta. I personally think 125 boxes is a little much! Now if you were feeding a family like maybe the size of the Duggars you could MAYBE justify it! But they were a famly of two...and I might add a LARGE family of two. Hence the 150 candy bars! Who in the heck needs 150 candy bars? The only reason I buy candy bars is for filler items!

Their totals were impressive though and double coupons help tremendously! One paid $51.67 for $1,175.33 worth of groceries. Another paid $6.92 for $230.38 worth of groceries and the best paid $241.00 for $5,743 worth of stuff which included 1100 boxes of cereal that he paid $100 for. He also had a shopping cart full of toothbrushes and dental floss. I did that deal also but maybe got 8 dental floss! The best part is he donates a lot of his stuff. The first lady had a stockpile in her garage that was insured for about $35,000!!!

Who needs 200 deodorants? Did you know these have expiration dates? I certainly don't want to be the one to find out my deodorant has stopped working in the middle of a hot summer day because it was out-of-date!

So the moral to this story is have fun couponing, save your family money, stockpile to a reasonable level, don't have your friends dumpster dive for coupons, and don't go on TV so people will point at you when you are in the store!

STEWART'S PRODUCE WEEKLY AD

Stewart's ad will run this week starting Wednesday and go thru Friday. They will close early on Friday and will be closed on New Years Day.

Boneless New York Strip Steak $5.99 lb.

Claw Crab Meat, 1 lb. can, $6.99 each

3 lb. bag Onions, $1.50 each

New Crop Shelled Almonds, (whole or sliced) and Walnuts

Sunburst Tangerines, 5 for $1.00

Standing Rib Roasts , $5.99 lb.

EXTREME COUPONING SHOW ON TV TONIGHT!

Tonight on TLC there is a show on Extreme Couponing. Now I know there are those of you who think I fall into this catagory, but I can assure you that I do not! Anyone who seems to think they have the need to buy a shopping cart full of toothbrushes definitely goes over the top! I think if I stockpiled over 4 years worth of toilet paper my husband would definitely kill me and think I needed to be hospitalized. Now we can go out into "JMART" and get what we need without being overwhelmed (the term for my stockpile in my garage!)

Don't forget to watch tonight!

WALGREENS 12/28/10, SPENT $.96

Do you have any RR's you need to use by the end of the year? I did the Sinex deal and paid $.96 OOP and got back another $10 RR that expires 1/11/11. This stuff actually works. We have used both the day and night over the past 45 days dealing with all the sinus stuff going around. It was sure nice to have it in my stockpile.
OOPS: The picture should show 4 cans of chicken broth NOT 2 snickers bars. The snickers bars were used as fillers for the deal below

I also bought a Olay Regenerist Cream on sale for $19.99 and used 2 $5 RR's and will submit for the $20 Olay Rebate

Monday, December 27, 2010

CVS SPENT $4.20

I had $12 worth of ECB's to roll and it actually was easy for an end of the year transaction. I ended up spending $4.20 (includes tax) for all this and got $10 in ECB's to roll into the following weeks! I did it in four transactions and this is what I bought:

2 Pantene Shampoo
2 Pantene Styler items
1 Olay Body Wash
1 Olay Moisturizer
2 Colgate Toothpaste
2 Tone Body Wash
2 Dawn Dish Soap

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all my friends I have made through couponing! May we remember why we celebrate the Christmas season. Thank you to my Lord Jesus Christ who left His throne in heaven to come down and be born as a baby to bear the sins of the world.

Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas as you celebrate His birth with your family!

HEADS UP!

I am sure I am not the only one who has heard Publix will be changing their coupon policy after the first of the year. What I have heard is that they will no longer be taking Target coupons because we don't have a Super Target here. Good bye produce and deli coupons :( (and no more cheap crackers, cereal, etc.)

I have also heard they will no longer use Dollar General and Family Dollar coupons.

I don't know if if will vary by store or if it will be a policy that will be adopted storewide.

As I hear, I will keep you posted.

RAGU COUPON

Along with the A-1 Steak sauce deal posted below, look for the "Get A Smart Start for Back To School" Booklet and use the $1/2 coupon for Ragu with the sale. I will continue to post any expired Publix coupon deals as I find them!

PUBLIX 12/23/10, SPENT $12.03

What a day it has been! All the last minute running around and, of course, a trip to the grocery store to pick up bread for my breakfast casserole that I forgot the other day. I also decided to pick up a few other things and that turned into many things! When I got home I had no time to take a picture. You will have to use your imagination on this one. This is what I bought:

20 pc. wings (deli) (impulse buy!)
Bag of pretzels
Hersheys Rolos (to make the most amazing candy ever, recipe to follow)
4- 32oz. Ricotta Cheese (giving 1 to each of my daughters)(used blinkie and Yellow Advantage Q
4 Mozzarella Cheese (giving 1 to each of my daughters)(used same Q'S)
2 Grape Tomatoes
2 pkgs. Zucchini
2 Cream Cheese
4 I Can't Believe It's Not Butter
4 Cracker Barrel Cheese (used PQ and MQ)
4 Planters Nuts
2 Jello Pudding
Animal Crackers
Whole Pineapple
2 loaves Bread

TOTAL SPENT $11.68, SAVED 90%

Then...as I was making my appetizers for tomorrow, I decided to double the recipe on one and I needed more green onions. I still had to go to the bank so I ventured out again to Publix to get my onions and, of course, a few other things. This trip I purchased:

10 Gatorade (turns out my brother loves it!)
4 Mrs. Butterworths (this was out-of-stock at other store and it is good until 5/2012
Sweet Potatoes (not on sale next week)
Green beans (not on sale next week)
Bananas

TOTAL SPENT $.35, SAVED 99%

Sometimes it is worth it to add a few items to get your total up to $25 if you have a $5/$25 Q like I did. It is like getting those items for FREE and that makes me smile! Also, knowing I could get my veggies this week at the sale price is when I want to stock up!

Now for the recipe using the pretzels and rolos. This is the simplest recipe and it is sooo good! You have to buy the square pretzels. Lay them out on a pan and preheat your oven to 350 degrees. While it is heating up, place a rolo on top of the pretzel. That is it. You are almost done! Now put the pan in the oven and set the timer for 3 minutes. Look at them and see if the chocolate has softened. It may need another minute, but no longer. Take them out and immediately press a M&M in the center. Take off rack (this is the hardest part) and cool on a cooling rack. These are like making your own Take 5 Candy Bars only bite-size. They make the best gift to give your mailman, hairdresser, etc.

I will not be going to Publix tomorrow and don't see much next week I need either. This will be live out-of-the pantry/freezer week (which includes a prime rib!)

MORE FREE EXCEDRIN

Here is a new link for a Free bottle of Excedrin. They are giving out 10,000 coupons a day with a value of up to $5.99 ea. I already got 2 of these in the mail and then stacked with a $5/2 PQ from a Green Advantage Flyer for $5 overage

MORE FREE CANDY AT CVS

When I was at CVS yesterday picking up my 2 bags of M&M's and 2 bags of Hershey's Kisses for $.82 using my ECB's, I scanned my card and got a BOGO Reeses Pieces coupon.

If you get one, you can do this deal:

Buy 2 bags of Hershey’s Reeses Pieces 2/$5, Get $2 ECB
Use the BOGO coupon from the scanner
Pay $2.50 for 2 bags and get $2 ECB

Use those ECB's that are getting ready to expire to roll them into next year!

DEAL WITH A1 STEAK SAUCE IN NEW AD

Again, if your store takes an expired coupon, here is another to go with the new ad. Look for the coupon in the Smart Savings Booklet for "Save $1 on ground beef wyb one A1 Steak Sauce" Use two coupons, buy 2 1lb. packages of ground beef and get the meat for FREE!

A $100 WINNER

I just got this e-mail below from John who has a big smile on his face after winning something posted on a blog. This just goes to show you...someone has to win and it might as well be one of us!! Congratulations John & Jenny!

Jenny and I just had a pleasant surprise. If you remember back in July, Conga Foods was giving rebates if you purchased 5 of their food items with the mail in rebate. Once you sent the rebate in you were automatically entered for a chance at a $100.00 gift card. Well, last Saturday the door bell rang and it was the post man. He had certified mail for us. Wondering what it could be, we tore it open and to our surprise it was a letter and a $100.00 gift card from Conga Food. WE WON!!! Great timing.

BRAG SPOT FROM BARBARA!

I received a message from Barbara who took the class a few weeks ago. She was calling to report on her first shopping trip to Publix after learning the saving method. He total before coupons was $450 and after coupons $209.

She is just beginning and this is just the start of her savings!

Sorry I missed your call Barbara! Let me know how you are doing in about 6 weeks! Wait until you see how much you improve!

HOW MUCH DID YOUR DINNER COST TONIGHT?

Hard to beat this one and it was good!

Classico Pasta Sauce $.30
Muellers Pasta $.15
1/2 of Sorrento Mozzarella Cheese $.50
Primo Sausage FREE
Garlic Bread $1.00

TOTAL COST OF DINNER TO FEED 4 - $1.95 (Baked pasta with cheese and garlic bread)

So how much did you pay for your dinner tonight? Gotta love coupons!

PUBLIX, SPENT $.10, SAVED 100%

WOW! What a great shopping trip today! I was totally out of block cheese and I was excited to get the $50 gas card and I'll always take more free cleaning supplies. The only disappointment was the Gatorade Recover. I know why it is on sale...it is horrible! Now don't take my word for it. I don't like regular Gatorade. The Recover tastes to me like it is very sweet. Why do you need all that sweetness? Maybe after a afternoon in the hot sun it gives your body back something it needs. Not this body...it won't be passing through my lips! I have already given some away and rest will be going away as well! If you want to taste this stuff, use the blinkie that is found right in front of it and stack with the $1 PQ in the yellow advantage flyer that is in the front of the store. That equals FREE. This is what I purchased:

6 Keebler Crackers
25 Gatorade
10 Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner
6 Publix Chunk Cheese
2 Cream Cheese
3 Sorrento Mozzarella Cheese
2 boxes Excedrin
Distilled Water
3- 4pk. Starbucks Frappuccino
AND
$50 GAS CARD

Yes, you read it right. I paid $.10 for all of the above items including the $50 gas card. I had free coupons for the Excedrin and had a $5/2 PQ which gave me overage. I also had several coupons from an expired yellow flyer that were stacked with MQ's. Of course, $/$$ coupons were used to bring my total to $.10

Not bad if I say so myself!

Monday, December 20, 2010

MORE DEALS!

Here's a few more deals for you if your Publix will accept a expired Publix coupon. If you signed up for the FREE Excedrin, you should be receiving your coupons in the mail. I received two coupons today for a FREE MIGRANE and a FREE EXCEDRIN EXTRA STRENGTH. Pair this with the $5/2 green advantage coupon dated 11/27 to 12/17 and get $5 overage!

Keebler crackers are BOGO this week. Pair this with the coupon from the Noche Buena booklet for "Save $2 on Publix Cheese wyb any ONE Keebler Cracker", and Wags $1/2 Q to get crackers for about $.80 box PLUS $4 worth of FREE PUBLIX CHEESE!

NEW ADDITION hERE'S ANOTHER GREAT DEAL! Use the $1/1 Sorrento Cheese Blinkie available now in the store and stack with the $1 PQ from the Bountiful Blessings Yellow Advantage Flyer. If your store will accept an expired Publix Q, you can get these for $1 each. Also, these blinkies don't expire until 3/11 so get a few extra to pair again with a sale!

DOLLAR STORE DEAL ON FETA CHEESE

Here's yet another deal and you don't go to Publix for it! Presidents Feta Cheese is at the Dollar Store on US 1 in the Staples Plaza and has an expiration date of March 2011. And guess what? It is only $1!!

Does anyone know if the Dollar Store takes coupons? I have some $1 Presidents Feta Cheese q's?

But the real question is "DO I really need feta cheese?" I still have a ton left over from when we got them all for FREE!

PUBLIX 12/18/10, SPENT $60.38, SAVED 80%

What a fun trip I had to Publix today! I know my family thought I got lost as I was gone for sooo long! I met a couple of fellow couponers in there, Tina and Helen from Palatka, who I struck up a conversation with. I happened to notice Tina as we passed through the isles and I could immediately tell she was a couponer by the items she had in her cart. The other giveaway could have been the coupon binder she had in her cart as well!! As she was reaching to put Sorrento Cheese in her cart, I asked her what the deal was she was doing because God forbid I miss a deal! Just kidding! Her friend ended up coming around the corner and we stood there talking for quite a long time sharing different deals and our coupon stories. They travel to St. Augustine to shop from Palatka because Palatka doesn't take any Target or FLIPS. I know between the three of us, the store was probably glad to see us leave!

With all the excitment and trying to tell people who got in line behind me it wouldn't be a good move, I totally forgot to use my gift card that I purchased first (see next post) and ended up charging it. That just means I won't be paying for groceries for a few weeks because I still have my gift card. This is what I bought:
(All the refrigerated items are not shown because I threw them in the freezer and took off for church because I was late!

4 Sour Cream (not shown)
Chili Powder
4 Hefty Trash Bags (used RC)
4 Ore-Ida Hash Browns (not shown)
Sweet Potatoes
Green Peens
Green Onions
2 pkgs. Poppers Appetizer (not shown)
Publix Semi-Boneless Ham (not shown)
2 Cool Whip (not shown)
4 Dole Pineapple
6 Quaker Instant Oatmeal
Half and Half (not shown)
1/2 lb. Brothers Coffee
25 Gatorade Recover
10 Planters Peanuts
4 Boxes Nabisco Wheat Thins
6 Boxes Nabisco Wheat Thin Stix
4 Boxes of Pasta
AND A...
$50 GAS CARD

WALGREENS 12/17/10

I have $20 worth of RR's to use by the end this week, so I decided to do the nail polish deal again with my Hallmark RR's and used the Everpure Shampoo/Conditioner deal as my filler item. I asked Walgreens to adjust down the RR $.01 and they wouldn't so I just bought them anyway. I ended up getting 3 nail polish, 2 Conditioner and 1 Shampoo for $4.56 and got another $15 in RR's. I still have one more RR to use this week, but I managed to roll the others until the end of the month. Looks like I will have some fun when I have $30 to spend in Walgreens. Now the question is...do I buy paper towels and toilet paper or do I buy fun stuff in the cosmetic department??

Make sure you do the Loreal Everpure Shampoo and Conditioner for $.99 at the cosmetic counter. Even if you don't have the coupon, they will scan one there behind the counter. This stuff normally sells for $6.99 each!

COFFEEMATE FOOD LION COUPON

Go here to print a coupon for $.50 off Coffeemate Dairy Creamer. Make sure you print the number of copies you want the first time because you will not be able to go back in and print any more. This coupon along with the $1 coupon from "liking" on FB should make for a pretty sweet deal!

ALSO BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR REDPLUM INSERT IN TODAYS MAIL FOR VALUABLE PUBLIX COUPONS!

A GIFT TO YOURSELF AFTER ALL THIS SHOPPING!

Time for a break from the holiday hub-bub…

Okay, take off your shoes. No, seriously, take off your shoes. Now look at your feet…not just the top, but look at the soles of your feet. How do they look? How do they feel? Are they soft, smooth & lovely? Or are they dry, rough & icky?

Here in Florida some of us are still wearing flip-flops. Yeah, we’re crazy like that around here. But then again it does still get into the 70's and 80's at times in December. And while we will be covering our toes for the most part through the rest of winter it’s important for us to take care of our feet, regardless if they won’t be seeing the light of day until next March.

I recently heard about a NATURAL & super CHEAP way to have healthy, soft & beautiful feet. Sorry, this doesn’t correct crooked toes, bossy toes, etc., but it does help the overall appearance. Two words: Garlic + Olive Oil.

You read that right, garlic & olive oil. I’ve heard of people using them on their feet but never gave it a try myself. Did you know that garlic is a naturally powerful antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and anti-parasitic. I realize this is a lot of detail for such a simple thing and I can't wait to try it. Anyway, here’s the recipe:

Before bed – crush 1 clove of fresh garlic in a small bowl & cover with olive oil, then place plastic wrap over the bowl. (I know we all have olive oil we have stockpiled!) Let it soak for 30 minutes, then rub the olive oil mixture on the bottom of your feet. Put socks on then go to bed. By the morning the garlic will have gone through your body, healing you from the inside, out over a short period of time. Do this for about 5 days in a row, then follow-up whenever you feel the need to do so. If you dream of Carrabba's or Olive Garden that night you will know why! Better yet, don't tell your husband and see if he dreams of an italian dinner at Carrabba's!

Have you ever tried this before? Are you going to give it a go? Let me know your results!

PUBLIX 12/10, SPENT $11.82, SAVED 79%

After not setting foot in a Publix for a whole sales week, I ventured in today to get some of the Smart Balance Milk and a few other things I needed. This is what I purchased:
While I was standing in line when she was ringing up my groceries, I got in a discussion with the guy behind me about where to shop. He insisted that he could get double the amount of groceries at Walmart vs Publix. Of course, I disagreed. He stood there while my groceries went through but left before my total came up. My total before groceries was over $80. My total was $11.82. Now he can't tell me he can do that at Walmart!!
4 Aunt Jemima Waffles

14 Smart Balance Milk
Grape Tomatoes
Bananas
Romaine Lettuce
Zucchini
Green Beans
2 pkgs frozen brocolli
2 pkgs. chicken breast
1 fresh fish
2 Thomas Everything Bagel
4 Pepperidge Farm Bread
1 lb. Deli Turkey
1/2 lb. Boars Head cheese
2 doz. Vegetarian Eggs

RECEIPE TO USE THOSE BONELESS CHICKEN BREASTS

We should be stocking up on boneless skinless chicken breasts since they are on sale this week and last week as well. With the cold weather here for the next few days, here is a great soup recipe that will remind you of eating at Panera Bread. Stop at the farmers market on Saturday morning and buy a loaf of bread from the guy who is closest to the entrance, close your eyes and you will think you are at Panara! What makes this recipe even better is that you should have the Uncle Bens Wild Rice in your stockpile as well when we got them for FREE as well as a good stock of chicken broth!

CHICKEN WILD RICE SOUP

4 cups chicken broth
2 cups water
2 cooked boneless chicken breast halves, shredded
1 (6.2 oz) package Uncle Ben's long grain and wild rice with seasoning mix
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup butter
1 cup milk
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup choppen onions
1/2 cup chopped carrots
1/2 cup chopped celery
1-2 T olive oil

Saute onion, carrots, celery with a little olive oil and garlic.

In a large pot over medium heat, combine broth, water, chicken and sauteed vegetables. Bring just to boiling, then stir in rice, reserving seasoning pocket. Cover and remove from heat.

In a small bowl, combine salt & pepper, flour. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in contents of seasoning packet until mixture is bubbly. Reduce heat to low, then stir in flour mixture by tablespoons, to form a roux. Whisk in cream, a little at a time, until fully incorporated and smooth. Cook until thickened, 5 minutes.

Stir cream/milk mixture into broth and rice. Cook over medium heat until heated through, about 15 minutes.

Enjoy!

E-MAIL FROM MARGIE A. - A MUST READ!

Margie sent me this e-mail and I thought it was good information for all of us to follow. Remember to always be NICE to your cashier!

Judi,
I have been enjoying couponing & thank you for teaching me. I was sharing my
couponing experiences with my daughter (who formerly worked at Publix part-time
while in high school & college) and her friend (who presently works at Publix).
The one thing they said is, "Please don't become one of those mean ladies".
They said there are some ladies who, if they are told they can't use a
particular coupon, that they get total nasty with the cashier. The cashier is
doing the best they can. It's all in the attitude - please ask nicely. The
cashier could lose their job if they don't do what they are told.
If couponers try to take advantage of Publix, then Publix could change some of
their coupon policies & ruin it for all of us.
Please get this message out to your coupon followers to BE NICE TO YOUR CASHIER,
NOT ONLY AT CHRISTMAS, BUT ALL THE TIME. REMEMBER TO THANK YOUR CASHIER.
God Bless,
Margie (Mom of former Cashier)

I'M BACK UP AND RUNNING AGAIN!

If you wonder why I have not posted in several days, I didn't fall off the face of the earth! My one computers hard-drive crashed and I don't know what was wrong with the other. But the good news is I finally got it working!!

Have I been shopping in the past 7 days? No, I only bought my chicken at Food Lion (went 2 times) and from the looks of the the new ad, I won't be doing much shopping next week either. Could you believe I didn't even set foot in a publix this week? Shocking...but true. Nothing I had to have. The only thing I see I want next week is the Smart Balance Milk on sale for $2.50. I have already ordered my $2 coupons for
$.12 each which means I will pay $.50 per 1/2 gallon. If you have any 2010 Harvest Savings Booklets left, and your store will take an expired Publix coupon, you can sweeten the deal even more. Combine the $2 MQ and the $1 PQ and get FREE MILK!

Also, more boneless skinless chicken breasts for $1.99 lb.!! If you didn't buy it last week or need more to stock up, make sure you use your grocery budget this week on that because God knows we all don't need any more Cheez-It crackers!

STOCK-UP PRICE ON BONELESS CHICKEN AT FOOD LION

Make room in your freezers! Hopefully since the Thanksgiving Turkey has been cooked you have some extra room! Run to Food Lion this week and stock up on the Boneless Holly Farms Chicken Breasts for $1.79 lb. Also available are chicken tenders for $1.99 lb. Buy it now at this price to and stock up to get you through 6 to 8 weeks.

I would even guess that next Tuesday Food Lion will be out of chicken breasts. Let's just say I know from experience. Every time I go in for chicken on the last day of the sale they are sold out. Stock up early in the week and then go back and get a raincheck at the end of the sale!

NEXT COUPON WORKSHOP 12/13/10

The last coupon workshop for the year will be Monday, December 13th at 6:30 pm. The class will be held at Lighthouse Interiors, 304 Anastasia Blvd., across from Stewarts Market and Eclections. There are only 5 seats remaining in this class!

As always, if you prefer me to come to your home or workplace, give me a call so we can arrange a date.

Call me at 540-5225 to reserve your seat for this 2-hour class!

PUBLIX 11/30/10, SPENT $20.81, SAVED 47%

My whole goal at Publix this week was to spend the least money OOP and get my total over $100 to get 4 gas cards. My total before gas cards and before my coupons were taken off was $111.81. After my four $50 gas cards ($160) and my groceries, my total was $180.66. That means I paid $20.66 for all these groceries:

1/2 lb. American Cheese
1 lb. Boars Head Turkey
2 cans of Almonds
2 Oscar Mayer Turkey Breast
3 Cannelini Beans
4 Chungs Egg Rolls
2 Lettuce
8 Crystal Light Tea
Brothers fresh ground coffee
8 Quaker Oatmeal
6 Martha Stewart Bathroom Cleaner
5 Smart Balance Milk
Benadryl, 20 ct.
2 Pepperidge Farm Bread
2 dozen eggs

I used rainchecks for the PF Bread, Smart Balance Milk, and Martha Stewart Bathroom Cleaner. My plan worked because when I saw this weeks ad I was so disappointed because I didn't see anything I really needed. I only needed lunchmeat, cheese, eggs, and bread. Those alone would have totalled $23.30. I am so glad the gas deal is not next week, because that ad is even worse than this weeks!

Make sure you check your mail today for another $5/$50 coupon on the front page of the RED PLUM!

PUBLIX 11/24/10, SPENT $.86, SAVED 99%

I tried to be organized when putting my shopping list together for Thanksgiving. Obviously, I wasn't very organized.

Art: Did you get the half and half for the scalloped oysters?

Judi: I can't believe I forgot it! It was on my list! Now I have to make that dreaded trip back to Publix the day before Thanksgiving!

So, off at 9:30 I go to Publix. I looked at the rice that was BOGO and I found 6 boxes with peelies on them for $1...more FREE rice! I checked my binder before I left and found more cracker tearpads so I bought more crackers and stacked them with the Wags $1/2 coupon...more cheap crackers. I have been waiting for the sweet potatoes to go on sale, so I bought 3 more to eat within the next few weeks. I can't forget the baby carrots. My daughter inhales them so why not buy them this week when I can get them BOGO. And, of course, the half and half I need for my scalloped oysters. I, of course, made it past $25 so I was able to use my $5/$25 coupon. My total was -$.40! So grab a pack of gum for a total of $.86, a savings of 99%. This is what I bought:

Brothers Coffee (FREE)
10 Wheat Thins Stix
4 Wheat Thins
6 Uncle Bens Rice
Water rolls
Potato Rolls
4 Baby Carrots
Half and Half
Bananas
Sweet Potatoes

No more Publix trips for me! I am done until next week and from the looks of the ad, it doesn't look like I will be buying much!

PUBLIX 11/23/10, SPENT $9.39, SAVED 89%

I decided to go back to Publix to get my veggies for next week since they will not be on sale next week. I also wanted to pick up more rice to donate and get my cool whip that I forgot on the first trip. This is what I got:

Fresh Green Beans
Squash
Zucchini
Oscar Mayer Bacon
8 Wheat Thins
8 Uncle Bens Rice
2 Fudge Covered Ritz (can't wait to try!)
2 Cool Whip

TESTIMONIALFROM EILEEN G. FOUR DAYS AFTER TAKING CLASS

I just heard from Eileen G. who just took the class this last Tuesday night on 11/16/10. On her very FIRST shopping trip to Publix using the system she learned in the class she saved 75% using her coupons and BOGOS!!! Way to go Eileen! Her total before coupons was $110, and the total after coupons was $60.27. Not to shabby for her first week when she didn't have access to all the coupons available. Give it a few weeks and Eileen will be building up her stockpile and saving like that every single week! She told the cashier she was so excited that she wanted her to announce it on the loudspeaker in the store!

Great job Eileen...Thanks for the phone call from the Publix parking lot! Your excitment and savings is what this is all about. Start saving and then start giving back to the community and other needy families!

LOOKING FOR AN EASY APPETIZER AND A WAY TO USE YOUR CREAM CHEESE?

Are you looking for an easy appetizer that everyone will love. I mean it...this stuff will disappear and everyone will want to know what it is. It is called Hot Squeeze Sweet Heat Chipolte Sauce ($4.99) and no it isn't hot. Once you start eating it you can't stop. All you do is open up the brick of cream cheese and squirt it on! You can buy it at the new Food Lion south of town. It is on the isle with all the sauces near the front end of the store and is only 1 deep on the shelf. It was very hard to find because the bottle is so little but it is sooo worth it!! Buy some of those $.50 Wheat Thins this week at Publix and serve this at your next gathering!

If you go on their website www.thehotsqueeze.com and search under recipes, you will see some awesome things to do with this stuff. It is amazing on chicken wings that you cook on the grill. Slop some of this on and stick in the oven so the sauce carmelizes and watch them disappear!

PUBLIX 11/19, SPENT $19.52, SAVED 90%

Thanksgiving is at my home next weekand. For others what is the dreaded trip to the grocery store was a pleasant experience for me! My portion of the meal will include all appetizers, one of the turkeys, mashed potatoes and gravy, scalloped oysters, all desserts and drinks. The rest is coming with friends and family. The only thing I forgot to buy was cool whip! What isn't in my stockpile already, will be coming out of this grocery trip to make Thanksgiving dinner and the rest will be added to my stockpile! This is what I purchased:

19 lb. turkey
6 Nabisco Crackers (Wheat Thins and Flatbread)
3 Jimmy Dean Sausage
2 Steamfresh Vegetables
1 Oscar Mayer Bacon
Bag Yukon Gold Potatoes
Onions
2 bags baby carrots
5 Kraft Shredded Cheese
5 Cream Cheese
Butter
Frozen Spinach
Cranberry Sauce
2 Turkey Gravy
2 Jello Pudding
6 Sweet Potatoes
2 Soda
2 Dulcolax (these were $10.99 each)
2 Vitamins
20 Uncle Bens Rice
2 Bic Lighters

Oh, and by the way, the bill for this WITHOUT coupons would have been $126.00!! I left Publix and put $45 worth of gas in my car. I sure wish I could get more of those coupons for gas! At least what I didn't spend at the grocery store was put in my gas tank!!

LAST FEW DAYS FOR FOOD DROP-OFF

I personally have been collecting food for several needy families in our area. A post was put in the St. Augustine Record if anyone wanted to help out of their stockpile and drop it off at Lighthouse Interiors. I would like to send out a special thank you to Michelle T. who responded to this request and dropped off a large bag of food!

Thank you Michelle for your kind heart. You don't know how much I appreciate this and I am sure the families will also when I add my collection of food and meat to the bags and deliver it to them. God has blessed us so it feels good to pass it along and bless others.

There is still time left! If you have any excess stockpile items and would like to donate to several needy families, please drop them off to Lighthouse Interiors next week.

THANK YOU!

ACE HARDWARE COUPON

Coupons.com has a new coupon out for 50% off one item $30 or lower at Ace Hardware.

I didn't read it right so I headed out to the kitchen, found my husband and happily announced "Would you like a coupon for 50% off at Ace Hardware?" Knowing he would be so proud of me for finding a coupon that a man could really enjoy, he lit up like a Christmas Tree. "You mean I could buy a grill and get 50% off of it?" Well, that didn't sound right so I headed back to the computer to see that the coupon was for a purchase of $30 or less. How disappointing when I had to tell him unless he could find a grill for $30, a new grill wasn't in his future. Maybe an air conditioning filter, but certainly no grill!

HOW TO NOT HAVE MOLD IN YOUR SHOWER

I wanted to share this tip I read about on the Scott website when printing the $1 off Scott Toilet Tissue coupon. (Skip intro and click on special savings on bottom right). After the last person takes a shower, spray a mixture of alcohol and water. It should be 1 part alcohol to 3 parts water and your shower will NEVER mold!

How cool is that! Alcohol is one of those items that you could use as a filler item when you do Wags deals! Even though I have a ton of cleaning supplies in my garage, I am going to try this! Let me know if you do and you have any success with it!

By the way, if you buy the Scott Toilet Paper at Target, you can also stack the TQ available with the Scott Q above! While you are there, buy eggs on sale for $.99 each and use your BOGO coupon if you still have it as they should expire at the end of the month. If you don't have that, use the $.55/2 Q that was available.

Another deal worth looking at at Target is Pepperidge Farm Milano Cookies at $2.50 each. There is a $1/1 printable coupon and look in your binders for a peelie $1 off milk wyb cookies. If you have a sweet tooth and need milk, it would be a great deal!

CHECK YOUR EXPIRATION DATES ON H.V. RANCH

If any of you did the Hidden Valley Ranch Deal at Winn Dixie this week, CHECK YOUR EXPIRATION DATES!! I bought some at the 207 store and some at the Winn Dixie north of town. ALL of the Spicy Ranch Dressing I bought at the 207 store was out-of-date! I returned it all to the other store and exchanged it!

I let my friend know who also purchased some and hers were out-of-date as well! This is even a better reason why I LOVE Publix and don't shop at Winn Dixie!

CHEAP REDDI WHIP WHIPPED CREAM

A new $1 FLIP was just announced for Reddi Whip Topping. Stack this coupon with the $.35/1 from the 11/14 SS and get cheap whipped cream to top your Thanksgiving pies! Note that the FLIP expires on 11/23.

POSSIBLE BETTER THAN FREE DULCOLAX

Check your coupon binders or boxes for a $8 Dulcolax Coupon that we were able to print off SmartSource a few weeks back. I don't think the coupon is available to print any longer. Stack that with the $3 coupon from the Green Advantage Flyer and get a great deal on Dulcolax. My guess is this will be better than free!

Between this and the Sundown Vitamins, I sure am glad to take the overage to apply towards my other groceries!

MY FAVORITE COUPON CLIPPING SITE

For all of you who like to order additional coupons from coupon clipping sites, I want to tell you about my favorite site to order from.

Go to www.tinyurl.com-weclipusave and look for the coupon you are searching for in catagories A-J or K-Z. When you find the coupon you are looking for, highlight it and copy and paste it in an e-mail. Change the number next to the cost of the coupon to the number you want. For example:

(05¢)500- Smart Balance Milks on TWO cartons, DND-5, void in CO, ME, MO, and ND $2.00 12/15/10 (RP 10/31) PAI01

I would change the 500 (the number of coupons he has available to the number of coupons I want to purchase, in this case 10.

(05¢)10- Smart Balance Milks on TWO cartons, DND-5, void in CO, ME, MO, and ND $2.00 12/15/10 (RP 10/31) PAI01

He has the lowest price available and I highly recommend him!

PUBLIX SPENT $2 OOP, SAVED 82%

I had to go to drop off canned goods at my daughters school today, so I decided to swing by the SR 16 store because I heard they had the new Winter Savings Book in. While I was in there I made a small purchase which included the following:

6 ears of corn $2
2 bags Alexia Sweet Potato Fries - 2 for $5

Total OOP $2.00 after coupons

NEW $5/$50 COUPON SPOTTED!

Be sure to look at the Red Plum insert that came in your mail today. There is a $5 off $50 Publix coupon on the front page of the insert. Remember, this total is BEFORE coupons.

PUBLIX 11/13, SPENT $80.03, SAVED 40%

Don't rub your eyes...you are seeing that amount of $80.03 correctly! Let me explain the reason it was so high...my husband was with me! Enough said! All kidding aside, we were having an oyster roast at the house and needed items for that. Some of the items were a $20.36 ham, $5.59 of on-the-vine tomatoes, $5 worth of Potato Rolls, $3.50 for ice and $3.59 for popcorn chicken (impulse buy by husband). Those items alone were just over $38! I can't tell you how long it has been since I have paid that much for groceries...probably 1 1/2 years! Sorry, there is no picture. I had to get everything put away quickly because family was on their way over!

My purchases included:

2 Thomas' Everything Bagels
Pears
2 pkgs. Zucchini
Bananas
2 Betty Crocker Frosting (bought these next few items to make a dessert but everyone was full and didn't want me to make it!)
2 Pillsbury Refrig.Cinnamon Buns
Apple
Walnuts
Genoa Salami
1 lb. Boars Head Chicken Breast
2 French Onion Dip
2 Potato Rolls
1 Condensed Beef Broth
2 Jiffy Corn Mix
2 Alouette Cheese
3 Cream of Mushroom soup
2 Quaker Granola
1 Xochitl Corn Chips (these are awesome!)
Gallon of Vinegar
Evaporated Milk
Black Peppercorns (didn't see these in cart. I have 5 in stockpile! :(
Tony Chachs Seasoning
Large Popcorn Chicken
20 lb. ice
Tomatos on vine
Cabot cheese
Ham

This trip kind of reminded me of days past when I spent $80 and felt like I got nothing for it!

WALGREENS 11/14

My walgreens deals today were done in three transactions. I really didn't want to buy anything this week at Walgreens, but my RR's were going to expire in a few days. I figured it was better to get something back rather than nothing. First of all, the Sinux Daytime has been a HUGE hit at our house! I still have Sudafed PE Triple Action that I got for FREE that nobody seems to like. Boy, am I glad I didn't have to pay for them! Getting back to the Sinux...I already have 4 boxes and we all seem to think this one does the job it is supposed to do. I had no problem adding more of these to my stockpile. I spent $2.00 OOP including tax for all of the items pictured PLUS a newspaper that is not shown! I started out with $16 in RR and ended up getting two $5 RR back to roll into next week! The Ecotrin will go into my stockpile of low dose aspirin for my husband, Kids-Eeze Cough & Cold for the grandkids, 2 tape just in time for Christmas and jello...I think I still have 40 boxes left that I got for FREE. I forgot about those. Guess I will throw some of those into my donation bags!

UNEXPECTED DEAL AT WINN DIXIE

I stopped by Winn Dixie today with my daughter to pick up some Hidden Valley Ranch Dry Packets that were BOGO at $1.99 and Baby Formula. Right at the end of the isle next to the HV Ranch was a display of them that had a tearpad on it for "Buy 3 HV Ranch and get a store brand sour cream for FREE". So I bought 6 HV Ranch and 2 WD sour cream. When they rung up at the register the coupon should have deducted $1.59 each but it took off $3 each! My daughter brought it to their attention and they left it at $3.00!! That was awesome because it was unexpected overage! The tearpad is good until 6/12 so I see more free sour cream in the future!

UPDATE: THIS DEAL GETS EVEN SWEETER! I FOUND A COUPLE BOOKLETS TODAY AT THE ST. JOHNS TOWN CENTER PUBLIX AND THEY HAD A $1/3 H.V. RANCH COUPON IN THEM. BUY 6 H.V. RANCH AND 2 W.D. SOUR CREAM AND GET $2.03 OVERAGE!

***HOT DEAL IF YOU NEED A NEW BOXSPRING AND MATTRESS***

As many of you know I work at Lighthouse Interiors. I am in the process of getting a new mattress and boxspring for my daughter. I got the OK to offer this DEAL to any of my readers! If you are in the market or will be in the market for a new mattress and boxspring, you will not want to miss this deal! I will be offering to all family and friends of St. Augustine Savers Coupon Workshop a Queen size box and mattress with a Hypoallergenic Bamboo Cover in Plush or Firm for $499 for the set. If you go to a local mattress store in town, this mattress is on their floor for $999! THAT IS A SAVINGS OF 50% and I know how much we all like savings!!
A king size in the same mattress will be available for $699.

This set has a pocketed coil system so there is no transference of motion when your partner moves. The Bamboo Cover is awesome in that it is very "green", cool to your skin in the summer and warm in the winter. Dust mites will not go in a bamboo cover which is a big plus! Have you seen those commercials lately where they tell you your mattress doubles in weight in 8 years? due to dust mites, body fluids, etc.

If you have been considering trading in your mattress for a new one, now is the time to do it! You can go and see and lay on this mattress at the local store in town but PLEASE DON'T TELL THEM YOU ARE TESTING THEIRS AND BUYING IT FROM US!! This offer will be available thru the first week of December

Contact me and I will let you know which store and which mattress and boxspring is the one you need to look!

(I am also working on getting another set which is sold by designers only and apparently is the "cadillac" of mattresses. It is one of those mattresses that you need a ladder to get into bed! I will be getting a great deal on this set also. This set would sell for $1999+ for a queen at the mattress store!)

HERE ARE THE PRICES THAT I KNOW OF SO FAR:

Serenity Queen Plush or Firm $499
Serenity King Plush or Firm $699

Essence Queen Pillow Top $599
Essence King Pillow Top $799

Palms Queen Plush & Firm (TOP OF THE LINE) $699

COUPON WORKSHOP 11/16 TIME CHANGE!

I am changing the time of the next coupon workshop to 6:30 instead of 6:00. Please let me know if you are interested in attending!

PUBLIX 11/9/10, SPENT $10.85, SAVED 86%

Sorry there is no picture for this trip. I had to fly into the house, put away my refrigerated items and run out with my husband to pick up my mother-in-law who was getting released from the hospital. After all that, I didn't feel like digging it all again and taking a picture.

This is what I bought:

14 Chicken/Beef Broth
2 Krustez Cookie Mix
2 Coffee Mate
2 Edy's Ice Cream
Bananas
Cool Whip
Onions
Fried Chicken (I knew I wouldn't cook dinner so picked up chicken!)
8 Uncle Bens Rice
2 Pepperidge Farm Bread

I had instructions from my daughter to pick up pumpkin ice cream and coffee creamer. Otherwise, had I not purchased the ice cream, I would have only paid $5.56!!

WHERE ARE ALL THE THANKSGIVING DEALS?

Come on Publix! Where are all the Thanksgiving deals? I spent about $15 in groceries last week and my list for the new ad that starts Thursday has three items on it! Looks like it will be another slim week for me! But that doesn't mean we won't eat well. We had Beef Stew tonight, will have Baked Chicken on Tuesday, Beef Strogonoff over noodles on Wednesday, Japanese Chicken, fried rice and zuchhini on Thursday, and Steak, twice baked potatoes and corn on the cob on Friday all without needing anything from the grocery store. I still have 9 half-gallons of milk in my refrigerator plus deli meat from last week. All I have to do is buy a few fresh veggies and I am good for another week.

Let's hope and pray the ad that begins on Nov. 18th has some better deals! I am waiting for the sweet potatoes to go on sale!

BLACK FRIDAY ADS

Holy moley there are a lot of pre-Black Friday sales going on! If you thought that Black Friday was THE day to shop, start rethinking that. Now is the time to start watching the circulars. A good way to stay on top of this is by subscribing to the email alerts at Blackfriday. There are lots of websites that track the Black Friday deals, but that one is my favorite. It's hard to believe that the holiday sales are starting, but they are. Go here to look at some of the sneak peeks for Black Friday!

TIDE STAIN RELEASE IN ACTION

I came home today to find a large gross yellow spot on my Burnhardt sofa in my living room. I gasped and immediately looked at the two culprits happily wagging their tails greeting me at the door without a care in the world that one of them vomited on it. I don't own two dogs. I only have one, and I think I know which one did it. If I were a betting woman, I would venture to say it was my brothers dog I am watching. He has been munching away at my dogs food and I think it did not agree with his stomach.

This is where the Tide Stain Release comes in to play. Last year, I probably got about 20 of these for FREE and I save them for such occasions as this. I pulled off the cover and threw it in my washer. Did I mention that I decided to sell this sofa and loveseat to get a new one? Did the dog instinctively know that? Thankfully, the stain came out and the cover looks as good as new thanks to Tide Stain Release! I sound like I could do a commerical for them!

MORE STOCKPILE RECIPES! WARM SOUP ON A COLD NIGHT

How many of you have canned tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, pasta, beef stock, beans and ground beef in your stockpile? If you are like me, you have plenty of the above mentioned grocery items! Last year when the first cold snap hit, kidney beans were wiped off the shelf! Not to worry if you are a couponer! You will have plenty on your shelf. What two things go together on a cold night? You guessed it! Soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Here is a good recipe you might want to try!

2 lbs. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
3 carrots, chopped
2 (28) oz. cans diced tomatoes (I only used 2- 14 oz. cans)
1 16 oz. can red kidney beans (I used 1 -14 oz.)
1 16 oz. can white kidney beans (I used 1- 14 oz)
32 oz. beef stock (on sale BOGO this week)
3 tsp. oregano
2 tsp. pepper
5 tsp. parsley
1 tsp. Tabasco sauce (optional)
1 20 oz. jar spaghetti sauce
8 oz. pasta (I used less)

Brown your ground beef and drain. You can either do this in a crockpot or on stove top. Cook in crockpot for 7-8 hours or on stovetop until vegetables are done. Add cooked pasta at very end. This soup reminds me of one of my favorites at Olive Garden! Let me know how you like it!

Serve with grilled cheese sandwiches. Lord knows I still have plenty of cheese!
I will try to get a picture posted later.

PUBLIX SPENT $1.06, SAVED 98%

How many times have I said you will find new products that you never would have bought had you not got them for FREE! Well, Olivio Spreadable Butter is one of those products! In all, I got 8 of them for FREE! I used to only buy Land O Lakes Spreadable Butter because nothing is better than salami with butter on a roll! Make it a homemade roll and it is even better! I tried the butter and I loved it! Add another item to the list! My cashier was someone I had never gone to before and she asked me for my coupons up front and spread them all out. Luckily, she didn't get me on a big week when I am loaded down with coupons! Of course, they all matched up and I just smiled. This is what I bought for $1.06

Publix Pie Crust (to make another quiche!)
Bakery Italian Bread
Helluva Good Chip Dip (to go with those Wise Chips)
4 Olivio Spreadable Butter
6 Texas Garlic Toast
Grape Tomatoes
Carrots
5 Renuzit
2 Os Cal Calcium Tablets
1 can Beef Broth

TOTAL SPENT $1.06...and I walked away again with a big smile on my face!

PUBLIX 11/4/10, SPENT $13.71, SAVED 92%

I looked at the ad this week and said to myself what another lousy week. I knew I wouldn't be buying much so I took that as an opportunity to use some more rainchecks before my coupons expired. I was also happy this week to use a $2 Publix Q for Maybeline Mascara to make them less than $1.50 each. It was great timing because I just said to myself this morning I needed to be watching out for a mascara deal because I only had 1 left in my stockpile! This is what I purchased:

2 Wise Chips (possibly the best chips EVER!)
4 Rubbermaid Containers
2 Cucumbers
2 Green onions
bananas
8 Vigo Yellow Rice
Robitussin Cough Medicine (check your coupons, I had a Wags $2 catalina)
2 Maybelline Mascara
6 Uncle Bens Whole Grain White Rice (used BOGO Q)
Potato Rolls
2 Colgate Toothpaste
Bread Flour
8 Bushs' Grillin' Beans
2 Bushs Cannellini Beans
5 Similac Formula
2 Coffee Mate Creamer
10 Smart Balance Milk (used RC)
6 Hefty Trash Bags (used last of RC and am fully stocked for at least 1 year!)
2 doz. eggs

The milk had expiration dates of December 28th and December 15th. I won't be buying milk until after Christmas! I used the last of my raincheck to buy the Hefty Trash Bags paying only $1.69 box! They normally sell for $6.99 a box! I think my eyes are starting to slant because of all the rice. Again, some of this is getting donated to a needy family so I don't keep all of it! If I see a good deal, I pick up extra to give away. The beans have an expiration date of 2013 so I thought they were worth stocking up! I told the cashier to pull off two $1 tags off the garbage bags and I didn't pay attention after that. I realized when I got home he forgot to pull them off. I would have only paid $11.71

MY OWN PERSONAL DRUG STORE RIGHT AT MY FINGERTIPS!

My husband seems to have picked up the flu bug and didn't sleep last night. Well, you know what that means, I didn't sleep either. Today he asked me if I had any NyQuil. Now what kind of question is that? Do you know who you are talking to?? Not only do I have J-Mart out in my garage but I also have JVS (get it...not CVS) in my bathroom! So what flavor of NyQuil would you like...Cherry or Original?

Before couponing I would have trucked off to CVS to buy an over-priced bottle of NyQuil. Not anymore! Any aliment you have I have the product to make you feel better. Sinus dripping? I've got it! Excessive gas? Got that too! Menstrual cramps? Got it! Constipated? Got it! Sore throat, cough, fever? Yes, you guessed it! Got that also!

So what am I doing tomorrow? Going to Walgreens again and picking up 2 more Afrin and 2 more Vicks Sinux, using my $6 RR and paying $.34 OOP, getting back $7 RR and adding it to my stockpile!

By the way, everything is in baskets in the back. It just looks messy in the front because you know who was rooting around for cough medicine!

Even if you don't have that booklet, you can use the $5/2 Green Advantage Flyer Coupon instead!

Fresh Mushrooms
Pack of gum
TOTAL OOP $.30 due to the overage on the formula!

ANOTHER STOCKPILE DINNER!

How many of you still have eggs from the BOGO Egg coupon? How many of you still have BOGO egg coupons? I know I do! I think I had 8 of them! So what else do you do with a bunch of eggs but make quiche! Now when I was a kid my grandma used to make oranges and eggs. Now before you gag, let me tell you it was really good! You would cut up navel oranges and toss with hard-boiled eggs. Put a little oil and salt on it and there you have oranges and eggs! What is funny is I HATE eggs but I can eat both of these. You wouldn't get me close to a deviled egg! Not my fav.

A simple recipe for quiche but oh sooo good!

Put cooked broccoli, sauteed mushrooms, bacon, 1 1/2 cups cheese in bottom of pie crust shell. Mix 6 eggs with 1 1/2 cups milk, onions, S & P and bake at 375 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes. Serve with a salad. I also made those onions with the bacon wrapped around them and all I could say is YUM!! I think anything wrapped in bacon would be awesome!

CVS 11/2/10, SPENT $16.04

I couldn't pass up the $20 rebate for the Olay Regenerist so I went into CVS and bought all the above for $16.04 including tax. Plus I will send in for a $20 rebate from Oil of Olay. The Regenerist sells for $24.99 so getting all the above for pennies over $16 was a deal. The deal gets better because I still have a $3, $5, $2, and $8.99 ECB to roll again! Gotta love CVS!!

My OOP for the cough syrup, body wash and 2 battery powered toothbrushes was $.60. The balance was the Regenerist!

COOK FROM YOUR STOCKPILE DINNER

OK, a photographer I am not...but just before I sat down to eat, I snapped a picture. I would have placed it prettier on the plate had I known. How many of you still have cream cheese left over from the Kraft $5/5 deal? I still had 4 in my refrigerator as well as 4 packages of Buitoni Refrigerated Pasta. So I decided to cook from my stockpile and made this. My husband loved it as well as my daughter! I guess that means it's a keeper. The best thing is that you cook it in the crockpot!

Place 4 pieces of chicken in the crockpot. Melt 1T of butter and pour over top and sprinkle a package of Good Seasons dry italian mix on it. I cooked on high for 4 hours, or you can cook on low all day. 45 minutes before it is done, place 1 can cream of mushroom soup in saucepan along with one 8 oz. block of cream cheese, cut up, onion (chopped) and 1/2 cup sherry. Heat up and pour over chicken in crockpot and cook an additional 45 minutes in crockpot.

I served over Buitoni pasta and sauteed zuchhini and onions that needed to be used wehn I paid $.99 lb. for them!

Send in your "Cook from your stockpile" recipes so we can post them here!

CVS 11/1/10, SPENT $4.99 PLUS TAX

I had a $12 and $5 ECB that were expiring in a few days. I wanted to buy the Olay Regenerist Cream that sells for $25 and put my ECB's to work towards that. When I scanned my card at the magic coupon machine, I got a $3 off $15 Cosmetics CRT! This is what I purchased:

1 Olay Regenerist $24.99
1 Olay Ribbons Body Wash (got free with above purchase)
1 CoverGirl Outlast Lip Color (LOVE the moisturizer you get with this)

Use $3 and $1 MQ, $3/15 and $5/20 CVS Q and $12 and $5 in ECB's. My total OOP was $4.99 plus tax AND I got back $5, $3, $3 in ECB's...and then I will submit for the $20 rebate when I reach $50 in purchases

MY WALGREENS SCENERIO 11/1/10

I started out with $6 in RR and bought the following:

2 Vicks DayQuil Sinus
2 Afrin Spray
1 Hunts Tomato Sauce (filler item) (use in-ad Q)

Each of these were $5 each. I used two $4 Q's and two $3 Q's PLUS my $6 RR and paid $.34 for all of the above PLUS got back $5 and $2 in RR to roll into next week!
