They also have plenty of citrus in stock and I can personally vouch for the navel oranges. They are so darn good! Coming in next week will be locally grown cabbage and califlower.

Stop by Stewart's and tell him I sent you! While you are there, grab some italian sausage. I think it is the best in town!

MOVIE DEAL HERE IN ST. AUGUSTINE

My friend Michelle T. called me and told me she found movies at Walmart with a blue sticker on them with a unique Hollywood movie code.

She was able to use the movie certificate at the local movie theater here in St. Augustine and just had to pay a little bit more. She did not see a 3D movie and it was not a Warner Bros. movie.

So head to Walmart and look for the specially marked movies and treat yourself to a day at the movies! Just go HERE and follow the directions to print off a voucher for $7.50 a movie. The certificates are only good until 1/12/12.

$5 OFF $50

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday. My daughter and her family were in town and are leaving this Friday evening. I have enjoyed my 3 year old granddaughter (who never stops talking from the minute her eyes open) and my 9 week old grandson, Anderson.

To say the least, I have not had time for couponing or posting or anything else!

I did want to point out that in todays Red Plum delivered in the mail, there is a coupon for $5 off $50 from Publix. Make sure you cut it out of your flyer. If you have any Enjoy the City books, you can combine the $5 PQ and the $5 WD Q to get $10 off your $50 bill.

BEST PAPER TOWEL

This morning I saw on the news a study from Consumer Reports testing various paper towels from name brands to store brands to "green" varieties.

Paper towels were wet and scrubbed, pulled twisted, and put through various tests to test their strength.

The number 1 paper towel that proved to be the best was Bounty. The Bounty Basic didn't score as well but still did a decent job.

None of the "green" paper towels proved to do that well. Another notable mention went to Walmart's Great Value paper towel. It was not as strong but is 25% less money than Bounty.

When we get an awesome sale on Bounty and use coupons, there is no reason to buy Great Value Paper Towels. Last time they were on sale at Publix, I bought about 5 cases to add to my stock! I was able to get the best paper towel at a price cheaper than Walmarts' name brand!

ST. AUGUSTINE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

Did you know that St. Augustine was named one of the 10 best places to see Christmas Lights? In fact, they are one of two cities (the other being Callaway Gardens in Georgia) on the list that are in the United States!

Some of the other places include Brussels and Hong Kong. Good thing we live here and don't have to travel to see the beautiful Christmas Lights!

Take the time to visit downtown and see the beautiful display of lights! I have also heard Turning Point Church off SR 16 by the outlet mall is also an awesome display of lights put to music. I hope to get there in the next few days when my grandkids come in town!

GREAT DEAL ON INDIANA POPCORN

I LOVE THIS STUFF! I usually get a bag if I remember when I go to Walmart.

If you head to Walgreens this week, you can get a bag of this popcorn for just $.99 a bag.

Go HERE and like them on FB, click on coupons and print as many coupons as your little heart desires. I printed four and bought four bags.

I plan on getting a few more bags. The bags I get don't expire until May 2012.

LOOK WHAT I CAME HOME TO!

What a surprise when I came home today and found this adorable cute little shopping cart with a poinsetta in it at my front door. In the seat of the cart were coupons and a Starbucks Gift Card.

I knew immediately who it was from and a big smile came across my face. In fact, I think I even talked out loud like someone was there to hear me! I opened the card to find a kind note from my friend and coupon buddy Michelle T. She is one of the kindest people I know. If you ever need anything and call her, she will never disappoint you.

When I put it on my blog that I was looking for grocery items to give to a family, guess who was there first with bags for them...you got it Michelle! When I need an extra coupon I know she will always share if she has it. If she finds books, guess who always shares...Michelle! If she has extra $5/$50 coupons, guess again who always shares...Michelle.

Thank you Michelle for being a wonderful, kind, friend. I consider myself lucky to have Michelle in my life and to have a special friend who enjoys couponing as much as I do!

NEW COUPON CLASS SCHEDULED

I have received many phone calls about when I am going to have the next coupon class!

The next class will be held on January 10th at 6:30 pm. The class will be 2 hours long and will be held at my home in Davis Shores at 89 Dolphin Drive.

If you are interested in signing up for this class, please contact me at 540-5225 or e-mail me at judiray56@yahoo.com.

Looking forward to hearing from all of you!

NEED A CHRISTMAS TREE?

Are you one of those people who wait until Christmas Eve to put up your tree? Well if you are you are in luck!

Thanks to Margaret who e-mailed me to let me know the trees at Food Lion are all marked down to $9.95. Now that is a deal! The trees are also marked down at Publix but theirs are $20.

I guess people do this and keep it up until the end of January. Not me...I am ready to get it down right after New Years. The house seems empty for about 3 minutes but then I get used to it again.

So if you need a tree, head over to Food Lion and get yours for under $10!!

MY PUBLIX SHOW AND TELL 12/17/11

This week at Publix was finally a decent week. I had two $5 off $50 PQ's that expired on Sunday so I tried to keep my total as close to $100 as possible. Trying to do mental math while putting things in your cart is not easy! I thought I had about $107 in my cart, but my total before coupons was $115.58.

When I got up to the register, the cashier said to me "Your ears must have been ringing". "Someone was just telling me about the class you teach and how much she has learned and has saved". The cashier obviously knew I was the one who taught the class.

I got the last 3 K-Y on the shelf and stocked up on crackers, cheese, milk. I might head to the Shores Publix for my trip on Wednesday because they might have plenty of K-Y left!! This is what I bought for $19.16 including tax.

2 Kellogs Cocoa Krispies
1 Rice Krispies
2 Ritz Simply Wheat
4 Ritz Crackers
3 Wheat Thins
2 Kraft Colby Cheese
Coffemate
2 Muellers Pasta
Bakery Rye Bread
2 Sour Cream
5 Smart Balance Milk
Butterscotch chips
Lg. Bag of M&M's (FREE wyb 2 Rice Krispies peelie on box)
4 Friskies Cat Treats (overage)
2 Chinet Napkins
2 Sundown Vitamins
1 Theraflu
2 Alka-Seltzer
3 K-Y Jelly (overage)
Bananas
2 Gallons Publix Tea
Blueberry Muffin Mix

I was able to use three $5 off $30 Winn Dixie coupons and 2 $5 off $50 PQ's to take an immediate $25 off the bill before any other coupons! That is why I ALWAYS buy the Enjoy the City books. I LOVE always being able to use a $5 coupon off my bill.

The Enjoy the City book is still available for a short time. Read my previous post on how to get yours!

After my coupons I saved 89%!!!

KRAFT SHREDDED CHEESE

Kraft Shredded Cheese is BOGO this week for $3.99. Go HERE and use zip 32080 to print off a coupon for $1 off a lb. of cheese. I am buying 6 of them and will use three $1/1 coupons and will end of paying $1.50 each.

Considering cheese is so expensive these days, I am happy to pay $1.50 each.

NO COUPONS FOR PAD THAI

After I went to Publix today and spent $12.66, I ventured over to the Asian Market on 207 and spent another $12. I have a serious love affair with the Pad Thai from Mama Fu's in Jacksonville. I was needing a Pad Thai fix but couldn't make it to Jax so I thought I would make it for myself.

After googling Pad Thai and coming up with so many different variations of the recipe (some even included ketchup), I settled on one that sounded very Thai and headed to the Asian store. Talk about confusing! Half of the items are in Chinese and the other half are so wierd you wonder who would even eat it! The nice lady in the store showed me the ingredients I needed. After spending $12 on rice, Tofu, and Pad Thai ingredients I headed home.

You are supposed to put bean sprouts in the recipe but I couldn't see my husband eating bean sprouts so I substituted zucchini instead. I also bought fish sauce and was going to attempt to make my own Pad Thai sauce. Let's just say that will be the last time I will try to do that! The fish sauce stunk up my house sooo bad that I thought my daughter was going to throw up! I luckily bought a bottle of pre-made Pad Thai sauce that was just delicious with just the right amount of spices that I ended up using.

The end result was delicious Pad Thai!! Guess where I am going again tomorrow...to buy more Pad Thai sauce and rice noodles. I can't wait to make it again!

If you are looking for a delicious and different dish, try making it! Publix doesn't have the rice noodles or the sauce so head over to the asian market. Just be forwarned, you can't use coupons there!

LEAPFROG LEAP PAD

The Leapfrog LeapPad is the hottest item this year on most parents' lists. They came back in stock on the Leapfrog website only to go out-of-stock very quickly! They are selling on e-bay for much more than the $99 asking price.

If you are in the market for one of these, check Books A Million. My daughter found one there and I called and found some in stock at the Regency Store.

There are so many people checking Target, Walmart, K-Mart, Toys-R-Us, etc., that they forget about Books A Million. So if you are in the market for one of these, give them a call and I hope you get one!

LIFECYCLE OF A COUPON

Have you wondered what ever happened to a coupon after you hand it over? Then you will enjoy this to explain it all

FLORIDA TIMES UNION NEWSPAPER DEAL

I am reposting this because it is such a good deal for your second paper

Calling all couponers!! Are you looking to get another newspaper delivered each week?

Then you will be one happy camper because The Florida Times Union is offering a deal you cannot pass up! Right now they are offering a 7-day subscription to the paper for only $10 for the month for 6 months. The deal gets even better because you will get a $5 gift card when you sign up! The only thing they ask is you keep getting the paper for at least 6 months.

They also have a deal for Sunday only and you can get up to 10 papers delivered to you home each week.

Give PJ a call and she will explain all the details on the special offered by the Times Union. She can be reached at 325-1986. She also works for Comcast so if you are looking to switch carriers, she is the one you need to talk to!

WALGREENS AND SWEET TART DEAL

Call me crazy but what college student wouldn't love 24 packages of Sweet Tarts in their stocking? That is what my daughter will find in her stocking along with many other fun things!

You can do this deal also! I went to the beach Walgreens and did the transaction 4 times...and yes, there were 1 1/4 cases left on the shelf.

Go in and buy 6 Sweet Tarts and use the $.75/3 coupon in the December booklet. It will automatically take off $1.50. The first time you will pay $1.68 and it will give you a $1 Catalina that you can use on your very next transaction. The next transaction will cost you $.68 and so will every other transaction after that.

I paid $3.72 for 24 packages of Sweet Tarts and can go back and do it again if I want.

I can't wait to see her face when she sees all those Sweet Tarts! She and her roommate will love them!

TARGET

Target - I love them and hate them. I had bought a sweater on sale from $19.99 to $9.99 and then used the $4 off sweater coupon. I grabbed the wrong size and just wanted to swap it out for the correct size. I didn't have my receipt and I paid cash so they couldn't look it up with my credit card.

All I wanted was an even swap, same sweater, nothing difficult.

The sweater was coming up in their system at $9.99 which is what I paid. That was fine. But they wouldn't let me swap. The new sweater (same thing) was now only 30% off instead of the 50% when I bought it so they wanted me to pay the difference. I DON'T THINK SO!! I took my sweater back and will check back with another Target. Sometimes their return policies can be so difficult!

On a much better note, I went in there to pick up a few things I needed and got the following great deal for my daughter. Go to the endcap in the baby department and look for the 3 pack of J&J Baby Wash, Baby Bath, and Baby Lotion which is on sale for $4.49 from $9.99. I used the $3 coupon that is no longer available (check your binders) and got each set for $1.49 each! These are FULL-SIZE bottles! At least I walked out of there with a half of a smile on my face!

COLD AND FLU SEASON BOOKLET FOUND IN PHARMACY

When you go into Publix, head over to the Pharmacy and look for this booklet. Just like the Johnson and Johnson products last month, this one will get you some cheap Theraflu.

There is a $2 off Theraflu Publix coupon in this book. Stack that PQ with the variety of coupons found in last Sunday's SS (12/4) and get cheap Theraflu.

When you are paying about $.50 for an item like this, it is great to have in your stockpile in case you need it. Why not pick up one for yourself and another to donate!

HUSBANDS AND SHOPPING TRIPS

My last shopping trip to Publix was supposed to be small and nothing to really write home about. The weeks after Thanksgiving are known to be ads that are not as enticing to the couponer. My plan was to go in and spend a whopping $12. I had it figured down to the penny.

That was before my husband walked into the store with me!

The minute we entered the store, he walked right over to the Lloyd's BBQ, umm, not on my list. The next thing in the cart was a Publix sub, again, not on my list. It continued...Publix tea, 2 bags of chips and a few other items.

After adding up what he had put in the cart I told him my total was going to now be $35!! Sure enough, it was pretty darn close...$34.06!!

The lesson here is don't bring your husband with you shopping! Random items will ALWAYS be put in the cart and shoot down your well-planned OOP expense!

PUBLIX 11/30/11, SPENT $25.52 BEFORE GAS CARDS

Today was the last day of the gas card deal. I brought out my rainchecks for items that I would use anyway and brought my total up to $88.31 before coupons. After my three gas cards at $40 each, my bill was $208.31.

My total after my coupons was $145.52. That means I paid $25.52 for all these groceries and received three $50 gas cards.

When I was walking out of the store I found 2 receipts that someone had crumbled up and they totaled over $30. I walked back in the store and was able to buy 1 more gas card without even buying any groceries! I was able to get a total of 8 gas cards this week.

This week I bought:

Zuchhine
Ginger
Eggs
Bibb Lettuce
2 Naturally Fresh Lite Dressing
Publix Crumbled Blue Cheese
2 Luna Bars
1 Scott Bath Tissue
1 Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste
2 Johnson & Johnson First Aid Kit
2 J&J Guaze Pads
3 Neosporin
6 All Detergent - used RC
4 Rachel Ray Nutrish Dog Treats
1 Stouffers Mac and Cheese
6 Smart Balance Milk - used RC

I found a booklet in the Publix pharmacy that was called Diabeties Awareness. It had a coupon for $3/2 wyb a J&J and Neosporin Product. When I stacked that PQ with a $2 MQ for Neosporin and a $1/1 coupon for J&J, I was able to get all the products for FREE. I did the deal three times to bring up my total for the gas card deal. You can do a deal similar to this using the coupons from the green adv. flyer but you will have to buy 2 J&J items until Dec. 9th.

My daughter will be coming home from college in 2 weeks for the winter break so my milk will disappear really fast! When she was home for the Thanksgiving break my milk was gone! I feel sorry for any of you with multiple children who love milk!

SOME GOOD PET DEALS BEGINNING 12/3

Purina Beggin Strips will be on sale in the yellow advantage flyer for $4 each. You can get a good deal if you use the $1 Publix coupon from HERE and stack with the printable coupon from HERE.

You will end up paying $1 per bag.

Purina Friskies Party Mix Cat Treats will be $1.25 each beginning 12/3 in the Yellow Adv. Flyer. Use the B1G1 coupon from the 9/25 RP and two $1/1 Publix coupons from HERE and get $.75 overage wyb 2!

Here's another one for you. Rachel Ray Nutrish Dog Treats are $2.99 a bag. Buy 2 bags and use one BOGO coupon from the 11/13 SS and stack with two $1/1 Publix coupons from HERE and stack with the $1.50 printable (sorry no longer available)

Whew! Those are some good deals!

PUBLIX 11/28/11, SPENT $23.88 NOT INCLUDING 4 GAS CARDS

Shopping at Publix after Thanksgiving is ALWAYS a letdown. Publix made the letdown a little bit easier by offering us the gas card deal. But there was literally nothing I saw in the ad that enticed me in...so hello rainchecks!

I pulled out several rainchecks and I had coupons to match up with every single one of them. Does it surprise you? This is what I bought:

10 Dr. Pepper (all FREE using RC from last week and yell. adv. flyer q)You will notice they are still in my car because they are being donated.
6 Rondele Garlic Herb Cheese - FREE plus $3.00 overage
6 Publix Raisen Bran Cereal - used $1 PQ to pay only $.49 a box
6 Vanity Fair Napkins, 100 ct. - used RC from last week and got all for FREE
6 Vanity Fair Bowls - used MQ's and 3 yell. adv. flyer Q
6 Hefty Trash Bags - used RC and 6-$1.00 q's
2 Schick Shave Cream - used FREE q's from mftr
1 Scott Bath Tissue
4 Hungry Jack Pancake Mix - FREE with TQ
2 pkgs. squash
2 Luna Bars
Saurkraut
Bananas

My total before coupons was $106.44 and was $23.88 after all coupons. I then added 4 gas cards to make my total $183.88. The trash bags alone were normally $7.59 each which would have been $45.54 plus tax if I didn't have a RC!

My trip was a complete success! I tried to spend the least amount OOP to get the most gas cards I could. I had a few other items to buy like milk, salad dressing, nappa cabbage, etc. but decided to do them on my next visit because they only had three 1/2 gallons of milk left. I have a raincheck for 6 so I tried to make my total above as close to $100 as possible. I will go back and get my additional items and get my total to $50 before coupons to get 2 more gas cards.

This gas card week was definitely not as good as the last where I got 22 gas cards! I still have some of those left...$500 worth to be exact!

MY CVS RUN 11/27/11

God was smiling down on me today. Yesterday my daughter told me she needed contact solution. Believe it or not, that is the one item I do not stock. She also found 6 twin pack boxes of Glade Plug-ins that apparently had her name written all over them!

She asked if I could please stop at CVS since I have all those ECB's and get her some contact solution and the Glade warmer for the refills she found. I was supposed to stop last night after church and I forgot. This is where the God smiling down on me comes in!

I got up at 3:30 am because I couldn't sleep and decided to put together my CVS list for today. Guess what is on it! Yep! Contact Solution for $8.99, get $8.99 ECB's back. The Glade warmers were also on sale for $.99 each and there was a $2 off 2 coupon, making them totally FREE!

Thank you Lord! You blessed me today with a sale on contact solution and Glade warmers. Instead of spending $14.01 for 2 boxes of solution and 2 boxes of warmers, I paid $1.07 for 2 boxes of contact solution and 8 boxes of Glade warmers!

And the best part...I received two $8.99 ECB's back, a total of $17.98. The fun really comes into play when you have $40 in ECB's left at the end of the year and you have to go in and spend them!

MY THANKSGIVING CVS HAUL

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving spending it with family and friends. After making my stuffing and throwing my turkey in the oven at 8 am, I ran to CVS to do the infamous ECB deals. I bought the following in 5 transactions and used 2 cards. This is what I bought:

1 Balance Bar
2 Advil
Kleenex
2 Cepacol
2 York Peppermint Patties
1 Sheets Energy Strips
2 Listerine Pocketpack
2 Advil PM
1 Pepto Bismol
1 Recees Peanut Butter Cup
2 Finish D/W Detergent
2 Breathe Right
2 Carmax
2 Theraflu
1 Snickers
2 Excedrin (which really was 4 Excedrin because there was a free box attached to each one!)

1 Colgate Toothpaste
Carmel

My total OOP was $4.52 and I received $30.60 in ECB back. I could have actually gone back and done a few more transactions, but I felt I had enough stuff!

I still have another $10 in ECB's in my wallet so I have a total of $40.50 in ECB to spend before the end of the year. How fun!!

PUBLIX 11/23/11, SPENT $8.59, SAVED 88%

How many of you out there eat Thanksgiving dinner mid afternoon so you could eat some turkey sandwiches later that night? I still haven't decided if I am going out with the crazy people to do the Black Friday thing at midnight. Do I want to do it? The answer is no but my daughter is trying to convince me to go with her.

I forgot to do the Sargento Cheese deal with the free eggs from the All The Trimmings Book and I had to buy my rolls today for those turkey sandwiches. Now all I had to do was come up with a $50 order to use my $5 off $50 publix coupon as well as my Living Social Winn Dixie coupon. This is what I came up with. By the way, my total before coupons was $50.34...now that is cutting it too close!

4 Sargento Shredded Cheddar
2 Iced Tea
2 Potato Rolls
6 Cream Cheese
3 Pancake mix
4 Velveeta Mac & Cheese
2 Swanson Chicken Broth
1 Land O Lakes Spreadable Butter
3 Limes
1 Pie Crust
2 Doz. Eggs
5 lb. sugar
1 Oscar Mayer Bacon

It sure doesn't take long to get to $50! After my coupons and PQ and WD coupon, my total was $8.59. I've got enough cream cheese to get me through the holidays and I see some Parmasean Cream Cheese Dip in my future (recipe below).

PARMASEAN CREAM CHEESE DIP

2 pkgs cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup parmasean cheese
1/4 cup scallions
10 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

Mix all together and refrigerate for at least 3 hours. Get ready to inhale the whole thing! Serve with the Triscit Crackers you got for $.85 a box this week! I guarantee everyone will want the recipe!

DID YOU KNOW?

DID YOU KNOW:

My store has apparently adopted a new policy with Publix coupons where I only have to physically have one coupon with the LU code and I can use it as many times as I need to. It really would eliminate the need to grab more thana few booklets!

You may want to check at your store to see if this is true for them. It sure would be nice to only have to have one coupon to do a deal multiple times. All they would do would be to enter the LU# for the number of deals you are doing.

I know this is true for the SR 16 store. Please let me know if you shop at another store what their policy is! Thanks!!

GAS DEAL STARTING AGAIN THIS THURSDAY

Leave it to Publix to give us the gas card deal on a slow week. If you saw the new ad, I can probably say it for everyone that it stinks. It doesn't surprise me. The next few weeks after Thanksgiving are typically bad ads for Publix.

With that being said, it's time to pull out all of your rainchecks and put them to go use. Remember, we want to get our total as high as possible to get as many gas cards as possible and then bring down our total with coupons.

Hopefully, you have some of the Living Social Enjoy the City $5/$30 coupons. That will bring down our total down even further.

LIVING SOCIAL DEAL AGAIN! MORE $5/$30 WD COUPONS!

Here it is again! The Living Social Enjoy the City Book is at it again. Every time they offer a book, regardless of the city, I buy it. This time is no different.

You can go HERE and order 1 book for $12, 3 books for $30 or 5 books for $40. Inside each book will be four $5/$30 Winn Dixie coupons. Buy 5 books for $40 and get $100 worth of coupons to use at Publix.

As I have said before, this is a no brainer! Sure I have to put out $40 but I am gaining $60 in coupons. These coupons will not expire until the end of December 2012.

The SR 16 store does not make you split your purchases so if you spend $60, you can use 2 of these and take $10 off your bill. Spend $90 before coupons and take $15 off your bill!

These deals usually only last for 2 days. Don't put it off and get your coupon books now!

SHREDDED CHEESE AND EGG DEAL

I totally missed that the Sargento Shredded Cheddar Cheese was BOGO this week. Use your $1.50/1 coupons that you should have printed a few weeks ago and stack with the $.75/2 TQ AND stack with the Free eggs wyb 2 cheese from All The Trimmings Book and get a doz. eggs and 2 shredded cheddar for $.25

I am going to do this deal two times because I have four $1.50/1 cheese coupons. I will pay $.50 for two dozen eggs and 4 shredded cheese.

Now I just have to find room in my refrigerator with 3 turkeys in it!

UPDATE: I FORGOT I HAD AN EXTRA $.55 OFF 2 DOZEN EGGS SO WHEN I PAIR THIS COUPON WITH THE ABOVE SCENERIO, PUBLIX WILL PAY ME ABOUT $.07 TO TAKE IT ALL OUT OF THE STORE!

PUBLIX 11/20/11, SPENT $22.88, SAVED 86%

My husband and I just got back today from a relaxing and fun camping trip to Ft. Clinch in Fernandina Beach. The first night was very cold and all I packed was a hoodie. So I doubled up on the hoodies, flannel pants and socks and sat under a couple of blankets and was fine!

I grabbed all my paper and canned items while I was in Fernandina and saved the bulk of my shopping for here. I ran into Publix today and did an awesome job. My bill before coupons was $114 and after coupons was $22.88. This is what I bought:

6 Dr. Pepper (ALL FREE plus $1 MM with hangtag I had) BOGO sale with BOGO Yell Adv. Flyer Q
(4 not shown)
Quart half & half
Tropicana Orange Juice
Fresh Pineapple
2 pkgs. green beans
Zucchini
bananas
2 Stuffing
6 Cream Cheese
2 I Can't Believe It's Not Butter
1 Publix Butter
3 Crescent Rolls
Jimmy Dean Sausage
2 Evaporated Milk
2 Sour Cream
2 Cool Whip
4 Hungry Jack Pancake Mix
Publix White Mountain Bread
Feta Cheese
2 Degree Deodorant
2 Bounty Paper Towel
Turkey Roasting Pan
10 Oral B Toothbrush
8 Nyquil/Dayquil trial size
3 Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste

My savings after coupons and sales was 86%.

Remember, the Dr. Pepper is all FREE. When you stack the BOGO sale with the BOGO coupon in the yellow advantage flyer, you get them all for free. That is why I bought 6 of them!

I used the last of my stocking spree sheets and MQ's for the Nyqui and Toothbrushes. I only paid $.50 for all those toothbrushes. I like to have them on hand in case someone spends the night and forgets their toothbrush or to keep in the camper.

My store also lets me use two $5/$50 PQ and two $5/$30 WD Q to take $20 off my bill!

UPDATE: Would you believe when I got home I found my coupon for the orange juice and cool whip totaling $2. My total should have been $20.88!! I hate when that happens!

WINTER SAVINGS bOOK

I'm camping in fernindina beach and checked out the local Publix. There must not be any couponers here because by the front door was a cardboard display with tons of books.

I had to go to the customer service desk and noticed the All the Trimmings book behind the counter. They haven't put that one out yet so I just got a few of those. My favorite q is the buy two sargento cheese and get free eggs. I hoped you printed those $1.50/1 cheese coupons a few weeks back.

I'm holding out for a better deal on the cheese. I still have some in the freezer when I paid $.25 or $.50 each!

I did a small shopping trip getting some of the items I needed like chinet plates. They always seem to run out of the oblong plates. I wanted to spend $30 to use my $5/$30 WD coupon and my $3/$30 PQ to get $8 off my total. My total was $36 and I paid $20. I'll go to SR 16 when I get back in town and use another $5 PQ and $5 WD q.

I'm so thankful to save $28 before any q's on my thanksgiving purchases!

HOLD THESE AND WAIT FOR BOGO SALE

Head over HERE to print your MQ for Kraft Salad Dressing.

Then head over HERE to print your Target coupon for $.50 off.
Click on the food catagory to print your coupon.

I would hold on to these to match with a BOGO sale. We got these free last year so let's hope we can do it again! Even if we don't get the BOGO sale this year, using both coupons you can take $1.50 off a bottle of dressing. That's nothing to sneeze at!!

PUBLIX VS WALMART

While I was in Walmart yesterday (you will read that post next), I decided to price-check a few items there vs Publix with their sale.

First I will post the Walmart price and then the Publix price with the sale. I will include any coupon (provided they scan at Walmart) on both items. Each line item is a quantity of two except the Smart Balance Milk and Land O Lakes Butter which is one.

2 Nestle Chocolate Chips $2.56/$.65 or $1.15 depending on which q's you have
2 Recee's Puffs/Lucky Charms $4.00/$1.99
2 Pompeian Olive Oil $8.56/$3.99
1 Land O Lakes Butter $3.48/$2.50 This is for one pkg.
2 Smart Balance Spread $3.96/$.59
1 Smart Balance Milk $1.79/$1.00

OK folks...here is the final total. I could keep going but you could see by the figures that the Publix total is considerably lower than the Walmart total. The totals are...drumroll please...

WALMART $24.35
PUBLIX $10.72
You just saved 56% by shopping at Publix

As you know, when you buy the items that are on sale each week at their lowest price, you will save 50% and more on your grocery total. So when I can get Nestle Chocolate Chips at this time of year for $.32 a pkg (they don't expire until June 2013), I try to buy as many as I can to get me through the next sale. I have already bought 6 and will buy 2 more before the current ad is over. I'll throw them in my freezer and when I want to make chocolate chip cookies, I will have them!

Like Angela said in the next post, Walmart is not just an adventure, it is a nightmare!

ANOTHER REASON NOT TO GO TO WALMART

I needed Liquid Plumber and a few other Walmart type items so I decided to venture there today. Why I picked today, Veterans Day, I'll never know. Every mother and their kids were there along with half of St. Augustine.

I thought my Walmart experience started off good because I scored an awesome parking place. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there!

After getting my Liquid Plumber (FYI - don't put hair dye down your sink) and 2 pkgs of White Cloud toilet paper that was an awesome deal with the $1 coupon, I picked up a few random things while I was there. I love the Farmers Ham from the deli so I got a lb. of that. I found a coupon book while I was in there and bought the Cream of Mushroom/Chicken soup at $.60 each with a $1/4 coupon. I got a loaf of bread, 2 Jiffy Corn Muffin Mixes for dinner and a head of lettuce.I price matched the grapes to Food Lions ad of $1.49 lb. and it started going downhill from there.

At the register my grapes would not do the price match. I was at the self checkout so she had to take me to her register to finish my transaction. After several attempts, and I mean several attempts to get the grapes to price match, it went through.

She proceeded to tell me if my coupons won't scan, they won't take them. Big surprise. All of my coupons, which were printables off Smartsource, etc. went through until we got to the White Cloud toilet paper. She scanned the coupons and the dreaded beep was heard! It felt like you could hear it over the whole store. Again she scanned and BEEP, BEEP, BEEP!!

"I'm sorry we can't take these coupons" she says to me. "If it won't scan, I can't take it." Now I know nothing is wrong with the coupon. The problem is Walmart.

I told her she could take the rolls of toilet paper off and I will go to Target and use it. I was so close to telling her this is why I don't shop at Walmart. I was going in there specifically for the toilet paper, free razors (they were out) and Liquid Plumber.

Did I learn my lesson? I hope so. Not only was it a unpleasurable experience, I had to sit and wait for about 25 cars (no lie) to turn out into the lane just to make the turn on US 1. That's how many cars were pouring in there while I sat there. Poor people. They don't have a clue. They don't know how much more you could save at Publix and shopping be a pleasure!

PUBLIX 11/11/11, SPENT $15.15, SAVED 90%

I ran out of the house today to go to Publix and left my list on the counter. I had my coupons with me so I just had to get what I had coupons for plus what I remembered on my list. I had a raincheck for the Athenos Feta Cheese so I used that as well with the $.75 off blinkies.

A special thanks to Michelle T. for giving me her extra blinkies!!

I took advantage of the toothbrushes for $.05 each and the overage from the Sundown Vitamins, Phazayme, and NyQuil.

This is what I bought:

12 Athenos Feta Cheese
6 Philadelphia Cooking Creme
2 Nestle Break & Bake Cookies
Eggs
3 Smart Balance Milk (only 2 pictured)
4 Progresso Chicken Broth
Publix Iced Tea
6 Nestle Chocolate Chips (use by date is 6/13)
2 Pompeil Olive Oil
Bakery Rye Bread
3 Ore-Ida French Fry
2 Idaho Mashed Potatoes
2 Sundown Vitamins
3 NyQuil Trial Size
6 Ricola Cough Drops

I was also able to use two $3 off $30 PQ's and two $5 off $30 WD q's from the Living Social Book.

I then went to Stewarts and got Italian Sausage to make my Sausage and Corn Chowder tonight (forgot to take some out of freezer) and sweet potatoes for $.49 a lb.
6 Oral B Toothbrushes

Spending $15 for all the above stuff was awesome! I can say one thing...this trip was pleasurable compared to my Walmart trip!

PUBLIX...I'M IMPRESSED!

WOW! I'm impressed! I went over to the Publix website today to register for the Fitness and Nutrition Sweepstakes. While I was there, I posted on their wall about my experience with their "Sweet-n-Low product.

Well, I guess that means I have to tell you the story!

My husband bought a box of Publix brand "Sweet-n-Low". I could embellish the story and tell you he knew there wasn't a coupon available for the name brand, but I would be fibbing! Normally I don't buy store brands because a name brand is always cheaper with a sale and coupon.

So we taste the sweetener in our tea and can't tell any difference. Forward ahead a few months. We needed more...yes, we drink a lot of tea! I bought the same kind because there was no coupon available and the Publix brand was considerably cheaper.

But this time it was different. One packet went in the tea and then another and yet another. There was no change in the taste. I didn't believe him so I tried it and had the same results. It didn't sweeten it AT ALL!

I posted it on the Publix wall and no lie, there was a response from them in 5 minutes! They were going to pass along the information.

I will keep you posted as to what happens in this "sweet" saga.

Thanks Publix for such a quick response!

FROST MINT DEAL DEAD

The good things come to an end sometime. The rolling catalina from Walgreens for the Frost Mints is dead.

I went today to cash in my catalina for a FREE mint and it didn't produce a new one. It was good while it lasted! I think I got 12 of them!

The young cashier at the beach Wags was amazed when I got 2 Clabber Girl baking powder and a Frost Mint for $.14!!

She hasn't seen nothing yet!

PINEAPPLE POSSIBLY $2.99 IN NEW AD

Don't hold me to this but cored pineapple may be available again for $2.99 in the produce department. This is not listed in the ad preview but it was in another region. I love fresh pineapple so this is usually when I buy it when it goes on sale for $2.99!

Another great deal next week is the Kraft Philadelphia Cooking Creme. Make sure you print your coupon now from coupons.com before they disappear. The Target coupon was still available to print as of Tuesday morning. It will be FREE after using both coupons!
