PUBLIX SHOPPING TRIP THIS WEEK

All I needed was bread this week at Publix, so this picture is my weeks grocery shopping (remember my freezer??). I had a coupon for FREE cream cheese minis and decided to pick up the bricks of cream cheese while they were on sale for $1 each and use my $1.25/3 Q. While I was shopping in the store my phone rang 3 times.

Judi: HELLO
Lindsay: Mom, pick up some pretzels while you are there
Judi: I have a coupon for $.55 for them at home!! OK, I will get them for you
PHONE RINGS AGAIN
Judi: HELLO
Lindsay: Mom, pick up some vinegar for dad.
Judi: OH, NO! I have a $.55 coupon for that at home also! OK, if he needs it I will get it.
PHONE RINGS AGAIN
Judi: WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW??
Lindsay: Pick up some Kix Cereal
Judi: Absolutely NOT!! I have a high dollar Q for this at home and I am going to wait until it goes BOGO again! I stood my ground on this one!

With that all said, I had to spend $4.79 on vinegar and pretzels that I didn't intend on buying...so instead of paying $2.69 on everything pictured, I had to pay $7.48! Still not bad when you consider the Pepperidge Farm Bread is $3.69 each

Once you see the money you could save once you start doing this, you will wish you had done it sooner! I look forward to hearing from all of you in the near future!

TARGET DEAL ON ORE IDA FRIES, SPENT $5.79

I still got a good deal but I goofed. I should have used my Soft Scrub Total Bath & Bowl Cleaner coupons last week at Publix to get them for FREE, but I got my weeks messed up and missed it last week (I thought it was this week!) So, I ended up paying $1.20 for each of them but it was still a good deal. Anyway, I paid $5.79 for 6 pkgs of Fries and/or Tater Tots (think Napolean Dynamite!!), 4 cans of Cream of Mushroom/Chicken soup, and 2 Soft Scrub. Still not a bad deal!

Now, let me ask you this...where am I going to fit them in this freezer???

ANOTHER TESTIMONY!!

Thank you Leetha for the following e-mail I received. I LOVE to hear how you guys are doing after taking the class!

Good Afternoon Judi,

I could hardly wait to share with you my last 2 weeks of grocery shopping. My average weekly grocery bill (before taking your class) was $225.00. I started small last week by only saving $64.00 and this week I saved $99.83. I was so excited!!! I know this week will be even better.

Letha took the class on March 9, 2010, so it has not even been 2 weeks yet. Give it another couple weeks and she will be saving 50% and more on her groceries. When she adds the drugstores in, she will really SAVE! Way to go Leetha!!

LOOKING TO MAKE A FEW EXTRA $$$

I never got on the bandwagon of those people who went to a gold party and turned in their unwanted gold pieces. It seemed the people throwing the party were making the most money. I found someone who gives $16 per penneyweight. Basically, you are getting 60% of what the gold is worth. He gets 20% and the people who scrap the gold get the other 20%. I haven't found anyone who is giving this much, especially the pawn shops or the mail-away places.

I was so happy to see that my old scrap gold was worth $1,640! I still kept a few pieces that I could not get rid of! Go see Larry's Jewelry at the St. Augustine Flea Market to get your best deal and tell them I sent you! You will not be disappointed!
He has been in business for over 25 years and had a store at the outlet mall for 16 years.

TOTAL SPENT ON THIS ORDER - $1.42
This was cash money, no register rewards used. Items purchased were 2 dozen eggs, 2 Purex Laundry Detergent, 4 Simply Sleep, and 2 Hershey Symphony LARGE chocolate bars for a total savings of 97%!!!!

I sure hope the Simply Sleep works...I hate hormones!

AND THIS IS HOW IT IS DONE...6 MORE PKGS. OF DELI MEAT TO ADD TO THE 6 I ALREADY HAVE!

I made a special trip back to Publix because I found 6 more coupons in two inserts and bought more deli meat. That brings my total to 12 packages of deli turkey, ham, or roast beef! They are good until the end of April so that means 8 weeks of buying no deli meat!

I paid $4.68 for the six packages and three bottles of Softsoap! The deli meat is on advantage buy until 3/5/10 for $2.50 a package. Combine that with two $1.00 coupons and you pay $.50 per package for deli meat!

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT INSERTS ARE GOING TO BE IN SUNDAY'S PAPER?

Do you want to know what inserts are going to be in this weeks paper? Go here to view the schedule for the inserts. Always make sure you check your paper before you buy it to make sure all the inserts are in there. You are not a happy camper when you pay $1.25 for a paper and there are no inserts because they were not stuffed properly or someone took them!

FOOD SPOILAGE TABLE...FUNNY!! HOW OLD IS TOO OLD?

FOOD SPOILAGE TABLE
EGGS
When something starts pecking its way out of the shell, the egg is probably past its prime.

DAIRY PRODUCTS
Milk is spoiled when it starts to look like yogurt. Yogurt is spoiled when it starts to look like cottage cheese. Cottage cheese is spoiled when it starts to look like regular cheese. Regular cheese is nothing but spoiled milk anyway and can't get any more spoiled than it is already.

MAYONNAISE
If it makes you violently ill after you eat it, the mayonnaise is spoiled.

MEAT
If opening the refrigerator door causes stray animals from a three-block radius to congregate outside your house, the meat is spoiled.

FOOD SPOILAGE CHART:

LETTUCE
Bibb lettuce is spoiled when you can't get it off the bottom of the vegetable crisper without Comet.

CARROTS
A carrot that you can tie a clove hitch knot with it is not fresh.

CHIP DIP:
If you can take it out of its container and bounce it on the floor, it has gone bad.

GENERAL RULE OF THUMB - if you can't find it on this list:
Most food cannot be kept longer than the average life span of a hamster. Keep a hamster in your refrigerator to gauge this.

Thank you HomeMaker's Mentor for the funny clip!

DID I MENTION THAT WE LOVE OLIVES?

Don't pay $1.99 for a can of olives when you can get them at Walgreens this week for $.50 a can when I stacked 2 coupons together. My total came to $7.06 for the olives, 4 Starbucks Frappuccino, and 4 Aveno Daily Moisture Lotion AND I received a $3 Register Reward back to use on my next visit.

That means I only paid $4.06 for all those items!

PUBLIX TRIP 3/3/10

I know I said I was done this week at Publix, but when I saw this deal I could not help but go back. I spent $14.76 which was a savings of 71%!!!

Included in my purchase were 4 packages of deli turkey and 2 packages of deli roast beef, 1/2 gallon soy milk, chick peas, lemons (for hummus), zuchhini, green pepper, strawberries, hot dog buns (to have with my FREE bratwurst), and 4 Right Guard Deodorant.

The deodorant were BOGO and I had a $2/2 coupon which made them $.40 each. The deli meat was on advantage buy for $2.50 each and I used 2 coupons at $1.00 each. That made my deli meat $.50 per package. And the best part is it has an expiration date of the end of April and beginning of May!

When my daughter heard I was going today, she put in her request for soy milk and ingredients for hummus. Since I was freezing, I added a few things to make a pot of vegetable soup. Everthing else I need is in my pantry. Not a bad deal for under $15.00.

LOVE CHOCOLATE??

What kind of a question is that? Who doesn't love chocolate?? I know I eat some every single day. Life simply isn't right without my daily dose of chocolate.

Head over to Walgreens this week and pick up 2 LARGE Hershey or Symphony Bars (my favorite!) and pay only $1.00 plus tax.

Do you want a real treat? Buy the Betty Crocker Supreme brownie mix that are on sale at Publix BOGO for $2.79. Use the $.75/2 coupon from here. Mix the brownies as directed and then pour 1/2 of the mixture into the pan. For the ultimate overload of chocolate, break apart the Symphony Chocolate Bar and place on top. Pour the rest of the brownie mix on top and bake. Can you say YUMMY??!! For just over $3 you can have 2 pans of delicious brownies!

DOES YOUR FAMILY LOVE BLACK OLIVES??

If your family is like mine, we LOVE black olives. We also use them a lot when we make mexican dip. Go here to print off $1 off 2 cans black olives. If you have another computer, use a different e-mail address and it will allow you to print another set. Pair this with the sale at Walgreens this week for $.99 with in-ad Q, and pay only $.99 for both cans of olives. Not a bad deal compared to the price in the grocery stores (usually $1.79 to $1.99).
