MY CVS SCENERIO 10/31

This scenerio has litle to do with ECB's I am getting back but rather getting something I use that I don't want to pay full price for (imagine that!) Olay Regenerist Night Moisturizer is $24.99. I bought my last 3 bottles at Big Lots for $10 and now I am hooked but I don't want to pay that price. This is where ECB's come in. I have a $12 ECB expiring next week as well as a $5 ECB expiring. This is my scenerio:

Buy Olay Regenerist $24.99
Use $3 Q
Use $5 off $15
Use $12 ECB
Pay $4.99 OOP (or I could use both ECB's and pay $0

but...I think I will do the following with my other $5 ECB

Buy Cover Girl Outlast Lipcolor $8
Use $1 9/26 PG
Use $5 ECB
TOTAL DUE $2
GET BACK $3

I love the moisturizing gloss they give you with the lip stain. I would have bought that anyway so I am getting a bonus of a lip stain! Next week, I will have this $3 and my other $5 to roll!

GOOD DEALS AT FOOD LION

Now everyone knows I love Publix...but if Food Lion or Winn Dixie has a good buy, I'm there! This week Food Lion has Boston Butts for $1.47 lb. Put a nice rub on it and put it in the crockpot or in the oven and enjoy awesome pulled pork! (Tyler Florence has the best rub recipe). Also, Holly Farms Chicken Thighs are a good price at $.77 lb. as well as ground beef at $1.47 lb. This is 73% lean so drain off the fat. In fact, I heard you could get rid of a lot of fat by rinsing the cooked meat in a collander. I will also be picking up some Genoa Salami (love this stuff on the bagettes you buy at the Saturday Farmers Market) for $4.99 lb. and red grapes for $.99 lb.

I may even throw some sweet onions at $1.29 in my cart, cut them in wedges and wrap a piece of bacon around them and bake them at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. My mouth is already watering!

The quick frozen chicken wings may be making their way into my cart as well! They are BOGO but no price is listed. My husband makes the best Buffalo wings on the grill!

Can you tell we love meat? Pulled pork, chicken wings salami with fresh bread...sounds like the start of a good Florida Georgia Party!

It's a good thing I am fully stocked up at home!

T.G.I.F. Friday's Appetizers are on sale at Publix BOGO at $8.99.
If you still have the Toss for Cash Booklet, there is a Publix Coupon for $2/1 TGIF Value Size Frozen Snack. Stack 2 of these coupons with the $1.50/2 Quesadilla from the 9/26 SS and get two large boxes of quesadillas for $3.50. That is $1.75 a box...normally $8.99 a box! I normally don't buy things like this, but is it too early to put in your freezer for superbowl??

This coupon expired on 9/30/10 but if you shop at the SR 16 Publix who will take an expired Publix coupon, this is a deal you may not want to pass up!

WALGREENS 10/24, SPENT 1.04

I started this week at Walgreens with $8 in Register Rewards. My first transaction looked like this:

Buy1 Colgate Sensitive TP $3.49
Use $1/1 from 10/10 SS
Buy Contact Cold $6.00
Use $2/1 printable
Buy Trident Gum $.99
Use in-ad Q and $.75 printable

TOTAL OOP after coupons and RR - $.43

GET BACK $6 and $3.50 RR

2nd Transaction:

Buy Contact $6.00
Buy 7-Up Freezer Pop for filler $.10
Use $2 coupon and $3.50 RR from above
TOTAL DUE $.61

GET BACK $6 RR

Now I have all the above stuff for just over $1 OOP and still have $6 and $6 RR to roll into next week! If I would have purchased everything without coupons or RR's, I would have paid $18.43 plus tax!

So what is up with CVS?? I don't see anything I want this week and I have a $5 ECB that expires on the 27th! Looks like I will have to get creative!

PUBLIX 10/24/10, SPENT $11.25, SAVED 90%

What a slow week at Publix. I didn't need anything except lunchmeat, english muffins and some produce. Once again, I stocked up on Halloween Candy to donate to church for their "Trunk or Treat". This is what I bought for $11.25:

6 Ball Park Turkey Franks (used RC - for grandkids!)
Pineapple
Romaine Lettuce
Bananas
Fried Chicken
2 Oscar Mayer Lunchmeat
2 Nestle Cookies
2 English Muffins
4 Boxes Cheez Its
4 Extra Large Bags Halloween Candy
2 Dial Soap
Schick Razor
Schick Hydro Gel
Lentils

I didn't need the Razor and gel, as most of you know I have enough razors and gel to shave the city of St. Augustine...but I couldn't pass up this deal. The razors are on sale for $7.99. There is a FREE Hydro Gel peelie on the razor. Stack that with the FREE Schick Hydro Gel coupon in the Green Advantage Flyer and the $4 MQ, and you pay $.50 for both items! I am hoping next week will be a better ad at Publix. At least we have been able to get all our Halloween Candy (plus some) for pennies on the dollar!

FREE KIDS COLGATE TOOTHBRUSH

Do you have small children or have a grandchild? Then go here to earn a FREE kids toothbrush.

When your child completes a Healthy Bedtime Habits Log, they can earn a FREE Colgate Kids Toothbrush!

STEWART'S WEEKLY AD

Stewart's new ad is posted. As always, the boneless skinless chicken breasts always go fast. Also, again a good deal on eggs and potatoes. I am excited for orange season!

Fresh Never Frozen Boneless Chicken Breast $1.99 lb. 5 lbs or more

Grade A Large Eggs .99 cents a dozen

Locally Grown Hydroponic Lettuce, $1.50 head.

Local Salt Run Oysters! Bushels, Half Bushels and pints!

PUBLIX 10/19, SPENT $5.25, SAVED 88%

My Publix trip today was not a necessary trip because I didn't need anything. I had a few coupons that were going to expire and had a raincheck also. I am also trying to get a few bags of food together for another needy family, so I wanted to get some of the good deals. This is what I got:

4 Mueller Pasta
1 Land 'O Lakes Butter
8 pk. Activia
1 Smart Balance Milk
Pears
Zucchini
5 Shredded Cheese (RC)
2 Cage Free Eggs (BOGO Q)
4 Sour Cream (RC)
2 Suave Professional Shampoo/Conditioner
1 Poster Board (not shown)

Considering the Activia alone is $3.99 and the milk is $2.50, I don't think I did a bad job! :)

I was hoping for a better week starting on Thursday, but I am not really that excited about the new ad. Like I said before, it's OK because I am fully stocked at home at "J-Mart"!!

BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THIS TEARPAD

I have seen this tearpad all over the different Publix stores. New printable Target coupons are available to print today. If you stack this tearpad coupon for $1/2 Frito-Lay Baked Chips, Rold Gold Pretzels, or Sunchips with the Target Q for $1 off Frito-Lay Baked Chips (use 2 coupons), you can get a great deal on Baked Chips. I plan on holding out to see if there is a BOGO sale soon!

MORE FREE CANDY??

When you go to CVS and scan your card you should get this CRT for $1 off Nestle Snack Size Candy. Pair this with the $2 coupon from coupons.com and use with the BOGO sale this week. Use two $2/1 and two $1/1 (I have 2 cards) and you get FREE CANDY! If you don't have 2 cards, you will pay $1 for 2 bags of candy.

If you don't need any more candy in your house after all this FREE candy, consider donating this!

OOPS - Sorry guys...looks like this CRT won't work because it is not for the right size!

QUAKER INSTANT OATMEAL COUPON RESET

Have you printed your $2 off Quaker Instant Oatmeal Coupon yet? Mine has reset and I was able to get 2 more per computer! When oatmeal goes BOGO, we will get better than free Quaker Instant Oatmeal! Don't forget to hit your back browser to get your second coupon!

My family loves this stuff. Our favorite flavor is Raisen, Walnut & Date. If you haven't tried that flavor, give it a try, live on the edge and try something new!

ALL THIS FOR $3.OO!

Isn't it great when you can say you purchased all this Halloween Candy for $3.00? This includes 6 bags Snackerz Butterfinger, 6 Starburst, and 4 Nestle Assorted Bags. The Nestle bags may not make it to the trick-or-treaters! You see, we have a drawer at our house that has a nice assortment of treats. It didn't take the grandkids but one time to learn that is where all the "goodies" are. It is right next to Poppa's chair so he calls them over and gives them something special. At night when we are watching TV, I yell over, "Throw me a Baby Ruth" and I enjoy them as well! (That is how I manage to keep my girlish figure!!)

If you still have your BOGO Starburst Coupon, pair that with the BOGO sale this week and get them for free.

Even the cashier asked me where I got the $2.50/2 candy coupon so she could go and print some! I hope you got all your Halloween Candy for pennies like I did!

PUBLIX 10/17, SPENT $14.03, SAVED 84%

I really didn't need much this week. Besides needing a few vegetables, bread, and the much needed Pantene Curly Definer ($3.99 each) for my daughter, I was good. $11 of my total went to Pantene and 4 bags Nestle Candy (paid $3 for 4 bags). That means the balance went towards the rest:

Fresh Broccoli
Baby Carrots
Green Onions Bananas
5 SmartBalance Milk
Banana Peppers
2 Pantene Hair Gel
4 Nestle Candy
2 Pepperidge Farm Bread
6 Starburst Candy
2 Jiffy Corn Bread

The milk I bought has a date of December 9th. I still have two others in my refrig and my daughter gave a 1/2 gallon of milk to her boyfriend. I guess she though we were good in the milk department! I won't need to buy milk again until the beginning of December. I still have a few more $2 milk coupons left so I may just add a few more at the end of the week! I sure hope next weeks ad is better than this one!

PUBLIX 10/12, SPENT $10.56, SAVED 92%

Boy, did I make a mistake. I was in a hurry to get out of the store and I didn't pay attention to what I was doing. I picked up 2 Athenos Feta Cheese and didn't realize that one was the 4 oz. size and the other was 8 oz. Bottom line...I paid $4.59 for one that I didn't want plus I then missed out on the FREE one that went with the 4 oz. I also did the same thing with the Sundown Vitamins. A 100 count bottle was in the wrong row so I paid $5.89 for it instead of $3.59. Then to top it off, I didn't realize my Publix $2/2 coupons for the Pledge Grab It in which I had a raincheck expired 2 days ago. So right there I missed out on $6. I would have paid next to nothing if I didn't blow it. I am going back and exchanging out the vitamins and picking up my "FREE" feta cheese. Still not bad for $10.56...This is what I purchased:

Water Chestnuts
2 Classico Sauce
22 Cans Hunts Tomatoes
2 Great Northern Beans
6 Ronzoni Pasta
2 Vigo Yellow Rice
8 Sundown Vitamins
6 Pledge Grab It
Romano Cheese
2 Feta Cheese
4 Buitoni Fettuccinni
2 Ball Park Franks

I don't see much for me in nexts week ad. I am excited about SmartBalance milk for
$.50 and getting the rest of my Halloween Candy for $.75 each!

ANOTHER BLOGWORTHY POST ON BABY FORMULA

Another shout-out to my daughter Shannon! With the Similac recall, she has had to buy the ready-to-feed formula. They have reduced the price down to $4.19 each but she uses 5 of these in one week. By stacking coupons, she was able to get 5 bottles for $1.95! If anyone needs a $3 Similac formula coupon, I can forward you the link...just let me know!

Looks like I'll skip CVS this week because I don't see anything I can live without!

UPDATE: BEFORE YOU BUY YOUR SECOND NOXZEMA RAZOR, CUT OPEN THE FIRST PACKAGE TO USE THE $2/1 COUPON ON THE NEXT PURCHASE. THEY WOULD NOT LET ME USE THE $.75 NOXZEMA COUPON, SO THIS MADE UP FOR IT

WALGREENS 10/10, SPENT $.06

I started out with a $3 RR so I went to Walgreens to pick up some Vick Sinex Nighttime using two $4 coupons. My total OOP including tax was $.06 and I got back a $5 RR...a $3.02 moneymaker!

ANOTHER REASON TO GET RAINCHECKS

Not too long ago Quaker Instant Oatmeal was BOGO at $3.69 each. I bought 4 boxes to add to my stockpile, being careful to watch my expiration dates of what I had. They ran out of a few flavors (not the ones I like to buy), so I went up to the customer service desk and got a raincheck. Now this is where the raincheck comes into play and it gets exciting!

Go here and click on "Coupon" tab and scroll down and print the coupon, hitting your back browser to print 2. This is for a $2 Quaker Instant Oatmeal Coupon that I will use with my RC. Publix will pay me $.31 for taking 2 boxes out of the store. I will be using my RC with a quantity of 4, making $.62 overage to use towards my other purchases and adding 4 more to my stockpile!

THESE E-MAILS BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES!

I received these two e-mails today and they brought tears to my eyes! It is letters like these that keep me going teaching the classes. THANK YOU to everyone who e-mails me or calls me to tell me about their experiences. You really don't know how much it makes my day and makes me smile! Please continue to share your successes so everyone can see what joy this brings into your life!

Judi....
Just wanted to SHARE a picture of my recent trip to Publix....
I spent $5.29
Saved $34.77
Thank you so much for your class, and teaching me to how to Shop the Sales and Stockpile..
Without your class... This wouldnt of been possible.
I find searching for coupons and deals, challenging... and I love it...Michelle

Judi,

I just wanted to tell you that I took your class about 6 months ago, could have been longer than that. I was one of the ones that took it at Wachovia bank. I just wanted to thank you so much. This class has totally changed my life. It has made my life so much easier. I have two teenagers. Now I never have to worry about not having enough money or not giving them everything they need and more. So I just wanted to say that your class has been a blessing in my life. Thank you for all that you do.

Love,

Julie

ANOTHER BLOGWORTHY POST

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. This is my daughter Shannon's shopping trip. She paid $7.37 for all this stuff! Did you notice the three Similac formula in the picture? They are over $4 each! A big shout-out to Shannon for yet another great shopping trip!

PUBLIX 10/7/10, SPENT $8.31, SAVED 88%

I wanted to get a jump start on the Martha Stewart Cleaning Products, but someone already beat me to it! There were only 2 of the bathroom cleaner left! I got a raincheck so I could do it at a later date when it is fully stocked. I wasn't impressed with this weeks ad but it had a few good deals for me. This is what I purchased:

2 Classico Sauce
4 Progresso Bread Crumbs
6 Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing
Frozen Artichokes
1/4 lb. pancetta
2 Ronzoni Pasta
2 Classico Sauce
4 Progresso Bread Crumbs
2 Planters Peanuts
6 Hunts Tomatoes
1 Cannellini Bean
16 oz. Cottege Cheese
1 Muir Glen Tomato Paste
Frozen Artichokes
Cottonelle Wipes

I specifically went in to buy frozen artichokes $3.29, Pancetta $1.54 and Planters Peanuts BOGO $2.89. These three items minus the coupons for the peanuts would have been $5.72...my whole bill was $8.31!! Another awesome Publix trip!

UPDATE: KATHLEEN...CONTACT ME ABOUT BOOKLETS TO GET YOU STARTED ON YOUR SAVINGS JOURNEY! I CAN GIVE THEM TO YOU THURSDAY NIGHT AT THE CLASS.

READ THIS AND GET A GOOD LAUGH!

Thank you to Mary Ann T. who sent this to me...it is very clever and I just had to laugh...enjoy!

A new Publix Supermarket opened in Hudson, Florida. It has an automatic water mister to keep the produce fresh. Just before it goes on, you hear the distant sound of thunder and the smell of fresh rain.

When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and you experience the scent of fresh cut hay.

In the meat department there is the aroma of charcoal grilled steaks and brauts.

In the liquor department, the fresh, clean, crisp smell of tapped Miller Lite.

When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cluck and cackle and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying.

The bread department features the tantalizing smell of fresh baked bread & cookies.

I don't buy toilet paper there anymore.

PUBLIX 10/6/10, SPENT $6.38, SAVED 92%

My daughter decided she wanted to cook a meal for her boyfriend tonight and wanted to make Fettuccini Alfredo. Heavy cream is not a staple we keep in our house, so off to Publix I go to pick up her ingredients. Of course, I couldn't go to Publix and pass up more FREE cheese! So this is what I bought:

Shredded Parm Cheese (this was NOT on sale and I didn't have a coupon $3.39
5 Kraft shredded cheese (went right in freezer)
5 Kraft Chunk Cheese
2 Armour Meatballs
2 Pkgs. frozen broccoli
2 pkgs. Fettuccini
4 Vigo Yellow Rice
4 Crystal Light
Heavy Cream
2 Cukes
Romaine Lettuce
Garlic
Bananas
2 Mission Tortillas

TOTAL SPENT $6.38

Remember, I went in specifically for the heavy cream $1.89, Shredded Parmasean Cheese $3.39 and garlic $.43. Those items total $5.32. So why not throw in a few more things for $1.06 just for the fun of it! I just can't walk into the grocery store and get three things!!

The best part is they were all out of several kinds of cheese, so I got a raincheck and still have two $5/5! This may be a good time to put all the Dulacalox to good use after eating all that cheese!

ANOTHER BLOGWORTHY SHOUT-OUT

A big shout-out to Marcia E. who took the class about 6 weeks ago. I received an e-mail from her saying she spent less than $14 and saved $87 at Publix. This trip also included 6 boxes of Advil! The Advil alone would have cost about $27 and that is the sale price!

Good job Marcia! You will only continue to get better as the time goes on!
