FREE MUELLER'S PASTA

I was checking an e-mail account that I have that basically sits there and I use if I need another e-mail address to sign up for something. I NEVER look at it.

I decided to look at it tonight and to my surprise there was an email from Mueller's Pasta for $.75/1. Did I tell you yet how much I love Mueller's Pasta? Did I tell you I especially love Mueller's pasta when it is FREE...better yet...FREE PLUS OVERAGE when combined with this weeks sale??

The moral of the story is check your email accounts from time to time to find gems like this one! I was able to print 10 copies of the coupon instead of the usual 2. (I also found an email with a $.55/1 coupon) YIPEE!! Score some pasta to send away with my new college student. I know she can boil water!!

CVS 7/30

I plan on going back to CVS but I ran in to do the Bic Soeil Razor Cartridge Deal, sensitive toothpaste and Skinny Cow candy. Yum! I dug into those on the way home! Look for the Selma Hayek display on the right when you enter the store. They have little samples of Eye Serum, tinted moisturizer, etc.

Do you see her picture on the Firming Body Cream? I am willing to spend some serious $$$ to get that body and face with her cream. I am sure it has something to do with the Cocoa Shea Butter and Rice Bran Oil as the major ingredients. Sign me up!!

Seriously...do you really believe Raisen Bran Oil will firm the skin on your body? Anyways, there are $2 coupons on the back of the Firming Body Cream. Maybe we can get some kind of deal to give poor Selma some business. She looks like she needs it!

Also, scan those red cards. I was able to scan one of my cards twice and the other three times.

NEW COUPON WORKSHOP SCHEDULED

I am scheduling a coupon workshop for August 24th at 6:30 pm. It has been a while since I have had a class due to my time spent with my mother. With the kids going back to school and family vacations over, I am getting back on track!

If you are interested in signing up for this class, please contact me at 540-5225 or e-mail me. Class sizes are limited!!

TARGET 7/30

I ran to Target tonight and found a few good deals. My sandwich bag stockpile was getting low (about 10 boxes), so I took advantage of the price cut on Ziplock bags until 9/3 sale. They were $2.50. When I stacked the $1/2 MQ and the $1/2 TQ, I paid $1.50 per box.

It definitely was not like the deal when I stocked up last year at Publix for $.50 each. If you decide to do this deal, make sure you buy the ziplock bags that are located in the front of the store on an end cap by the registers. They are bonus boxes with 20% more! You will get 120 bags instead of 100. The boxes in the back of the store are only 100 count.

Small things make me happy. Getting an extra 80 bags was almost like getting another box for FREE!

Then I wandered over to the toy department. I was not one of the lucky ones to get in on the 75% off toys but I did find this awesome 88" beach ball that you hook up to the hose for $2.98. I know some grandkids who will just love it!

Off to the baby department...and I found this booster seat marked down 50% to $20.48.
Again, grandkids win again!

Don't forget to print your dental floss coupons from coupons.com (use 90210) and get your FREE dental floss while you are there.

HAPPY NEW SCHOOL YEAR BOOKLET

I had to run into the SR 16 Publix today and spotted the display with the Happy New School Year Booklet. Unfortunately, it was empty!! Be on the lookout for the display at your store. If anyone spots this book at their store, please let me know because I wanted about 6 of them!

The manager of SR 16 said the books were going to be restocked but didn't know when!

This is the time of year to stock your family up on cereal and other breakfast and snack items to send your kids back to school with. Take this opportunity to stock up at a good price. Watch your expiration dates. Most I saw were into 2012.

LONGHORN STEAK HOUSE COUPON

It's 5:00 in the morning. I have been awake since 3:30 am. I guess my hormones are going crazy again. I have been waking up in the middle of the night ripping off my nightgown. Having a fan blowing on my face and one at the foot of the bed just isn't cutting it. I'm 55...when is this all going to end?

I checked my e-mail and found a Longhorn Steakhouse Coupon. Sounds good even as we ate 3 lbs. of steak tonight with lobster from my freezer ordeal. Just hit print to get the $5 off 2 entrees. The coupon expires 8/14.

Thanks to Melissa for sending me a picture of her freezer with a padlock on it. I am going to Home Depot to check this out!

JUST A THOUGHT

I saw this somewhere and thought I would pass it along...

IF WE ALL THREW OUR PROBLEMS IN A PILE AND SAW EVERYONE ELSE'S, WE'D GRAB OURS BACK!

NEW LOOK FOR TARGET COUPONS

Have you seen the new look for Target coupons? Not only will they now tell you if you have printed your limit on a coupon, but they look different! I printed some of the old coupons today and they looked the same. I went to print the $1/2 Nabisco and $1/2 Kraft cheese and they were let's say a little bit of an ink hog! The amount you get off was BOLD!! I guess that means the cashiers definitely won't make a mistake when they read it!

NOT AGAIN!!

What a day! I wish I could rewind and go back to yesterday. It was so much fun! We went out in the boat all day with friends and cooked out on the beach. Then we came home and jumped in the pool which felt like bath water.

Little did I know that as I slept my freezer was defrosting. Yes, the door was left open AGAIN and I heard those words I dread. "Judi, the freezer door was left open".

Panic strikes as I open it and all my top 2 shelves were totally defrosted as well as the freezer door. After the shock, I begin cookinig like a maniac. Pizza, ground beef, cube steak, brocolli casserole, brussel sprouts, pierogis, etc. Let's just say my menu for the week is well planned. Fried fish tonight with broccoli casserole and eggrolls, steak and lobster tomorrow with more eggrolls and a side a pizza. Wednesday, break out the blue cheese because we have 10 lbs. of chicken wings to eat! Bacon, sausage, and ribs will round out the week.

I was sick when I had to throw out oysters, shrimp, ice cream of every sort, guacamole, hash browns, mashed potatoes, vegetables, chicken tenders, veggie burgers, etc. At least I felt a little better when I knew the bags of potatoes were free, as well as the guacamole. The chicken tenders and veggie stuff was cheap. The ice cream I just bought. I guess I won't be enjoying my Peanut Butter Cup ice cream with sliced banana for my evening treat. I didn't need it anyway.

Do you know that show where they put their inventions up in front of a group of people to get money to develop their idea? Shark Tank...here I come! I have an idea to lock my freezer from the outside after the door is shut. It would bolt it so tight Fort Knox would be proud! How come no one has thought of that??

So all the Zantac I got free last week will come in handy this week as we consume food of all sorts!

CVS 7/24

Your goal for the drugstores is always to spend the least amount OOP and roll your ECB's so the date keeps extending out further. This turned out to be the perfect scenerio for the ECB's I had on hand.

My first transaction was using my $10 ECB that expired a few days ago. Remember I told you it was more advantageous for me to use it this week rather than try to scrape up a deal from last week. I bought:

2 Skintimate Gel
2 Schick Hydro Razor

I used my $10 ECB and paid $.36 plus tax AND got back another $10 ECB!!

My second transaction was using a $7.99 ECB I had. It went like this:

1 U Kotex
1 Renu Contact Solution

TOTAL OOP $.39 plus tax. I used my $7.99 ECB and got back a $6 and $2 ECB's. In other words, for pennies I took home the above items and got back exactly what I started with! Gotta love CVS!! Pretty soon I may be supplying the whole dorm with toiletries!!

I still have another deal to do at CVS (transaction #2 again, but at 9:00 am the beach store was already out of U Kotex!! I will go back later in the week!

KASHI, KASHI, AND MORE KASHI PLUS OVERAGE

I had to do the Kashi deal one more time. I just couldn't help myself. Nothing is better than FREE! To top it off I bought 6 Cover Girl Emery Boards for $1.69 each which gave me overage to pay for the cheap cereal. Use the $1.50/1 Green Adv. Flyer coupon and stack with the $1/1 7/3 PG and/or the $2.50/2 7/3 PG and get overage! I actually had a negative balance so I scooped up 2 bottles of Eclipse Gum that were BOGO and paid $2.47 for everything listed below:

4 Morningstar Farms Breakfast Sausage
1 package plastic forks
6 Cover Girl Emery Boards
4 Kashi Cereal
4 Kashi Cereal Bars
4 Kashi Cookies
2 Eclipse Gum

TOTAL OOP $2.47, SAVED 98%

KASHI DEAL

Kashi...you either love it or hate it! I have to admit I have had a few that tasted like cardboard but have tried some that I actually liked (like the cinnamon O's cereal). My daughter on the other hand loves all of it! So being college bound in four weeks and counting (sob sob), I did this deal and paid $.49 per item for 12 items!

Buy 4 Kashi cereal
Buy 4 Kashi Granola Bars
Buy 4 Kashi cookies

Use four $1/1 Kashi cereal Q
Use four $1/1 Kashi TLC Bars Q
Use four $1/1 Kashi TLC Cookie Q
Use three $2/4 Target Q
Use four Yellow Adv. Flyer-Get cookies FREE wyb cereal and bars

Final price paid for 12 boxes was $5.92. I found the booklet in the turnstile where the ads are. There were only a few out. If they are not there, I would suggest asking customer service. I am planning on getting two more granola bars and 2 more crackers this time and then getting 2 more cookies for FREE. I will have used all my coupons up! Stock up on some Kashi items while you can at this price!

PHILADELPHIA COOKING CREME

If you guys are like me and got the deal on Philadelphia Cooking Creme way back when for $.50 each, you still have a few in your refrigerator that you need to use. Here are a few good recipes to use them up. And when you pair PHILADELPHIA's new Cooking Creme with the slow cooker, you've got the ultimate in lazy cooking.

SUNDRIED TOMATO AND ARTICHOKE DIP

1 (10-ounce) container of Savory Garlic PHILADELPHIA Cooking Creme
1 (14-ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
1/4 cup sundried tomatoes, soaked, then drained and chopped
chips for dipping

The Directions.

Use a 2-quart slow cooker. Scoop out the Cooking Creme and put it into an empty slow cooker. Lick the spoon.
Add the chopped artichokes and sundried tomatoes. Stir (but not with the spoon you licked, because that would be gross). Cover and cook on low for 3 hours, or until fully hot.
Serve with your favorite chips.

Life just couldn't be better.

SLOW COOKER CREAMY TACOS
serves 4-6

2 pounds chicken breast pieces (mine were frozen solid)
1 (14.5-ounce) can fire roasted tomatoes (you can use garlic-seasoned, or plain in a pinch. I wouldn't do tomatoes with chiles if feeding kids)
1 (10-ounce) container PHILADELPHIA Cooking Creme--- Santa Fe flavor
taco shells or corn tortillas

Optional fixins': sour cream, avocado slices
optional add-ins to stretch the meal to feed more people: 1 cup frozen corn, or 1 can corn, drained, 1 can black or pinto beans, drained and rinsed.

Put the chicken into your cooker. Add the entire can of tomatoes. Scrape out all the Cooking Creme (lick the container. It's GOOD!)
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until chicken shreds easily with a fork. Stir well and serve in taco shells or corn tortillas with your favorite toppings.

NEW BOOKLET SPOTTED

Be on the lookout for peelie booklets that are on Dasani Water packages. These booklets have coupons printed back to back so you could only use one side or the other. I spotted them at the Publix at Cobblestone on the water displayed in the front of the store.

STEWART'S PRODUCE WEEKLY AD

Stewart's weekly ad is posted and again there are a few good deals.

Fresh, never frozen Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts,
5 lbs. or more, $1.99 lb.

Boneless RibEye Steaks, $6.99 lb.

EZ Peel 26-30 count Shrimp, $4.99 lb.

Jumbo Florida Avocados, $.99 each

Green Peanuts, $.99 lb.

3 lb. bag Onions, $1.49 each

CHEAP POPSICLES

I don't know if this is a match yet but Popsicles are going BOGO starting Thursday and there is a FLIP that just came out for $1/2. If it is a match the popsicles will be $1.79 each! This is a pretty good price if you keep your freezer stocked with popsicles!

BEST DRUGSTORE BUYS

Again on the Today Show Allure Magazine unveiled their top picks for the best drugstore products. A few of the products are on every time they do one of these segments...Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream $24.99 makes it every time. I personally use this product and love it! Maybelline Fit Foundation $7.99 was thier pick for foundation, Loreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara $8.99, Neutregena Rapid Wrinkle Repair for $20.99 (women saw results in as little as one week), John Freida Mousse, Garnier Fructis Shampoo (also Pantene, Loreal) Freeman Facial Mask $1.99, and Cover Girl Eyeliner Liquiline Blast $6.00. I did learn one thing that I did not know which I thought was very interesting. When buying eyeliners, look for the ones that are made in Germany. All of the high end liners are made there and the drugstore ones are made in the same plant right beside the expensive ones. You can bet I will be looking at all the makeup to see if it is made in Germany!

WHERE TO SAVE

If you watched the Today Show this morning, they had information on where to save money starting with food. Stores like Costco are best for your meat and seafood. Did you know that Costco works on a margin of .55%. In fact, their profit for 2010 was 1.3 billion (yes, that is billion) and made 1.7 billion in membership fees. (Walmart's margins are about 6%). I have always said it was a great gimmic to actually charge people a membership fee to come into a store to have to buy in large quantities! I love Costco, but I don't buy grocery items anymore. I can get things cheaper using the BOGO sales and coupons.

They also said canned goods and cereal are best bought at the Dollar Store. While that may be true for some, again they don't know the value of a BOGO sale and a coupon. Vegetables and fresh fruit are best bought at a farmers market. I have to agree with that. You can get the best prices and freshest produce at your local farmers market.

Are you looking for a new TV? According to this the best time to buy a TV is after the superbowl. Makes sense to me...it must be a man thing to want a new TV to watch the game on. All I personally care about is the commercials!

Need a new laptop? Now and next month are actually the best time for this. You will see many back to school sales this time of year. We have actually bought our daughter a new laptop last week with a great deal we found at Staples.

Looking to buy a new car? First check out www.edmunds.com and www.kbb.com. Another good site is www.truecar.com to find out what other people are paying for a particular vehicle. New sites like www.carwoo.com and www.zag.com will let dealers haggle among themselves to give you the best price. Now that is the way to buy a new car!

V-8 JUICE COUPONS

Make sure you print the $1/2 V-8 coupon HERE. There is also a $1/2 Target printable coupon. Let's hope for a BOGO sale soon so we could get a bottle of V-8 for about
$.65 each after stacked coupons! My husband loves this stuff so I will buy several bottles for the stockpile at this price.

The target coupons disappear very quickly so make sure you print it now before it goes away!

PUBLIX 7/17/11, SPENT $$45.56, SAVED 71%

Every week I look forward to the new Publix ad that comes out and it seems lately every week I am disappointed. I am sure glad I had a decent stockpile because I have been living off it. This week was no different. I stocked up on cereal and used my raincheck for Tuttorosso Canned Tomatoes. I goofed because instead of buying the $1.87 can I picked up the cans for $2.39 each. In the end after my raincheck and coupons I spent $2 more than I should have. This is what I bought:

10 boxes Kelloggs Frosted Mini Wheats
2 bags of Cherries (this was $9.83 alone)
1 bag baby carrots
4 2000 Flushes
2 Smart Balance Butter Spray
Tortillas
Bananas
3 boxes of Pop Tarts
2 Zantac
10 cans Crushed tomatoes
2 packages Pens
2 pairs Scissors
2 pkgs. Cottonelle Toilet Paper (this was $10)

TOTAL SPENT $44.56. If I would have bought the cereal at Walmart it would have cost $27.50 deducting the same coupons. The cherries were $2.99 per lb. at Walmart but I could have price-matched them. They would have taken the Target coupon for the pop tarts at Walmart. All in all, it was better to buy everything at Publix than Walmart.

WARNING!!

DO NOT print the $5 off Bengay coupon from coupons.com under zip 90210 unless you want your house to smell like old people!! I am serious!! Years ago my husband and I kept smelling something when we would go to my parents house and then we figured it out! It was Bengay!! My mother would use it everynight and the smell lingered...and boy did it linger! She stopped using it because it made her house smell like Bengay! So if you use this coupon, don't say I didn't warn you. My advice is to put it in the donate pile!!

On a more serious note, don't forget to get your FREE ZANTAC this week at Publix!:)

MILK COUPON

Go to www.coupons.com and use zipcode 84771 to get a coupon for $.75 off a gallon of milk or two 1/2 gallons of milk. We will need this when we start getting all the cereal deals!

UPDATE: THANKS TO A READER WHO INFORMED ME THIS COUPON IS ONLY GOOD IN UTAH AND IDAHO!! LOL!! I CAN NEVER READ THE FINE PRINT WITHOUT GLASSES!! DON'T WASTE YOUR INK ON THIS ONE UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO UTAH!!

BIG LOTS 20% OFF COUPON

On our way back from Walmart this morning, we stopped at Big Lots to see if they had anything we couldn't live without. Really, I was looking for items that I could use for my daughters dorm room. I was able to get some pink stackable laundry baskets for $4 each and my husband picked up a new Black & Decker flashlight (just like the one he got for fathers day) for $12. That is one thing there is no shortage of in our house...flashlights! My husband has a thing for flashlights and coolers! My thing is pillows! My theory is you can never have enough pillows and I save them and rotate them throughout the house!

I was also able to pick up some block-out drapes for her dorm room and Pepperidge Farm Bread that expires on the 23rd for $.96 a loaf! The bread guy was filling the shelf when I was there. If you don't mind frozen bread, pick up several packages and freeze it!

They also had inexpensive outdoor furniture marked down 30% off and then another 20% on top of that. I also knew of someone who bought a mattress there with the 20% off coupon. My only suggestion is if you buy a mattress make sure it is foam encased. You shouldn't be able to feel the springs on the sides.

This coupon is given to you at the register or it is in todays paper. It is good for today only.

CVS GENERIC FOODS

Have any of you noticed the new no-name (it's really a CVS brand) things appearing at CVS. They had different items 10 for $10. Things like Raisen Bran, dry onion soup mix, etc. I haven't tried any yet, but I am going to buy the dry onion soup mix for $1.00 to use in pot roasts and especially in this Sweet-n-Sour Chicken recipe. I have a bunch of french dressing that I got when they were BOGO and you used the TQ and MQ together. I also have jars of apricot preserves when they were BOGO and then used a $1/2 MQ. This recipe has only 4 ingredients.

1 jar apricot preserves
1 bottle catalina or french dressing, small
1 pkg. dried onion soup mix
Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts

Mix all together and pour over chicken breasts. You can also add canned pineapple and chopped green pepper to the sauce. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 min. to 1 hour depending on how many chicken breasts you have. Serve with rice. I have plenty of that also!!!

HOW TO GET YOUR ECB'S TO WORK FOR YOU

I have 3 CVS cards with 2 that I am currently using and usually do the same deals on each card. I have a $10 ECB that expires on 7/21 but I don't see anything that I really want with this weeks ad. I headed over to iheartcvs.com and viewed next weeks ad and found that I can buy the following items beginning next Sunday using my now expired $10 ECB and get the deal to work for me.

This is what I will buy for $.12 OOP plus tax:

Renu Contact Solution $7.89
Use $2 printable
Get back $6

Papermate Pens $1.99
Get back $1.99

Crest, 3-D White Toothpaste $2.99
Use $.75/1 6/5 PG
Get back $2

I will use my expired ECB and only pay $.12 OOP for the above items and get back a
$6, $1.99, and $2 ECB. In other words, I walk out with the above items, pay almost nothing, and still have $10 in ECB's for the weeks to come.

The moral of the story is don't try to use your ECB's in the week they are going to expire if you don't see anything you want. Look to the next week and see if you could put together a better scenerio from there. They will take ECB's for up to one week past expiration!

WALMART VS PUBLIX ON FROSTED MINI WHEATS

My husband and I headed over to Walmart today to buy dirt. Six bags of dirt to be exact. I went around the store looking for the booklet people have said they found at Walmart but could not find it. Don't waste your time going there looking for it. I did a pricecheck on the Frosted Mini Wheat Cereal. Walmart's price is $3.50. Publix is BOGO at $4.59. Using two $.75/1 coupon, you will pay $3.09 for two boxes this week at Publix and pay $5.50 for 2 boxes this week at Walmart. That is a savings of $2.41 and you haven't even used the $1.50 off fresh fruit wyb 2 boxes of cereal coupon! That is how you use it to your advantage over Walmart. I will probably buy at least 8 boxes of cereal this week. Maybe more!! Take advantage of the fruit coupon and BOGO this week!

UPCOMING DEALS

Noxzema Medicated Shave Cream should be on sale for $1 (if our area gets that sale) Use the $.75/1 from the 7/17 SS and you will pay $.25!!

Also the 12 double roll of Cottonelle Toilet Paper is on sale for $6.49. Use the Publix coupon for $.75/1 in the Smart Savings Booklet and stack with the $.75/1 that will also be in the 7/17 SS. Not that bad of a deal if you need toilet paper! I am a Scott girl myself but I will buy anything I can get a good deal on!

NEW COUPON BOOKLET

While I was in Palm Coast yesterday visiting my daughter, I stopped in a Publix and found the Happy New School Year Booklet. The best coupon in there is $1.50 off Fruit wyb 2 boxes of cereal. The Frosted Mini Wheats is one of the cereals included on the coupon. That makes the BOGO sale this week such a sweet deal! I don't know the price of the cereal yet because I don't have my ad, but at $4 a box, using two $2.25 wyb 3 coupons would make it $12.00 less $4.50 for coupons. Then use three $1.50 off fruit wyb cereal coupon and get $4.50 off fruit! If you were buying fruit anyway, it's like paying $3.00 for 6 boxes of cereal!

This is the time of year to stock up on cereal. Right before school starts they will have lots of sales on cereal. Make sure to save your coupons from all the cereal companies because the printables will go fast. I missed out on the $5 off 5 coupon. Cereal usually has an expiration date of a year or so. Use this opportunity to stock up for the months to come!

UPDATE ON MATCHING WALMART COUPON POLICY

The more I thought about my daughter and her Walmart shopping experience, the more I knew our Walmart didn't do it that way. I know because I tried it a few times. Her store will price match the sale but use Walmarts price. For example, if cereal is BOGO at Publix for $3.99, and you have a $1/2 MQ, you pay $1.50 a box. At her Walmart the cereal may be priced at $2.50 a box. They ring it through as $1.25 (she always has the math done for them because sometimes the employees are not the brighest) and then use the same $1/2 MQ and you pay $.75 each. BIG DIFFERENCE!!

I called our store and they do it differently. They use the price on the Publix ad. So my question is "Why go to Walmart"? If they are going to use the Publix price, why would I go and drive around a crowded parking lot to find a space, get a cart that has the bump in the tire (so that everyone hears you coming in the store), deal with the crowds and employees just to get the same deal exactly as Publix? If you have to go to Walmart anyway for something it might not be a bad idea to have the ads in case you want to get one of the BOGO deals there.

The only case I can see this being a positive if it is something that we know is going to be a HOT item at Publix. For example, when we were able to get the All detergent for $2 or the many items that the shelf was empty from the good deal we get a raincheck at Publix. If it is something you really want that week go to Walmart and do the deal! Then you have the raincheck to do it again at Publix and can order more coupons from a coupon clipping site! I know sometimes I have gone back 3 times in a week only to find the shelves bare (think Shick Razors BOGO sale). That is when they were taking expired coupons so I knew I was OK with my raincheck. Now that option is no longer available so we might have to use Walmart as our alternative.

PRICE MATCHING AT WALMART

Walmart...I hate going there. No, let's rephrase that...I DESPISE going there. Have you ever seen the website www.peopleofwalmart.com? If you are not having a good day, depressed, or need a good laugh, visit that website. You will see sites that you have never seen before! I can personally speak from experience after going into a Walmart at 2 am after leaving Flagler Hospital one night after my sister-in-law had a baby. The first question that came to my mind was "What rocks do these people crawl out from under?" Everyone should visit Walmart at least once in their lifetime at 2 am in the middle of the night! I suggest all of you add it to your "bucket list".

My daughter has decided that she is going to test the Walmart coupon policy and price match with sales. She did it this week with Winn Dixies ad and was able to get a pretty good deal on a few items. Hefty Paper Plates are BOGO at Winn Dixie this week. Price match it at Walmart and you will pay $1.75 each. Walmart's price is normally priced at $3.50 each. That is just over what I paid at Publix not that long ago with their BOGO and $1/2 MQ. If you didn't stock up at that sale, head over to Walmart and price match the ad. She also bought Juicy Juice 8 pk. and price matched WD's BOGO ad. She paid $1.13 each.

So if you have the desire to venture into Walmart and price match WD's or Publix ads, let me know what you get!

BELK CLEARANCE SALE

If you have time, swing by the Belk Department Store and you may find some good deals. All the departments were marking down their merchandise. Now is the time to pick up some good deals on summer clothing. This is my favorite time of year because I usually try to buy a few tops and shorts to put away for next season.

Things were marked down up to 75% off and then you took an additional 30% off!

I was also able to find a twin dust ruffle for my father marked down to $3.48 at Target. I noticed their toys marked down 30% to 50%.

FREE ECB's AT CVS

I guess I was a little late this week in doing my CVS deals because I went to two stores and both were out of Pulsar Toothbrushes. If I have time I will check the Ponte Vedra store tonight because we will be headed that way.

When I scanned my card, I received a coupon for a FREE Hershey Bliss Candy Bar and also received FREE Extra Bucks! Make sure you scan your card when you go to CVS and see how many ECB's you received!

GOOD DEALS AT FOOD LION AND WALGREENS

I received an e-mail from my friend Margaret telling me Food Lion (the new store) had some wonderful food clearance deals. Throughout the store they had lots of markdowns. There were tables with stuff marked 50% off but also had things mixed throughout the store on shelves. She found 120 count generic sweetner (like equal) for $.72 each. The Oscar Mayer deil meat has been marked down to $2.44 also. There are $1/2 coupons and when you buy three, it triggers a $2 off your next order catalina. It will make for some pretty cheap deli meat. Stick it in your freezer and it will be just fine.

Also, she mentioned Walgreens had some good food clearance deals. Keep your eyes peeled for those as well.

Thanks Margaret for the info!

PRAYERS

Please pray for me and my family as my mother passed away last night. All five kids in town were able to be around her bedside and then she quietly passed away in her sleep at 12:30 am. It gives us great comfort to know she is in God's arms. My mom was a very strong Christian and was witnessing 2 weeks prior to her going home. Heaven opened up its doors and rejoiced as she was escorted into heaven.

It is still very difficult for me because you always need your mother. Pray that God gives me the strength to get through this difficult time. I know He will give me peace and I thank Him for all the years we had with her. We were told 37 years ago that she was going to die of Hodgkins disease. God had other plans. He was not through using her yet.

HEALTHY EATHING

I recently came across this blog and found it very interesting! If you are trying to eat healthy you have to check out this blog. It is called www.100daysofrealfood.com and she gives ideas and recipes. Even if you pick and choose the ones that your family will eat it will give you an idea of different items to cook. I want to try the Jambalya recipe. It even tells you how to make Emerill's Homemade Creole Seasoning using spices you have in your kitchen already!

Check it out! I think you will be surprised at some of the healthy tasty dishes she comes up with!

Here is a sample menu plan to get you started for the month!

CHEAP WRINKLE RELEASE AND ANT KILLER

I stumbled across these ideas the other day and thought I would pass them along. If you are looking to stretch your fabric softener, this one is for you.

Put just under 1/4 cup of fabric softener in a spray bottle. Fill the rest with water and shake. Spray on wrinkled clothes and shake out or give them a stretch. You can also spray this on your clothes in your dryer.

Having a problem with ants? Spread Cream of Wheat the day before it rains and the ants will eat it. When it rains the ants will drink the water which makes the wheat swell and it kills them!
