FOOD LION DEAL

Food Lion has Ore Ida Potatoes on sale for B2G1 Free. If you received a coupon in the mail for a FREE bag, use with this sale and use two $1/1 coupon in the 5/22 SS. When you combine all these coupons together you should get 3 bags for $1.

While you are there pick up some cantelopes for $1.50 each. I also plan on using my raincheck for grapes for $.99 lb. I am all about fruit this time of the year. We had to meet someone in the Walmart parking lot to look at a car for my daughter. I ran into Walmart to get a pizza (these are really good!) and got some peaches for $1.18 lb. Boy, I am glad I don't shop there anymore! When I look at their prices I am shocked to see how they have gone up! Do you like the wider isles at Walmart? You are paying for them with their higher price of groceries!

GOOD DEAL ON WISK LAUNDRY DETERGENT THIS WEEK

Wisk Laundry Detergent will be on sale at Publix starting Thursday for $3.99. NOW is the time to buy your coupons for $2/1. Stock up now when you can get your bottle of laundry detergent for $1.99 a bottle. You can go HERE and get your $2 coupons for only $.12 each!

Since I still have quite a few bottles in stock, I am only ordering 20 coupons and am going to share with my daughters. I am hoping I will have to get a raincheck so I can use the coupons and RC at a later date.

IS THIS A NEW SIGN?

My Publix experience today was very different from all the years I have shopped there. I purchased 12 Crystal Light (is anyone surprised?) and had my B2G1 q's, mq's and Target coupons. I didn't realize I picked up the wrong Target coupon that expired YESTERDAY! The cashier told me she couldn't take it because it was expired. She told me to go up and ask the customer service desk if they would take it because it was one day old. When I went up to the guy at the desk at the Moultrie Publix, he told me NO! I went back to the cashier and told her to take off 6 of the Crystal Light from my bill. She had to have the same customer service guy come over and hold up the line to delete them from my bill. She couldn't believe that they just didn't let it go through for four $1 coupons one day old.

I had to hold up the line and I felt terrible! I was glad I gave the guy behind me a $1/2 Ray's BBQ coupon that I wasn't going to use before they started my transaction.

Is this a sign of the new Publix customer service? I was very disappointed to say the least. It looks like they are going by the letter of the law. I am glad the Moultrie store is not my regular store. We were coming home from Palm Coast and stopped there to pick up a few things so I didn't have to go out of the way today to shop. I understand the new policy and intend to play by all the new rules. But you think they would have let it go by one day!!!

What is your opinion? Do you think it was justified?

WHAT A SMALL WORLD!

I received a phone call today from someone who lives in Buffalo, New York. When I saw the phone number on my phone I thought I received a phone call from friends back home. You see, I am from Buffalo and have lived here in Florida for over 26 years. When I listened to my message he stated that he has watched Extreme Couponing on TV and wants to learn how to do it. He has 5 kids and really needs to save money. I called him back. I asked him if he lives in Florida and told him that I used to live in the Town of Tonawanda. What a shock when he told me he lives in Buffalo. I asked him how he heard about me and he answered "I googled Extreme Couponing, classes, saving money using coupons and he found my blog! How wierd is that?? And then he called me. I spent over an hour on the phone with him explaining to him how to coupon and found several blogs for him to follow in Western New York area.

He was shocked and thrilled at the same time! He insisted on sending me $15 and I told him to please accept it as a gift from me and learn how to coupon to feed his five kids!! I told him to call me if he had any questions...I fully expect to hear from my new friend Tyrone again! He said he was going to tell all his friends about me. Uh oh... I may just have to make a trip back home to Buffalo to teach a class and eat some good chicken wings and Beef on Weck, pizza, greek food, hot dogs, etc. that we cannot get here.

If you are reading this Tyrone, it was my pleasure talking to you and I hope to get a progress report after you start doing this awhile! Maybe the next time I go back to Buffalo, I can meet Tyrone and his family and get to hear about his stockpile since he started couponing!

It truly is a small world that someone googles learn to extreme coupon and gets me! I am shocked and honored at the same time. What makes it even better is he is from my hometown!

"DID YOU KNOW" FACTS ABOUT WINN DIXIE

DID YOU KNOW...

If you want to use a $ off $$ coupon at Winn Dixie it can only be used with your WD card and the computer will not recognize it unless your card is scanned BEFORE the coupon.

Also when you do a Deal where there are FREE items and you want to use coupons on those items, be sure to have your coupons scanned BEFORE your WD Card. I was always told you couldn't use coupons on those items, but I guess if you scan your coupons before they will go through!!

PUBLIX/WINN DIXIE 5/18/11, SAVED 99.79% AT PUBLIX

I have two separate shopping trips in this picture. The right side is Publix and the left side is Winn Dixie. I needed magic erasers to get the crayon off my floor from my granddaughter visiting this past weekend. I know she would be disappointed that I erased her beautiful scribble on my floor! I used my raincheck for the taco seasoning at Winn Dixie.

I have off today and tomorrow so I headed to Publix first to pick up a few of the items I missed for this weeks ad and will head there tomorrow to pick up next weeks ad because I will be working for 5 days straight. I wanted to get my razors with my raincheck and they were finally in stock!! You will also notice 3 Sominex and 1 Phazyme which also gave me overage! This is what I bought:

4 large Vlassic pickles
2 Morningstar Farm Burgers
2 Eggbeaters
1 Romaine Lettuce
4 Cans Cream of Mushroom Soup
2 John Freida Shampoo/Conditioner
3 Sominex
1 Phazyme
10 Bic Razors (used RC)
4 V8 Juice (used RC)
Pack of gum

After all my MQ's and competitor coupons, my total was negative $.96!! I quickly grabbed a pack of gum and my total OOP was $.19!!

On the way home I stopped at WD to get the magic erasers and a few other deals like the mustard, yellow rice, eggs, cukes, toothpaste and taco seasoning for which I had a RC. The quaker rice cakes and pineapple were an impulse buy at the last minute. The rice cakes were BOGO but had peelies on them for $.55 off 1 so I paid $.60 each for them after coupons. My total OOP for WD was $24.01. This is what I bought:

1 bag onions
4 cucumbers
1 pineapple
2 French's Spicy Mustard
10 Taco Seasoning
4 Quaker Rice Cakes
4 Mahatma Yellow Rice
Carton of 18 ct. eggs for $1.99
2 heads of lettuce

The front end manager had to come over and do my raincheck and I asked her why I never get any $/$$ coupons. She said I have to swipe my WD card and NOT give my phone number like I always do. I almost NEVER go into WD so that may also be a reason. They track your spending and give coupons based on that. She told me to call the 1-800 number on the back of the card and ask for coupons!! So guess what I am going to do??? Call the 800 number to get coupons and run as fast as I can and use them as Publix!!

My total OOP for the above was $24.01

SOME DEALS USING EXPIRED COUPONS

Well, this is the last week I will be able to post any deals like this I find using expired coupons. I don't know which yellow adv. flyer these came out of but the dates are from July 17 - August 6. If the Cole's Garlic Mini-Loaf is included in the BOGO sale, you will get them for FREE if you use this coupon! Also, in a Publix flyer about 6 weeks back, there were coupons for Lipton Tea for $.55/1. Use these with the BOGO sale and pay approximately $1.10 each for the Lipton Tea.

Here's another! Kraft Chunk Cheese is on sale 2 for $5. If you are going to buy anyway and your store takes an expired Publix coupon, use the yellow advantage flyer coupon dated Nov. 20 - Dec. 10 and save $2 on milk wyb any Kraft Cheese. Not a bad deal if you are buying the cheese and need milk!

Another deal with cheese is Sargento Cheese Slices, 5 to 8 oz, 2/$6
-$0.75/1 Sargento Natural Blends Slices 4/10/2011 SS Insert (exp 5/22/2011). Stack the MQ with the Publix Q in the Spring Family Gatherings Booklet and get Large Eggs FREE wyb two packages of cheese!

GOOD DEAL ON HELLMAN'S MAYO

You will find some single coupons hanging on a display when you enter your Publix. They are also found on their website. One of the coupons is for Hellman's Mayonaise. Use the $2/1 Publix coupon and stack with the printable found HERE for $1/1 and get the jar for about $2.29. Not a bad price if you need it now. I usually don't pay any more than $1.50 for a jar but I would jump on this deal if you need it!

Saturday, May 14, 2011

EGGBEATER DEAL

Eggbeaters are on sale this week 3 for $5. If you have the Racing to End Child Hunger Book, use the $1 coupon and get the eggbeaters for $.67!!

My favorite are the Southwest syle. I put in a small pan and when it is cooked I place a piece of Pepperjack Cheese on top (or shredded Pepper Jack that we got FREE not to long ago) and place on an english muffin. It is one of my favorite breakfasts!

This is an expired coupon so you can only use at the SR 16 publix until 5/22 when the new coupon policy takes affect

SR 16 COUPON POLICY UPDATE

It is with a sad and heavy heart that I bring you this news today. I just spoke with the manager of the SR 16 Publix and he informed me that they will no longer be accepting expired coupons of any kind. They will also no longer be accepting any CVS $/$$ coupons. They will, however, still consider Target to be a competitor and will take that coupon. They will NOT take CVS or Wags store coupons any longer but will take a CVS or WAGS manufacturer coupons that starts with a 5 or 9 so they could get reimbursed.

They still want to be coupon friendly. What they are trying to stop is the people who come in and buy 30 or 40 of each item. He said they have a lady from Palatka that comes in and buys $1200 worth of groceries for $100. Every item in her cart had double coupon match-ups but she would empty the shelf and use multiple CVS coupons. It sounded to me like she would use 40 of them at one time. That is wrong! I can understand using one or two if you have a total over $60 but that is abusing the system. He said they would take a $/$$ Publix coupon and a $/$$ competitor coupon which I assume is Winn Dixie.

They have no problem with someone who comes in and buys 10 of an item on a BOGO sale. They will, however, not let people empty the shelf anymore and will limit items. I can understand that. I am just disappointed in the expired coupons. I enjoyed the hunt looking for an expired coupon that you could use with a current sale to save even more. Publix will still be my store of choice to shop at!

LAST DAY FOR ECOTRIN DEAL

Do you take a low dose aspirin such as Ecotrin? Today is the last day to do this deal! Get the Ecotrin for $1 a box instead of $6 a box! Stack the $5/2 Publix green adv. flyer q with two $2/$1 printables.

ARTICLE IN JAX TIMES UNION TODAY

Below is an article that was in the Jacksonville Times Union this morning. I already read a comment on a blog that the 312 store will NOT be accepting ANY competitor coupons anymore. It is up to each store to list their competitors. I think they would have been better still accepting competitor coupons but limiting the number you can use. The 312 store will put their policy into effect on Saturday. We still have to see what the others will be doing. I will post all stores as soon as they determine who will be their competitors!

The sad part is it looks like they will no longer accept CVS $/$$ coupons anymore!

PUBLIX TO SOON CHANGE COUPON POLICY

Publix Super Markets Inc. stores soon will implement a "unified coupon" policy, accepting coupons from nearby competitors as though they were their own, according to a company spokesman.

Because the policy states "nearby" competitors, what stores that entails depend on where the Publix store is located. Each store is to identify competing stores from which coupons will be accepted. Those will be posted at each Publix store, Publix spokesman Dwaine Stevens said.

Competing pharmacy coupons are good only toward prescriptions, according to the policy. Publix will accept only one manufacturer coupon per item, Publix coupons and valid Internet coupons — as well as those from competitors. But the chain will accept a manufacturer's coupon and a Publix or competing store's coupon on the same item.

The chain will not accept coupons giving a percentage off an item or order total. Competing coupons must be used for identical items, and manager approval is necessary for individual coupons for more than $5.

PUBLIX 5/11/11

WHEW!!! What a week it has been!! I have been to Publix so many times this week to do more deals to get gas cards. My total count of gas cards for the week is...drumroll please...23!!! Two of those my daughter is taking for me doing another 2 diaper deals for her and I have a raincheck for one because they were out. So in my hands I have 20 gas cards, a total of $800.00 which means $200 worth of FREE GAS! Once I redeem my raincheck I will have $850 worth of gas cards and $210 worth of FREE gas. My total boxes of diapers and wipes I purchased were 7 and I paid approximately $95 for them. I can only find receipts for 17 of my gas card purchases. My total OOP was $145.79. Remember, there are diaper and wipes purchases in that total that I bought for my kids (remember, I am going for mother-of-the-year award). I know my other totals were very small compared to the amount of stuff I got!

First I got my hair cut at Panache and then stopped in at the Beach Publix to do a razor deal with my raincheck. I bought:

10 razors
1 Pineapple
1 Fresh Mushroom
1 Lg. bag Baby Carrots
1 Cottage Cheese Double

My total for that order was $1.08!! And that was including the tax for the razors. They were out of gas cards so I got a raincheck.

Then I had to pick my daughter up at school so I stopped at SR 16 to do 2 more diaper deals. I did those separately and you see those in the corner of the picture. That deal netted my daughter 2 gas cards for a total OOP of $104.30, $80 of which were the gas cards).

I put those in my car and went back in and got the rest of the items pictured:

6 Bic Razors (all they had)
6 Smart Balance Milk
4 Boxes of Kleenex (yes, MORE kleenex!)
2 Oscar Mayer Turkey
Romaine Lettuce
4 Suave Shampoo
2 John Freida Conditioner
6 Crystal Light
2 Sundown Vitamins (overage)
2 Gas-X (overage)
6 Yoplait Yogurt (not pictured)

My total before coupons was $95.18. While I was standing in line I realized I forgot my yogurt and only brought up 2 gas cards with me. My total after coupons and BEFORE gas cards was $3 and change. I then went up to the customer service desk, bought 6 Yoplait yogurt which brought my total to over $100. I only paid $1.60 for the yogurt and I was able to get another 2 gas cards. Again my total in hand is 20 and I have a raincheck for one. My daughter has 2 waiting for her. I have to say that is a pretty good haul on gas cards!!

The receipts shown are for the 2 boxes of diapers and wipes. The other receipt I forgot to take a picture of and it is for the items pictured above. It totalled $83.76 which included 2 gas cards.

BOTTOM LINE: Total spent for the week on everything including diapers and wipes was about $190.82. When I subtract the approximate total for diapers and wipes minus coupons, my total OOP was $71.82.

LAST MINUTE DEALS

I just found these coupons so sorry you only have today to do the Knorr Sides deal. Go HERE to print off various publix coupons good until the end of the month. The Knorr Sides Q will pair nice with the BOGO sale this week.

Also some other good coupons are $2 off Hellman's Mayonnaise, $1.25 off one Pace Salsa, $1 off Swanson Broth, $1 off V-8 juice (I think I have a RC for that :) ), $2 off any one Cheerios or other products, $1/1 Progresso Soup, $1 off Wishbone Salad Dressing, and $1/4 Yoplait Yogurt.

Check the database to see if there are any MQ's to stack and you should be able to get some good deals!

NEW COUPON POLICY!!

Well, it is finally here! The new coupon policy is out. I called a few stores and I received different responses from each one.

SR 16 - They told me the new policy will be in effect on May 23rd. As of right now they take Target, Wags,CVS, Food Lion, Winn Dixie, and Dollar General as competitors. She did not know which were going to be eliminated from the list when the new policy goes into effect on the 23rd. She also did not know if they were going to be accepting expired coupons any longer.

A1A BEACH - Accepts Winn Dixie, CVS, Family Dollar, Food Lion and Walgreens as competitors. They will NOT accept expired coupons.

COBBLESTONE - They will accept Target, CVS, Walgreens, Winn Dixie and Food Lion as competitors. They will NOT accept expired coupons.

MOULTRIE - Will accept Walmart, Target, Food Lion, WinnDixie. They WILL NOT accept Family Dollar or CVS $ off $$ coupons. They will NOT accept expired coupons.

Somehow I think some of the competitors are going to change at other stores as of the 23rd. When I read the new policy, it states that they will accept a Publix Coupon for $ off $$ and a competitor for $ off $$. I was told from the girl at the Moultrie store that they will not accept these. If you shop at this store, I suggest you carry a copy of the new policy with you.

The biggest disappointment for me will be the SR 16 store not accepting expired coupons any longer. Sometimes using a coupon for 2 weeks past expiration really helped your bottom line!

If anyone goes to the store and hears anything specific about their store, please leave a comment and share so we all could see what our local stores are doing!!

T.G. LEE MILK COUPON

I have mentioned this site before but it is worth mentioning again. Every two months you are able to download a $1 coupon off T.G. Lee milk. Go HERE and sign up to print your coupon. Make sure you hit your back browser and print two. I just printed mine off today.

This milk is available at CVS and Target. It is more expensive at Target so when you go to CVS to do your drugstore deals, buy a gallon of milk!! Sometimes they even offer deals where you can get a ECB when buying the milk. That makes the deal even better!

UPDATE: IF YOU TRIED TO PRINT THIS AND IT TOOK YOU TO A YOGURT LINK, I HAVE FIXED THE LINK!! SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION!

PUBLIX 5/9/11, SPENT $165.43

I went into Publix today specifically for the Smart Balance Milk and the razors, both of which I had a raincheck for. Again, I wanted to bring my total up as far as I could to get more gas cards. This time I was shopping alone and the trip was well planned! Remember the gas cards alone cost me $160. That means I paid $5.43 for all the rest of the stuff! I used the overage from the milk and razors to put towards the diapers. This is what I bought:

6 Kleenex Tissue
Cantelope
Bananas
Romaine Lettuce
2 Green Onions
6 Crystal Light
2 B-12 Vitamins (I actually paid for these - no overage!)
10 Smart Balance Milk
10 Disposable Razors
4 Steam Fresh Frozen Vegetables
1 large box of diapers (19.99)
1 large Huggies Wipes $6.99

I actually was going to do the diapers in a separate transaction with a MQ, PQ, $5 off wipes Q, and $5 off $25. When my total was coming down, I saw $6.43 and he stlil had more than $6 worth of coupons to take off so I had him throw the box of diapers and wipes in with that order! My total was $5.43!!! You gotta love overage!! It paid for almost everything else in my cart. The milk has an expiration date of July 15 so I won't be buying milk for a while. Actually, I lied! I will be buying more milk next week because I have more $2 MQ's and will stack with a $1 PQ and pay $.69 for a 1/2 gallon. I only have until next week to do it because my coupon will expire.

I was able to get 4 more gas cards and now have a total of 16!!

MORE FREE YOGURT

Do you have any Yoplait YoPlus Yogurt Coupons? They are available to print here if you haven't printed them already. A big thank you to Margaret who e-mailed me and told me they are ringing up 2 for $3 instead of 2 for $5!! If you have the $1 printable, it becomes a moneymaker! Also check your binder for $.50 peelies if you bought it the last time it was on sale.

Darn...I don't have either...but I am stocked up on Voskos Greek Yogurt when we were able to get it for FREE last week!! Gotta love FREE YOGURT!

$2/2 Publix store Coupon Start Your Year Out With Big Savings booklet

PUBLIX VS WALMART

I found this today on a blog somewhere and I thought it was interesting. She bought the items pictured and listed below. The part I liked was she saved about $12 if she would have bought the same items at Walmart. Yes, cereal is cheaper at Walmart. But you will never beat a grocery store sale with Walmart's everyday low price. This is proof!

6 Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal @ BOGO $3.99 = $11.97
- 3 $1/2 Rice Krispies coupons from the 4/17 RedPlum insert
= $8.97 for six, or $1.50 each

6 Kellogg's Crunchy Nut cereal @ BOGO $3.99 = $11.97\
- 6 70¢ off Crunchy Nut coupons from the 3/27 RedPlum insert
= $7.77 for six, or $1.30 each

2 Kraft mayo @ BOGO $5.18
- $1/2 Kraft mayo coupon from the 4/10 Smartsource insert
= $4.18 for two, or $2.09 each

2 Tidy Cat litter @ BOGO $2.49 (for the pet rabbit)
- 2 $1 off Tidy Cat coupons from the 5/1 SmartSource insert
= 49¢ for two, or 25¢ each

1 newspaper @ 75¢ (bought last Wednesday but included here as a couponing expense)

$5 off $30 Publix coupon from the Spring Cleaning Sale booklet (found in newspaper)

Total before coupons: $32.26
Total after coupons: $17.16
Total savings based on full-priced items at Publix: $56.81
Real savings: (what I saved compared to buying these items at an everyday low prices store like ALDI or Walmart) approximately $12

GOOD DEAL ON ORE-IDA FRENCH FRIES

Ore-Ida French Fries are priced at about $3.90 a package. Use the B2G1 FREE coupon from the Spring Family Gatherings Book and stack with the B2G1 FREE Publix coupon which was in the Spring Into Savings Yellow Adv. Flyer. You will get 3 bags of french fries and pay for 1!!

You can only do this deal if your store will accept an expired Publix coupon.

ALMOST FREE YOPLAIT SMOOTHIES

About 1 1/2 months ago there were Publix coupons in the weekly ad flyer and one of them was $1 off 2 Yoplait Smoothie Mix. You can all see where I am going with this! They are on a BOGO sale for $3.19 and there is a printable coupon for $1. Stack the MQ and the PQ and pay only $.10 for a Yoplait Smoothie! I have 6 coupons so they will be in my cart for sure!!

Make sure your store will accept an expired store coupon before you do this deal!

PUBLIX 5/5/11

I stopped at Publix today to do a few more diaper deals (my kids are sooo lucky!!) and found this new booklet in the turnabout where they have the new ad. I was able to get 3 more gas cards bringing my total to 10!!

This is what I bought in two transactions on two different credit cards:

1 Philadelphia Cooking Creme (overage using WD Q and $1.50 blinkie)
2 Gas-X (for overage)
1 Large box Huggies Diapers
1 Large bag of Huggies Wipes
2 Sundown Vitamins (overage)
2 John Freida Shampoo/Conditioner
Refried Beans
Whole grain pasta
2 Gas Cards

My total spent including the cards was $83.16. The gas cards alone were $80.00. That means my diapers, wipes, and other items were $3.16 and that is including tax!!

My next transaction was just another large $20 box of diapers and wipes plus another $50 gas card. My total was $51.12. That means I paid $11.12 for the diapers and wipes which is an awesome deal!

I plan on going back on Wed. and do my last trip once my coupons come in that I ordered. I have hoping to get another 3 gas cards off that trip! I figured out that if you are spending $4 for a gallon of gas (I use premimum so mine is $4.15), and you save $10, you are actually getting your gas for $3.20 a gallon! Need I say more? Try to get as many gas cards as you can! I won't have to "buy" gas for at least a couple months!

My total OOP has been $110.94 which includes three $20 boxes of diapers and three $7 bags of refill Huggies Wipes for my kids. When I deduct that out because I don't want to include it in my weekly grocery total, I spent approximately $67 OOP to get 10 gas cards!! Not bad! My daughters are going to see if they can get more $3.50 Huggies coupons and I will stack with the other 2 coupons and get even more diapers at that stock-up price!!

7 GAS CARDS ON FIRST TRIP TO THE STORE!

My whole shopping trip I planned was shot to hell. My husband came home today and met with a nutritionist and she put him on a meal plan (aka diet) that uses no canned veggies (I have 80 cans beans and corn), no oatmeal for breakfast (I have 10 boxes), whole grain pasta (I have 12 boxes of white), no processed food (think Uncle Ben's Ready Rice, Rice A Roni) etc. I think you get the picture. I brought out my rainchecks and between 6 boxes of trash bags, 10 bottles of All and 10 boxes of kleenex I spent $40. I had my daughter with me so in the cart goes Kashi cookies, bulgar wheat, Organic granola, Wasa crackers, acai juice, parsley, avacados, etc. of which I had no coupons for any of it! (Could you tell she is going to go to college in the fall for a nutrition degree??) I spent $89 after my coupons!! YIKES!! I was able to get 6 gas cards because my total was $150.00 before coupons! I then put a large box of diapers and large wipes on a separate transaction and got another gas card. My total OOP was $365 for all of it with $280 put out for gas cards. Considering the gas cards totalled $350 and I would buy it anyways, I only paid $15 for all my other stuff. Not bad when you look at it that way! This is what I bought:

Tropicana Orange Juice (low sugar, of course)
Organic Acai Drink
Kashi Cookies
Organic granola
Wasa Crackers
Bulgar (this was $6!!)
2 I Can't Believe It's not Butter
Celery
Avacados
Parsley
Bananas
Breakstone Cottege Cheese (4 pk)
4 John Freida Styling Products
10 All Detergent
6 Hefty Trash Bags
10 Boxes of Kleenex (when I tell you we're good on kleenex I mean it!!)
2 8 O'clock Coffee
2 Vitamins
2 Phazayme
6 gas cards ($240)

On a separate transaction I did:

1 Large box Huggies diapers
1 Large Refill Huggies wipes
1 gas card

My daughter shamed me into not getting the Crystal Light that I was so excited to get! How often do you get to buy 4 and pay for 1?? She proceeded to tell me that aspertame is the 5th ingredient on the label and that stuff is so bad for you!! It didn't help that the nutritionist told my husband not to eat anything with aspertame in it!! He drinks one diet coke a day and she told him it was better to drink a full calorie drink instead of the diet because of the aspertame. Heck, I even ordered coupons today to stock up on Crystal Light. It is my favorite drink!! Also on my list were Yoplait smoothies, Knoor pasta sides, and a few other things that I decided not to get if no one in the house was going to eat it!

I'll make another trip back when my razor and Smart Balance Milk coupons come in. That should get me at least another 2 gas cards! Plus I will do another diaper deal and get another gas card there. You might as well stock up when you can buy 1 large box of diapers and large wipes for about $12!!

Did I do as well as my last trip to the store when the gas card deal was on? No, but I didn't have my daughter putting every high price organic thing in the cart! I guess I can't complain because $89 is better than $150! Plus I don't have to buy trash bags and kleenex for a couple years!

RUMORS ON NEW COUPON POLICY

As we all know, Publix is getting ready to change it's coupon policy. I don't know if it is because of shows like Extreme Couponers where they clean off the shelves or people becoming more savy with coupons because of a weak economy. I have been reading on hotcouponworld that some of the stores have starting enforcing the following rules:

They are limiting the number of competitor Q's to 12 per day.
You can still use a manufacturer coupon per item purchased.
They ARE accepting printable coupons.
BOGO limits are 3 deals per customer or 6 items.
BOGO Rainchecks will also be written for a max of 3 deals
Rainchecks for 10/$10 items will be a limit of 20.
They are only accepting traditional grocery store coupons as competitors.

Is this terrible? No, not really. If there is an item I want 10 of I guess that means I just have to buy it in another trip to the store. I usually go a couple of time a week anyway. Right now they are limiting the rainchecks for a max of 5 deals so that won't be such a bad thing either. Is it still going to be cheaper to shop at Publix than at Walmart...ABSOLUTELY!!!

What I am waiting to hear is if they will still take a MQ for 1 or 2 weeks past expiration. That is huge! I also benefit from the expired Publix coupons. I guess we will all know in a couple of weeks! My daughter is a Publix cashier. I will post it when I get the word from her after they are trained!

GROCERY TOTALS FOR APRIL, SPENT $55/WK.

I added up my grocery totals for the month of April. I spent a little more than usual because I bought 4 large $20 boxes of diapers that I usually don't buy for my family! Now you know I didn't pay the retail price of $20 but I did add a little to my grocery budget. I stocked up on 20 razors, shredded cheese (I now have over 25), canned crushed tomatoes, 32 boxes of kleenex, 10 Smart Balance Milk, 10 Uncle Ben's Ready Rice, boneless chicken, pork chops, Carving Board lunchmeat, and V-8 juice just to name a few. I spent aproximately $222 for the month, about $55 a week. Remember this total accounts for my groceries as well as non-edible items that you hate to spend money on. I now have enough kleenex to get me through the end of the year and more!!

Is April really over??

GREAT DEALS ON BREAD AT BIG LOTS

I happened to be in Big Lots and saw some great deals on bread, rolls, english muffins, bagels, etc. If you are ever in the area, they usually sell these items for a greatly reduced price. I bought a loaf of Pepperidge Farm Oatmeal Bread (my daughters favorite) and paid $1.80 for it. The expiration date was still 4 days out and it is still good past the expiration date. Here are some of the other things they had:

Thomas' English Muffins $1.20
Thomas' Bagels $1.20
Arnold Rolls, sandwich and sub, 12 pk. $1.80
Sara Lee Bread $1.20
Pepperidge Farm Raisen Bread $1.80

These are just a few of the items they had. They also had a variety of Entemann's pastries and various other breads and rolls as well. For those of you who have a family, this might be a good place to stock up on bread for lunches!! Also, the dollar store has awesome deals on bread as well and they are, of course, $1 a loaf!!

Don't forget about the Sertoma Thrift Shop on US 1. They get all types of Publix breads, rolls and sweets between 12 and 1 pm daily. All the items are $.50 with a limit of two placed on the sweet items!

They also had fruit snacks, 10 pack, on clearance for $.85!!! They were in the isle with a sticker over the original price. They were still in date and had plenty in stock!! Also check out their baby food in the baby section way over to the right by the furniture.

GAS CARD IS BACK!

Start pulling out all your rainchecks!! The gas card deal is back again starting on Thursday! Your goal is to get your total up as high as you can and spend the least amount OOP to get as many gas cards as you can! You can bet I will be pulling my rainchecks out so I can get oodles of gas cards. The last time the gas card deal was on I was able to get 11 cards!!

Went to Winn Dixie and loaded up on 18 boxes of dryer sheets.
With the skills I learned from your class I was able to purchase all of the dryer sheets for $5.77
The sheets are BOGO $3.99 @ Winn Dixie and with my $3/2 man coupons and my $5/$30....

Without your class.. This wouldn't of been possible...... Sincerely...Michelle

The deals just keep on coming!! Whether it be dryer sheets, peanut butter, pasta sauce, or razors, keep the e-mails comin' to show others our success stories! Thanks Michelle for the e-mail! Great job!!

BRAG SPOT FROM LAURA ON CVS

Below is an e-mail I received from Laura S. who took the coupon class about 4 weeks ago. This is an example of what you can do and how much you can save.

HI Judi!!

I was so anxious last night to get all the new coupons and inserts in the paper this morning, I think my boyfriend thought I was nuts!! :-) But I got back home at 8am after picking up papers for myself and my mom and got straight to work. I was so excited!!! LOL. I finished up planning my CVS trip close to 2pm!! I couldn't believe how much time I had spent getting prepared, but it was okay because it kept me busy and I was learning.

Got a plan together for the best way to use the EB's first before the MQ's and mapped out my purchases. I was so nervous all day I had butterflies in my stomach!! Hoping that I had worked it all out right and that I would be saving money...not spending...lol.
I ended up doing 4 seperate transactions and luckily the cashier was so nice. I hate making people wait, so I tried to get to the register when it seemed like there were not too many people in the store. I went last weekend with my Mom to rack up our EB's so that we would have "money" to spend once we could devote more time and coupons to it. I ended up with $17.99 in EB's.

Here's how it went:

Transaction #1
Bounty Paper Towels 8pk. on Sale for $7.99
- Used $7.99 EB
- spent $.48 for tax oop
- saved $9.99
- got $2.00 EB

Transaction #2
Tide Laundry Detergent 31-40 loads $5.99
Charmin Basic Toilet Paper 12pk. $4.99
-Used $11.00EB
-Spent $.66 for tax oop
- Saved $18.28
- got $3.00 EB

Transaction #3
Colgate 6oz. Max Fresh toothpaste $2.77 (Freebie)
Pantene Pro-V Shampoo and Conditioner 2/$5.97 (FYI in the ad it's listed for 2/$6.97, but when it rings up it rings in at 2/$5.97)
-used $4.00 EB
- used $3/2 Pantene Products MQ
- Used $1/1 Colgate MQ
- Spent $2.27 oop
- Saved $11.43
- Got $4.77EB

Transaction #4
(2) Right Guard Deodorant $2.99 ea.
(4) Dawn Dish Soap $ .99 ea.
(1) Bic Soleil Shimmer Razor starter kit $6.99
(1) Green Bag Tag $ .99
-Used $4.77 EB
-used (4) .25 MQ's for Dawn
- used $3 MQ for Bic
- Used BOGO MQ for Right Guard
-Spent $7.24
- Saved $16.56
- Got $5.00 EB

So total spent was $10.65 and Total saved was about $35.00.
Thank you so much!!! I was so nervous but am so excited that I saved so much!! Looking forward to my first Publix trip!! Thanks for all your help!!

Laura
