NEW COUPON WORKSHOP SCHEDULED

A new coupon workshop will be scheduled on Monday, 11/14/11 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

I will go over everything you need to know about smart couponing the grocery store and drugstores. The class fee is $15 and space is limited.

Please contact me at 904-540-5225 to reserve your seat!

A FEW GOOD BUYS AND A GOOD RECIPE!

Today I ran into Publix just to pick up Publix Turkey Gravy. On my last shopping trip they were out so I decided I would run in and get just gravy. Priced at 2 for $1 it is a great deal to get for your Thanksgiving turkey.

I picked up 8 packages for $4. Not bad when the price of name brand is $1.55 each.

Next I headed over to CVS to pick up the evaporated milk they were out of when I went on Sunday. These are priced at $1 each. Use the $.50/2 coupon from the 10/30 RP or HERE and pay only $.75 each. These are priced over $1.50 each at Publix so it was worth the trip.

Why buy evaporated milk? You will run to CVS and get yours too when you try this recipe for this amazing chowder. It was so easy and so delicious! Here it is...

CORN AND SAUSAGE CHOWDER

1 lb. sausage meat (I used Jimmy Dean HOT breakfast sausage)
1 large onion, chopped
3 large potatoes, cubed
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp basil
2 cups water
1 can cream corn
1 can evaporated milk

Brown sausage and onion in pan. Add potatoes, salt, pepper, basil, and water. Cover and simmer 15 minutes. Stir in evaporated milk and cream corn. Cover and heat almost to boiling.

This soup is versitile. Next time I am going to try it with italian sausage. It tastes soooo good on a cold day

WALGREENS 10/29/11

I forgot to post my small Walgreens trip I did on Saturday. I had one $8/1 CoverGirl Coupon left and I needed the Wet-n-Wild Lip Liner #666 you see in the picture. This lipliner was on the Today Show a long time ago as a super buy because not only is it $.99 but it matches almost everyone! I ran out so I went in to buy two of them.

While I was there I decided to use my last CG $8/1 coupon to get blush which was $5.99 buy one get another 1/2 price.

My total for the blush and two lipliners was $3.06.

CVS 10/30/11, SPENT $1.06

Another awesome CVS trip! I had ECB's that expired on 10/25 so I wanted to use them this week. Remember, CVS will take your expired ECB's. DON'T THROW THEM OUT! I have personally used them for a week past expiration although I have heard they will take them longer.

I scanned my card and got a coupon for a FREE Illy Coffee Drink. Make sure you do the same. This is what I bought:

Illy Cappucinno Refrigerated Drink
Dawn Dish Soap
2 Thermacare
1 Schick Quattro Razor Cartridge (look in your binder for $5 coupon)
1 Crest Pro Health Toothpaste
Dulcolax Suppositories (for emergencies, if you know what I mean)

My total OOP was $.16, $1.06 including tax! I used $11.79 in ECB's and got back $10 in ECB's. Keep those ECB's rolling!

PUBLIX 10/29/11, SPENT $35.45, SAVED 63%

This Publix trip was more about picking up a few things I needed for the Gator Game and adding to my stock of Hefty Storage/Freezer bags. This deal wasn't as good as the deal last summer, but I took the opportunity to spend $8.40 and get 12 boxes.

The Picsweet vegetables was appealing to me because I want to make Chicken Divan and I didn't have any broccoli left. This is what I bought. Believe me, nothing exciting!

4 Family Size Pic Sweet Broccoli
2 Bushs Chili Beans
2 Green Scallions
Kosher Salt
2 Jiffy Corn Mix
4 Publix Tea
2 Lays Chips
2 Recees Jumbo Bag Peanut Butter Cup (these will be all mine!!!)
2 Cover Girl Blush (stocking stuffer)OOPS, not in picture!
12 Hefty Storage/Freezer Bags
Plum Tomatoes
Potato Rolls
French Baguette
Butter

Let me take the time to tell you about this AWESOME appetizer I made for the Gator Game. It was so simple and so DELICIOUS!!

Pour olive oil in a plate. Add chopped green onions, chopped roma tomatoes, and a package of Athenos Feta Cheese. Yes, the feta cheese we got last week for $.50! The secret ingredient is Cavender's Greek Seasoning. I know you have all seen it. Sprinkle some on top and mix! The more you put on the more flavor there is! Now is not the time to be shy...keep sprinkling!

Cut the bagette bread into slices and sop up all the feta cheese goodness on it. You can be polite and spoon it on the bread, but believe me dragging the bread through it and soaking up the EVOO is the way to go!

I guarantee you that you will not be disappointed! Make this extremely easy appetizer for your next get together and everyone will ask you for the recipe!

Don't think for a minute that was all we had for food for the game. We also had 2 slabs of ribs, chicken wings, both my husbands speciality, ham with potato rolls, chowder 3 lbs. shrimp with dip and a dessert.

Anybody want to come to my house next year???

WALMART

I went to Walmart this morning...yes the dreaded Walmart. I NEVER go to Walmart anymore but my husband needed something there so I tagged along because I wanted to look at reading glasses.

I can no longer blink away the fuzziness in my eyes. The morning seems to be the worst time. I try to read something and it focuses and then gets fuzzy. It gets better as the day goes on but in the morning I need some help. It stinks getting old.

What I did find at Walmart is a hangtag for $1/3 bottles of Dr. Pepper Ten. My daughter and husband love this! It is priced at $1 a bottle at Walmart so you get 3 bottles for $2.

What else I noticed is all the things I buy now at Publix on a BOGO sale (with a coupon, of course!) that are MUCH CHEAPER at Publix than Walmart's everyday price. How in the heck did I live thinking that shopping at Walmart was cheaper!

If you are couponing and shopping primarily at Publix, get down on your knees and thank the lucky stars you don't have to go in Walmart anymore. I know I did when I left there!

STEWART'S WEEKLY AD

I'm back!!!

WHEW!!!! What a LONG week! I got the phone call from my daughter a week ago Monday when she was at her doctor appointment. The doctor wanted her to go to the hospital immediately to start inducing. She managed to convince him she needed someone to watch Addison and had to be to the hospital by 6:00 that evening.

I jumped in the car and off I went. I was so scared to drive to Miami by myself but I stopped by the library and got a few books on tape. I figured it would pass the time quickly. I decided to get a biography...ask me anything you want on Oprah Winfrey and I will probably know the answer! It ended up being a great way to make the time to faster.

NO PUBLIX OR ANYTHING FOR ME THIS WEEK!

If you are wondering where I have been and why the lack of posts it's because I am in Miami with my daughter and family who just had a baby on Tuesday, Oct. 18th at 3:45 pm.

I drove down to Miami on Monday afternoon by myself, which was a small feat in itself! I am petrified of all the crazy drivers and traffic here! They were to check-in to the hospital at 6:00 and, of course, had to wait until 8:30 for a room. She was three weeks early and they were going to induce her.

At midnight she got up to to the bathroom before they started the cervadill and her water broke! The baby decided he was going to come on his own!

My guess for the birth was sometime before 3 and 4 pm. Anderson Jett Martin was born at 3:45 pm! Now if I were a betting woman, I would go and buy a lottery ticket!

He was 6 lbs. 7 ozs, 18" long with a head full of dark hair!

Needless to say, I haven't had time to look any coupon deals while I help take care of Tiffany, Huey, Addison and now Anderson. I won't be back in town until next Wednesday and then straight back to work on Thursday.

If any of you see any awesome deals you don't think I would want to miss, please e-mail me so I could get in on the deal! You know I sure hate missing deals!

Thanks to Margaret who let me know about the water deal. I have already printed those coupons and will head to Publix to get my free water!

I will post some pictures of baby Anderson when I get back into town!

There is NOTHING like a newborn baby...even a good coupon deal!

PUBLIX 10/16/11, SPENT $20.83, SAVED 80%

I used three rainchecks in this shopping trip. One for the V8 juice, Scrubbing Bubbles, and Philadelphia Cream Cheese. The cashier at the beach store informed me that they were no longer accepting rainchecks past 30 days old. I have never had any problem in the past using them longer. I am curious to see if this is something they are going to start enforcing. I'd love to hear from anyone if they have had any similar situations.

This is what I bought:

6 Spicy V8 Juice
2 Philadelphia Cream Cheese
4 Welchs Grape Juice
2 Arnold 12 Grain Bread
2 Starburst Halloween Candy
4 Zatarin Jambalya
Bananas
Cucumbers
Dole Tropical Fruit
2 La Creme Yogurt
6 Hunts Tomatoes
2 Johnson & Johnson Baby Wash
2 Sominex
8 Scrubbing Bubbles
Box of Animal Crackers

I was able to use a $5/30 WD coupon from the Living Social Deal I posted about earlier. These coupons have been awesome to use each time! They were definitely worth it!

My cleaning supplies are well-stocked. I am sure I don't have to buy any for at least 1 1/2 years. I think that is pretty darn cool!

After Publix I headed to Winn Dixie. I ran into someone I knew in there and she said to me "I thought you shopped at Publix". I told her I just left there and went into WD to get a few items. I bought:

2 Hormel Pork Loins BOGO (used 2 $1/1 q's
1 Pork Butt

Total Paid at WD $11.79

My produce was purchased at Stuarts Market. Fresh asparagus, onions, potatoes, garlic, lettuce and a few steaks. Always fresh!

If you have a foaming hand soap bottle, wait until it is empty and put in about 1" of Johnsons Baby Wash. DO NOT SHAKE. Leave some room at the top and gently turn bottle to mix.

That's it! Just think of how far the baby wash will go when you refill the foaming hand soap bottle!

POSSIBLE DEAL ON JOHN FRIEDA SHAMPOO OR CONDITIONER

I am not sure of the price of John Frieda Shampoo/Conditioner but I think it is about $5.49. If you use the $2/1 coupon from the 10/9 RP and stack with the $3/2 TQ you should be able to get it for about $2 a bottle.

I don't like to pay any more than $.50 for shampoo/conditioner, but if you need it now it is a good price.

Does anyone know how much this is?

GOOD DEAL ON EGGS AT TARGET

Looking to get an even better deal on eggs?

Then head to Target and use the $1/2 Market Pantry breakfast items TQ and stack with the $.55/2 egg coupon we just printed a few days ago. Hopefully you were able to print it! Buy 2 cartons of eggs.

The final price will be just $1.12 per dozen. The coupon I printed expires on 11/5/11.

The target coupon excludes milk and juice.

FREE DEODORANT AT WALGREENS

Looks like the Arrid Deodorant coupon is live again. I went to print it yesterday and the prints were not available. If you want to get some free deodorant for your family, print the coupon again before it disappears and head to Walgreens to do the following deal.

Buy 1 Arrid Antiperspirant/Deodorant $0.99 with in-ad coupon
Use the $1/1 coupon found HERE
Final Cost FREE!

Make sure you hand over the MQ first and then the in-ad coupon so the register doesn't beep! Knowing how sensitive the registers are at Walgreens, I would buy two because you are going to be printing two coupons and add a small item in to absorb the $.02 overage.

BOOKLET FOUND AT K-MART

I wandered into K-Mart today only after I had been to Target. I was looking for those streamers that you put on a kids bicycle handles. Target did not have them.

In an effort to keep from going to Walmart (that's how much I hate it) I went to K-Mart. I haven't been in there in so long...and then I remembered why! It's not as bad as Walmart but try to find an employee to help you. They must work with a skeleton crew and by the time you get up to the register it is too late.

As I walked past the pharmacy, there was a table with coupons and booklets on it. This 2011 K-Mart Monthly Planner was there. You are only able to use October, November, and December coupons.

The November and December coupons are the only ones worth posting.

The November coupons are for $5 off $50 worth of toys and $5 off $50 wyb food, household comsumables, diapers, pet supplies, health and beauty or office and school supplies.

December's coupon is $5/$50 wyb any merchandise.

I wouldn't run in there and do my weekly grocery shopping, but if there is a certain item that they have that you can purchase there as cheaply as Walmart, it might be worth going in and picking up the booklet to get the coupons.

Sometimes I think I would pay K-Mart $5 just to shop there instead of going to Walmart!

$1.50/1 SMART BALANCE MILK COUPON

In case you didn't see the comment from Margaret about the Smart Balance Milk coupon, here it is again!

Go HERE and use zip 43420 and print off a $1.50 Smart Balance Milk Coupon. Remember when you print this alone it prints at the bottom of the page. Print it with another coupon and it will skip the advertisement and just print the coupons!

Don't waste any time in getting this one printed! I am sure the print limit will be reached quickly!

STEWART'S WEELY AD

The new ad is up for Stewarts and boneless skinless chicken breasts are again $1.99 lb. My target price for fresh asparagus is $1.99 lb. Make sure you pick up some of that this week also.

Garlic, potatoes, onions, broccoli, and cantelope will round out my list! Stop by Stewart's and pick up some fresh produce. While you are there, try their homemade italian sausage and fresh ground chuck. They are the best in town!

SMART BALANCE MILK COUPON

I love milk coupons. They come around every once in awhile and you should print them when you see them. Go HERE and use zip 90210 under BEVERAGES, and print a $1/1 coupon for Smart Balance Milk. It was just on sale a few weeks back but maybe we will see it go 2 for $5 again.

The best thing about Smart Balance Milk is that is has an expiration date of 6 - 8 weeks away! I don't go through as much milk now as I used to so it is perfect for us!

If you print the $1/1 coupon by itself, be warned it prints at the end of the page. I lost one coupon by putting in a small piece of paper. I was able to print the $1/1 and a $.75/1 from zip 90210 and they both printed at the top of the page.

I still haven't figured that one out!!

IT PAYS TO CALL COMPANIES

I love Olay products. I usually buy Olay cleansers about two times per year when we can get them real cheap at Publix. I usually am able to get enough to last me until the next sale.

I have an Olay Age Defying Cleanser that the pump stopped working. I called Olay and asked if they could send me a new pump.

No, they can't send a new pump but they will send a coupon for a FREE REPLACEMENT BOTTLE!

The moral of the story is to call or e-mail a company if you have any comlaints or compliments about their product. Was this call worth it? Yes it was! I am looking forward to receiving my coupon for a new bottle of Olay cleanser in the mail!

MORE CHEAP MASCARA

Looking for more cheap mascara? I love getting new mascara! I always seem to use mine past the point of no return!

Target has CoverGirl Lash Blast Mascara for $5.99 x 2 = $11.98
Use $8/2 from 10/2 PG
Pay less than $2 per tube!

That's a great deal for this mascara. It is one of my favorites! It also got the Cosmopolitian Beauty Award!

CHEAP MASCARA AND FREE CARDS AT CVS PLUS A FREE BRUSH SET

I ran to CVS this morning with two ECB's totaling $5.69 that expired in a few days. The Covergirl $8/2 coupon was burning a hole in my pocket. I figured I could get a good deal on mascara, something I ALWAYS love to get, with this coupon and the $3/10 from the magic coupon machine.

Since this deal did not give me any ECB's to roll, I added three American Greeting Cards to my deal. I have 3 grandkids with birthdays in October and December. I had to buy cards anyways so I decided to do it with my makeup scenerio.

Not only did I pay $2.06 plus tax for 2 Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara and 3 birthday cards, but I will send in my receipt for a BRUSH SET found HERE. This will make a great stocking stuffer for my daughter!

The three greeting cards also gave me back $3 ECB to roll with my others next week.

BIG LOTS AND GLUTEN FREE FOOD

Gluten, a type of protein found in wheat, barley, rye and some other carbohydrates, isn’t necessarily bad for you. However, more and more people are now discovering that they have some form of gluten intolerance, ranging from a mild sensitivity to celiac disease. Symptoms range from mild abdominal pain and bloating to headaches, vomiting and joint pain. If you have one or more of these symptoms, don’t automatically assume you’re gluten intolerant. Since the symptoms are so varied, if you suspect you have celiac disease or are gluten intolerant, you should talk to your doctor before making any major dietary changes.

Once you have determined that you need to eliminate or reduce gluten from your diet, what next? Aren’t gluten-free products really expensive? Well, yes and no.

I wandered into Big Lots this week and they have tons of gluten free food at great prices. It included everthing from pancake mix to things I didn't even know existed in gluten free.

If you have someone who is on a gluten free diet, check out the display at Big Lots. I am sure you will find it cheaper than the regular grocery store. While you are there, check out their deal on bread and muffins!

HOW TO READ CODES ON SUNSCREEN CANS

Have you ever seen a number like this on the bottom of your sunscreen and don't have a clue as to what it means.

Well, it is coded to figure out the date it was manufactured. The FDA says the sunblock is good for 3 years after the manufacture date. You can then use it for another year past that before it starts breaking down and loses its effectiveness.

So lets look at this, shall we?

AC-9-013

Forget about the AC. That is there to throw you off! the next number is the year the sunscreen was manufactured. In this case it is 2009. The next number, 013 means it was manufactured on the 13th day of the year.

From this we can tell this bottle of sunscreen is good until January 2012 and then you can use for 1 year past that!

When you start seeing all kinds of sunscreen show up at the dollar store and Ross when they have to change their labeling, be sure to check the date and snatch some up at a good price!

PUBLIX 10/9/11, SPENT $16.81, SAVED 75%

I was most excited about the feta cheese this week. That is pretty sad when that is the only thing you could be excited about is the feta chese.

Oh...and maybe the deli tea. The pasta deal comes around all the time so that was nothing to get excited about. It seems like just a few months ago pasta was $1.29 and $1.39 a box. Now it is $1.51. Everything just seems to be creeping up a little at a time!

I had 2 defective shaving cream cans and a cream of mushroom soup can that lost its ring to open it. I brought those items back and got a $8.40 gift card. I applied that to my total to pay only $16.81. This is what I got:

Loaf of bakery bread
18 ct. eggs
12 feta cheese (excellent price at $.55 each.
4 Steamfresh Veggies
2 Armour Meatballs
1 Cream Cheese
14 Muellers Pasta
6 Extra Gum
2 Publix Deli Tea
10 Rotel Tomatoes (used RC and $1/3 PQ)
4 Creamed Corn
Bananas

My total before the $8.40 gift card was $25.21, a savings of 75%.

I also received my $10 Publix gift card in the mail today from the Conagra Rebate. Be on the lookout for yours! I'll take that off my next shopping trip!

MY STRAWS ARE FINALLY ALMOST GONE

I called my daughter a few days ago and asked her if she remembered the straw deal we did. It turns out it was 2 years and 3 months ago.

The deal we did involved charcoal, pork, hot dogs, BBQ sauce and straws. The deal was so good we went back 4 times that week and did the deal over and over. You had to buy a Glad product so our product of choice was straws. The sale repeated itself the following week so we did it all over again.

Needless to say, after two weeks our freezers were full of hot dogs and pork with plenty of charcoal to cook it on.

"When are we going to use all this charcoal?" my husband asked. We gave a few bags away, but yes we did use it all.

Now here it is 2 years later and I am on my last box of straws. I haven't seen that deal since then so I am glad my stock of straws lasted as long as it did.
I called my daughter and she ironically said she only had 1 straw left.

Kind of sad...but I did use all the straws also!

I never thought I would miss all those straws!

MY CVS RUN 10/7/11

I still have to see if I could put together another scenerio with my ECB's but I did this one on the way to work.

My daughter drinks shampoo and conditioner. So it makes sense to stock up when I can get it for a good price.

Buy 5 Dove Shampoo or Conditioner 2/$5
Used 2 BOGO coupons from 10/2 RP
Used 1 $.75/1 from coupons.com
Used 2 $1/1 (printable no longer available

Paid just under $3 and got back $5 in ECB's

PUBLIX 10/5/11, SPENT $2.97, SAVED 91%

Today was the last day to get the FREE Fiber One Cereal. Since Publix is less than one mile away from work, I ran in to get the cereal and the Stouffer's Lasagna.

The lasagna is normally $7.99 and is on sale for $3.99. After using the $1 MQ and the $1.50 TQ you pay only $1.49 for it!

My total OOP for these 5 items was $2.97!! That will be at least 6 dinners and a months worth of breakfast! Now that is what I call a deal!

Was that worth stopping at Publix on the way home. I think so!

GET ALL YOU MAGAZINE FOR $10

I love getting my All You subscription in the mail. I get so many great tips, recipes, and coupons. Who can forget the coupons? Every month there is a huge list of in magazine coupons to use! One month of getting the magazine will pay for the entire years cost of the magazine! Another thing I don’t have to worry about when getting the subscription by mail is that I don’t have to fight the crowds at Walmart just to find out they ran out of the magazine!

As I tell everyone who takes my class, Southern Living, Coastal Living, and ALL YOU are my favorite magazines.

Get your subscription HERE.

CHEAP COVER GIRL COSMETICS

WOW! Were any of you guys excited to see the $8/2 CoverGirl coupon in last Sundays paper? I know I was.

One of my favorite mascaras is CoverGirl Lash Blast. I saw an advertisement in this weekends paper for Lash Blast Mascara but I can't remember the price!! I think you should be able to get a tube for under $3. That's a good deal at Walmart!

I personally like to use these coupons at CVS to get ECB's but will probably do the deal at Walmart to get some cheap mascara!

MORE FREE CEREAL?

Do you remember the FREE FIBER ONE Cereal I told you about last week. You had to use the $2 coupon out of the yellow advantage flyer and stack with the $1/2 MQ to get the cereal for FREE.

Well, here we go again! Use two $2/1 PQ from the 10/2 SS and stack with the $1/2 MQ from the 9/25 SS and get 2 boxes for FREE AGAIN!!

Sorry it took me so long to tell you about this deal. I forgot to post it yesterday.

Thanks to Margaret for reminding me about it!

WHAT DID YOU HAVE FOR DINNER TONIGHT?

If you were lucky enough to be on Hip's blog this afternoon and you saw the post about getting a FREE flatbread pizza from Domino's, this is what you would have been eating tonight!

Thanks to my daughters' who were thinking of me and signed me up to pick up a FREE PIZZA after work. Thanks Tiffany and Shannon for thinking of your momma!!!

This deal was dead in just under an hour! That is how fast it went!

I was never a Domino's pizza fan but this flatbread artisen pizza was awesome! I would definitely get this again.

ATHENOS FETA CHEESE BLINKIE

Just a reminder to be sure to grab your Athenos Feta Cheese blinkie for $.75/1 off. It is in front of the feta cheese right now at Publix but probably won't be there when the BOGO sale starts on Thursday. This blinki1e is good thru November so make sure you get enough in case it goes on sale again!

In case you haven't noticed, the blinkies have started to appear again so keep your eyes peeled! Summer time is usually a slow time for blinkies.

Maybe the blinkie lady goes on an extended vacation!

PUBLIX 10/3/11, SPENT $20.93, SAVED 74%

I thought this week was a bad week at Publix but I was wrong. It looks like next week is going to be even worse! I don't know if it is only me, but I feel like the deals have been far and few between lately. This is what I bought today:

3 Stouffers Lasagna
2 Gortons Fish Fillets
2 Sara Lee Cheesecakes
Cream Cheese
2 Snackwell Cereal Bars
2 Muellers Pasta
4 Ragu Pizza Sauce
6 Barilla Whole Grain Pasta
Box Au Gratin Potatoes

My total was $21.93. After I finished at the register I realized I forgot to give him a $1 coupon!!! Went back to the customer service desk to get a raincheck and they gave me my $1!!

I have never had the Gortons Fish or the Stouffer's Lasagna so I am curious to try them. It will make for a quick meal on a work night paired with a salad.

Speaking of salad...I went to buy romaine lettuce and it was $2.49!! Can you believe the price of produce lately? That is all the more reason to coupon. I passed by Curry Brothers Produce and stopped in there to get romaine lettuce for $1.49.

Now that's a better price I am happy to pay!
