DID YOU GET YOUR FREE ADVIL TODAY?

First thing this morning before work I ran into Publix to get my FREE Advil. I also picked up a few other things which will probably be all I get at Publix this week! I bought:

12 boxes of Advil
2 Ken's Marinade
2 Lipton Tea
Sour Cream
Orange (which I somehow have misplaced!)

My total before coupons was $62.62
My total after coupons was a big whopping $.82!! This was a savings of 91%
The lady behind me in line was amazed! Then she looked at me and said, "You were in front of me last week!" And I remembered I was.

Last week on Thursday before work I ran in to do the Resolve deal and also picked up a few other things. She happened to be behind me in line. Now what are the chances of her ending up behind me again this week! I went up to her afterwards and told her I taught a coupon class.

As we said goodbye, she said "See you next week!"

So how did your day go today?

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH COUPONS

This picure made me smile...no it made me laugh out loud!!

Just wanted to share it with you in case you needed to smile today!

I'll be smiling tomorrow when I go to Publix to get all my FREE ADVIL!! Hope you make it there also!

BASICS OF STOCKPILING

If you have seen any of the Extreme Couponing episodes as of late you have probably seen episodes of homes filled with an overwhelming amount of stuff...hundreds of mustards, deodorant for years, and miles of toilet paper. It can be a bit scary to look at these mounds of products. You start to think of storage space and the lack there of and you get overwhelmed.

I am going to share with you the not so extreme way to stockpile. If you have been reading this blog for any amount of time you know that I am not an extreme couponer. I am actually just a regular mom who wants to save money on things in order to save my family money.

What Is A Stock Pile?
Stockpiling for couponers means putting up a certain amount of an item while it is on sale so you don't have to pay full price for it.

Why Stock Pile?
If you are able to buy a lot of something at a discount you will not pay full price for it later.

How Much Of An Item Should I Buy?
Most sales run every 6 to 12 weeks. I buy enough of things that won't go bad to last me for those weeks until it will be on sale again.

How Do You Keep Things From Wasting?
Many people ask me this when I speak of stockpiling. The important thing is to observe the dates on your containers. Put the newer stuff toward the back so that you can use your oldest stuff first.

Don't You Spend More Stockpiling?
You may spend more when you initially build your stockpile. However, once you have built your stockpile you will only be added things here and there. It actually comes out to less in the long run because you don't buy things on a weekly basis.

FREEBIES AT TARGET

In the 8/21 SS, we were lucky to get a $5/2 Target coupon for Revlon Beauty Tools. I think this will mean some FREE nail files, FREE nail buffers, FREE clippers, etc.

I plan on using mine on 2 eyelash curlers! I don't know the price yet but I can safely say this will be pretty cheap or close to free.

If the item you are buying is free with overage, make sure you buy something else to absorb the overage.

CHECK OUT MY NEW COUPON BINDER

How do you like my new pink binder? The one I was using before didn't zipper and I found this one at Big Lots for $14!! It has BIG rings to allow me to fill it up! They had another one there but the rings were not as big. Make sure you get the $14 one!

There is also a section that looks like an accordian folder with tabs. It also has a zippered pouch to store your scissors, pens, etc. The best part is it zippers all the way around so you don't lose any of those valuable coupons!

If you would like a new binder, you may want to check these out!

I was able to also use a $5/30 WD coupon from the Living Social deal. Gosh! Those coupons are great! I hope you were able to snag a few of those booklets!

PUBLIX 8/18/11, SPENT $32.32, SAVED 86%

This is going to be a very hectic week. With that in mind and knowing the Resolve Fabric Spray deal was only good today and tomorrow, I headed to the store before work. Actually, early in the morning is a good time to shop! It was not crowded and actually very pleasant!

I couldn't do my whole shopping list because of time constraints, but I wanted to be sure to get the Resolve and V-8 Juice. This is what I bought:

8 Pepperidge Farm Natural Crisps
6 Peanut Butter (will submit for $10 Publix Gift Card Rebate)
12 V-8 Juice
2 Oatmeal Bread
4 Hefty Trash Bags
6 Advil
4 Motts Apple Juice, 10 pk.
8 Resolve Spray
10 Cream of Mushroom Soup
2 Mentos Gum
2 Degree Deodorant

My bill before coupons was $147.00. It's hard to believe some people still pay that!! I paid after sales and coupons only $32.32! Ironically, my husband just told me he needed V-8 Juice. I plan on going back and getting just a few more since I am getting them for $1 a bottle.

After I deduct the $10 that I will receive for the Peanut Butter Rebate, my total OOP will be $22.32! I saved 86% not including my $10 rebate!

STEWART'S SALE AD

If you love bing cherries, head on over to Stewart's Market tomorrow and get them for $1.79 per lb.!! Yes, that is not a typo! I consider $1.99 my stock-up price on cherries.

They will also have fresh pita bread from the Lebanese bakery in Jacksonville (this stuff is awesome with homemade hummus) and fresh celery for $.75 each.

They have been offering fresh shrimp for $4.99 per lb. and we have made fresh shrimp seasoned with old bay several times. I would definitely recommend buying some shrimp at this price.

PULL-UP DIAPERS HAVE ARRIVED AT CVS!

Thanks to a reader of this blog, the CVS at Cobblestone has the Pull-Up Diapers now in stock! I know I went earlier in the week to get them and they didn't have any on the shelf.

She commented that the cashier was not very nice about using the MQ and CVS coupon together but ended up pushing it through. If that happens to you, politely ask to speak to a manager. CVS is usually pretty good about these things so hopefully it was just the cashier having a bad day!

CHECK YOUR BINDERS

Check your binders for a peelie for $1 off any Chinet item. The peelie doesn't expire until 12/31/11 so I may just hold on to them for the sales on those awesome Chinet oval plates they put on sale before Thanksgiving. If you need napkins now and have the peelie, now is the time to buy them.

Make sure you stock up on your Advil for the year with this sale. Refer back to my post on how to print multiple coupons to do the deal many times!

PUBLIX 8/17, SPENT $4.07, SAVED 97%

Finally a great week at Publix! I was after more gas cards again. So far I have a total of 19! I was able to get 4 from the sandwich platter for my mom's memorial (thanks Mom!) and I was lucky to find a receipt in the cart for just shy of $50 and I got 2 with that! My husband had gone into Publix and bought some things and didn't get the gas cards so I took that receipt back also.

Today was no different. I went in with my rainchecks and virtually a coupon for every item I bought except the chicken broth. My total for everything listed below was $4.07!!! Finally a good week! This is what I bought:

20 Gerber Graduates (used RC)
2 Peanut Butter Puffs Cereal
2 Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal
2 Ore Ida French Fry (used FREE coupon)
2 Progresso Chicken Broth
1 lb. deli cheese
8 Muellers Pasta (used RC)
6 Advil
6 Softscrub
1 Publix Whipping Creme
2 Ben Gay
Cucumber

My total before coupons was just at $100 so I was able to buy 4 more gas cards!

I came home, unloaded, cooked dinner and ran out again to take advantage of the cereal deal at the beach store. Cobblestone was cleaned out so I thought I would take my chances. If they were out, I would get a RC and then use the $2 coupon this week coming up. I was able to get 12 boxes of Lucky Charms (or Yucky Charms as my granddaughter calls them) PLUS a honeydew for a grand total of $4.93. That means I paid $1.94 for all those boxes of cereal. It definitely was worth the trip back to the store...PLUS I was able to get another gas card!

FINALLY SOME GOOD DEALS AT PUBLIX NEXT WEEK

Looks like it is going to be a pretty decent week for the Publix ad starting on Thursday. My husband just told me he was getting low on V-8 juice so I will be stocking up on those!

Everyone better be stocking up on the Resolve Spray & Wash!! I plan on getting 8 of them! Nothing beats FREE! If you have the $1 peelies for the Hefty Trash Bags, this is the time to get them. They only go BOGO about 3 times a year. I will buy some more to add to my stock I already have!

The Kelloggs deals just keep on coming. With the PQ and the MQ, you should be able to get cereal, granola thins, Fiber 1 Bars, etc. pretty cheap. Stock up now for back- to-school lunches. Can you believe more peanut butter deals? Pay $1.45 for a 40 oz. jar of Peanut Butter...another back-to-school stock up item

Clausen Pickles are a great thing to get on BOGO.

PUBLIX DEGREE COUPON

Check your binders for the $1.50/2 Degree Publix Coupon. This coupon was available about a week ago and is no longer available to print. This will make for some FREE Degree Deodorant when stacked with the MQ.

CVS AND DIAPER DEAL PLUS FREE BAND-AIDS AND CARMELLO BAR

I headed over to CVS this morning to take advantage of the $2 CVS coupon and the $3 Huggies coupon available today in the smartsource insert. Save yourself the trip because CVS does not have these diapers in stock yet. There are none on the shelves nor is there a place for them. I am going to keep checking back to see if they get them in before the end of the month when the coupon expires.

I did, however, scan my cards and was able to get 2 packages of fabric band-aids and 2 Carmello bars for a grand total of $.04!! It's definitely worth the trip to get free bandages and free Carmello bars!!

Make sure when you go in to scan your cards (I scanned each card 2x) to get your FREE band-aid and candy bar coupon!

BROYHILL CHAIRS FOR SALE

A good friend of mine who happens to be a furniture rep has these Broyhill chairs for sale for $175 for all 4 chairs. If you are interested in these or know anyone who would be, please contact me and I will give you his contact information.

I know after being in the furniture industry for almost 6 years that this is a great price for chairs. You would pay more than that for one alone!

PUBLIX 8/12/11, GOT 5 GAS CARDS

Off to Publix today and as I was pulling out of the drive-way, my husband stopped me and asked me to get a Boston Butt and 2 whole chickens. The first thing I am thinking is are these on sale and how much are they going to cost. I know I paid $1 more per pound than I would have liked for the boston butt, but what could I do. The chickens were $5.50 each so they weren't that bad.

I decided to buy the Total Soft-Scrub in the spray bottle and paid more than I had originally planned. Let's just say I don't have to buy cleaning supplies now for about 2 years!!

I didn't take a picture because I was hot and sweaty and just wanted to get everything put away. I was able to get 5 gas cards which cost me $200. My meat alone was almost $27. Yikes!! Family is coming over on Sunday so I know everyone will enjoy the Beer Butt Chicken and Pulled Pork!

This is what I bought:

2 Freschetta Pizza (these normally sell for $7.69 each)
Cool Whip
2 Jello Pudding
Bananas
2 Unsweet Tea
Pie Crust
Onions
2 Chickens
Boston Butt
2 Advil
2 Sundown Vitamins
Honeydew
18 cans Chef Boyardee*
2 Cheese Its
16 Soft Scrub
1 loaf bakery bread

My total MINUS the gas cards was $61.34 including tax. Remember the meat alone was $27 and I forgot my $1 coupon at home!! This trip basically consisted of things I needed for the cookout and stock-up on items for college.

The Chef Boyardee was supposed to cost me something like $1.57 for 18 cans. It ended up costing $.86 for all 18 cans. What a great donation item if you don't eat it!! One of the coupons was for Buy 2 get 1 Free. When she scanned the coupon, it automatically took off $1.50. The Chef Boyardee was on sale for $.89 and I told her before she started ringing it up. You can just let the coupons scan and get the $1.50 back because that is what they will be reimbursed from the company and it means overage for you. She let two coupons go at $1.50 and then put the others through at $.89. I was pleased just to pay $.86 for 18 cans!!

So basically, I paid $34 for everything else minus the meat PLUS was able to get 5 gas cards to save $50!! I can't figure the percentage of savings on this trip because of the gas card deal.

I will also be able to send away for the ConAgra Rebate for $10 making my final total $24!! Not bad!

WALMART DOUBLE COUPONS??

Walmart is testing double coupons up to $1 in select markets.

The markets are: Provo UT, Boise ID, Charleston WV, Charleston SC and Tucson AZ. Unfortunately, our area is not included...but let's not give up hope!

I think we should start a petition that they should start doubling in the North Florida area! Let's give Publix a run for their money!! As much as I hate Walmart, I would go in from time to time with a stack of coupons if they doubled!

(I may be going to Charleston SC in January. I may have to run by Walmart with my coupons!!)

BOGO COUPON FOR SUNDROP SODA

Head over to coupons.com and look under Beverages for a BOGO coupon for Sun Drop Soda. These are on sale at Walgreens this week so you can get them for $.40 each. I have heard this tastes like Mountain Dew.

CHEAP TOMATOES AT LOCAL PRODUCE STAND

I was headed to the outlet mall with my daughter by way of Holmes Blvd. I have passed by there many times and have never stopped at the produce stand on the left hand side of the road not to far from 207. I saw a sign that said:

TOMATOES
2 LBS. $1.00

My family likes tomatoes...no, they love tomatoes! We used to buy them by the case but then the price went through the roof. I don't buy them at Publix because they are tasteless. Stewart's has good tomatoes but they are $1.99 per lb. I refuse to pay $1.99 a lb. and usually end up looking in the window at the bruised or damaged tomatoes that are $.99 a lb.

I was surprised when I pulled up to this produce stand to find tomatoes sold every day at $1.00 a lb. I was shocked when I found tomatoes that were not as pretty but no rotten spots. Maybe it wasn't shaped perfectly round or had a flat spot on it. These gems were only $.50 per lb.!! I bought a pail of them and paid $2.00 for 9 tomatoes! This will definitely be my go to place for produce, especially tomatoes.

I also bought peaches and they were $3 for a pail. They were delicious and I plan on going back and buying more! They also had peppers, zuchhini, eggplant, strawberries, and many other fresh veggies and fruit to choose from.

It's really not out of the way! If you love summer fresh vegetables and fruit, give them a try! You definitely won't beat the price of the tomatoes!

TIME TO CLEAN OUT YOUR BOX!

You can now safely throw away any inserts you have from May back. Keep all your inserts from June 1 forward.

PUBLIX 8/8/11, SPENT $3.64, SAVED 90%

Thanks to my good friend Margie, I was able to get another 2 coupons for the peanut butter. So off to Publix I go with my very small list. I bought:

2 Scotch Brite Sponges
Black Olives
2 Classico Sauce
2 Peanut Butter
12 Gerber Graduates

My total was $3.64. For every Gerber Graduate I bought I made $.25 in overage. The coupon booklets were sitting on the customer service desk. I was excited to see more of these because I am giving the baby food to my daughter who is expecting in the beginning of November.

If you head over to Publix, pick up some booklets (there were alot left at the beach store) and take advantage of the Gerber Graduate deal. If they are out, get a raincheck to use next week to bring your total up for the gas card deal!

BUY YOUR SOFTSCRUB COUPONS NOW!

If you saw the sneak peek of the new Publix ad, you may be excited about the Soft Scrub Cleanser with Bleach BOGO at $3.29. I have already ordered my exta coupons that I paid $.15 each for.

Go HERE and buy 15 coupons for $1.99 with free shipping. I bought 2 sets.

Even with the cost of the coupons, I will get 30 bottles of Soft Scrub for $.32 a bottle. This will be enough cleaning supplies to last over a year when I add to what I already have.

In addition to that, that purchase alone will allow me to buy 2 $50 gas cards for $40.00. I will go through my rainchecks to see if there is anything else I need to purchase to bring my total up. The new ad is not that great for me but I still have PLENTY in my stockpile to get me through!

GREAT DEAL ON PORK AT WINN DIXIE PLUS MORE

If you haven't printed the $2 off pork coupon yet, I would suggest you do so. Then head over to Winn Dixie where they have country style ribs BOGO. The sale in itself is not a good deal, but when you use two $2 coupons, they are a great deal.

I just got back and bought 2 packages for $8.93 each. I used my two $2 coupons and paid $4.93 for 2 packages! I was able to get 3 meals out of both packages. Now that's a deal!

The sale ends tomorrow, so run to Winn Dixie and stock up on some meat. Those coupons are rare but they come up every now and again.

While I was there I picked up some CoverGirl Mascara that was BOGO (Lash Blast my personal fav!) and used two $1/1 coupons from the 7/31 PG. I had to buy Waterproof this time to wear to my moms memorial on Saturday :(

If you are a fan of cherries (yum), get some at $1.99 lb. while you are there also

ARREST MADE IN THEFT OF SUNDAY PAPERS

As a result of the show "Extreme Couponing" many people are stealing newspapers. Some pay for one paper at the box and then proceed to empty it. But a lady in Springdale, AK, took it one step further. She went to a local grocery store in the evening when the papers were placed outside for pickup and she loaded them in her car! She said that she asked a cashier if she could have them and was told yes. She went back each week for 7 weeks, missing 1 week when she was on vacation. Apparently, the papers are placed outside for product accountability and were not available for anyone to take.

Eventually, according to the police report, the numbers of papers taken increased over the weeks. Their system predicts the number of papers needed for a location based on how many were returned. When no papers were returned for several weeks, the publishing company went to the grocery store because the sales figures did not match with the numbers they were scanning.

Overall, she took 185 newspapers over 7 weeks at $1.25 each. The total was $231.25.

All because of being in an Extreme Couponing Club, this lady now has an attorney bill to pay and an arrest record of a felony misdemenor not to mention the embarassment her family has to endure.

My two cents on this whole thing is that some people have taken this to levels that are unethical. When you steal a newspaper, you are taking money out of the carrier's pocket. He/she is held accountable for the newspapers. If you feel the need to get extra coupons, buy them from a reputable clipping service. That is what I do when I need extras. It is very inexpensive and you know you can put your head on your pillow at night at sleep!

Looking for cheap Advil? Between now and the end of the month, take this time to stock up on Advil 50 ct. for $1.65 per box!! This stuff usually sells for $6.65 a box. Go HERE and print a coupon for $5/2 Advil. Then stack with the $5/2 Publix coupon from the Green Adv. Flyer and pay $1.65 per bottle.

You are only able to print one coupon per computer. I was able to print several from my computer doing this:

Sign in and give all required info and print first coupon
Hit your back browser and change your e-mail address. I simply did judiwampler@yahoo.com for the first time and judiwampler1@yahoo.com the second time. Every time I printed a new coupon I changed my e-mail address and my mailing address. Make sure you don't check the boxes on the bottom so your neighbors don't get mail from Weyth! If you do this, you can print multiple coupons from just one computer!

The Advil doesn't expire until 2014, so stock up your medicine cabinet!!

PRINTER CARTRIDGES

Are you tired of going to Staples and paying $50 to $60 for HP toner cartridges? I was, so I tried this place I found on ebay. It is called toneronsell and I was totally impressed with them when I ordered my HP replacement cartridge.

When I ordered it, it came very quickly. Unfortunately, my cartridge was broken so I contacted them via email and told them. Because my ebay account is tied to an email address I never look at, I didn't know they were going to send a replacement out. During that time my husband threw out the box not knowing I would need it to send the old one back. UPS showed up at my door a couple of days later with a RMA. I had to send him away because I didn't have a cartridge to send back because I didn't have the box. I NEVER expected to get a replacement cartridge from UPS the next day. I had thrown my cartridge out NEVER expecting to get the customer service I did.

To make a long story short, I e-mailed toneronsell and offered to pay for the new cartridge. Their customer service was outstanding and I would recommend them to anyone looking to buy their printer cartridges. By the way, I only paid around $20 for a new cartridge!

NEW BARCODE ON COUPONS

Have any of you noticed the new longer barcode, called the DataBar barcode on your coupons? You may have noticed that some of your coupons look different and you may have had problems with them scanning at Publix. I know it happened to me. The cashier simply had to cover up half of the barcode to make it go through.

What this tells me is that Publix does not have the new updated system in place yet. I believe they have 6 months to get their computers updated. When they do, it will actually make the checkout process easier. When the coupon is scanned, it will encode a great amount of information like expiration dates, product specifics such as size, weight, etc.

When this is in place it will eliminate the need for the cashier to look at every coupon to see if it is expired. This should make your checkout experience quicker.

RIB EYE STEAKS AND RIBS

Rib Eye Steaks...my favorite and the only steak I will buy. Winn Dixie has them for $5.99 per pound beginning tomorrow. Make sure you buy the bone-in steak as it has a much better flavor.

While you are there, pick up some cherries at $1.99 per pound. We won't be seeing those prices for much longer and it will inch its way back up to $3 per pound and higher.

Oh!! Another good buy is the pork spare ribs at Food Lion. I must admit that I love ribs and no one makes them better than my hubby. He could open a restaurant and serve his fried shrimp and ribs! They are $1.99 per lb. and there is a $2 off coupon HERE for ribs! I just love it when we get meat coupons!

CVS 8/1/11

A girl always need more lipstick. The Revlon lipstick sale plus my ECB's burning a hole in my wallet drew me in. Since I am working off two cards, I did it in two transactions. My first transaction was 2 lipsticks, Sensitive Toothpaste, Razors, and 2 Dawn dish detergent. My OOP including tax was $3.90 and I received back $13.00 in ECB's.

I was able to take advantage of the $3 off $10 Beauty purchase as well as a $5 off $25 that printed from the magic coupon machine.

I then did the lipstick again by itself with my OOP being $2.10 including tax. I received a $6 ECB back for it.

Isn't it fun when you can get items for yourself and your famly for pennies on the dollar?

WHAT'S FOR DINNER?

This morning was hectic as I was trying to get out of the house to go to work. Before I left I was trying to think of something to have for dinner with 2 cups of leftover baked chicken. What do you do with 2 cups of cooked chicken?

I looked in my pantry and mixed the chicken with 1/2 cup salsa, 4 oz. velvetta cheese, a can of drained black beans. 1 tsp. chili powder and 1/4 tsp garlic powder. I then put one of the two flour tortilla shells in the bottom of a round casserole, put 1/2 the mixture on top, another flour tortilla and topped it with the remainder chicken mixture.

I must say myself for something that was thrown together in 5 minutes, it wasn't bad at all. I was able to use items that were from my stockpile and use the leftover chicken at the same time.

Next time I just have to figure out how to use peanut butter and Crunchy Nut Corn Flakes in the recipe as I have quite a few in my stockpile!

What are some of the creative dinner ideas you come up with for dinner with your pantry items??

COSTCO DELI MEAT

With school starting in about three weeks, use this $1/1 coupon for Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Bread from coupons.com to make a sandwich your kids will think is cool!

Speaking of sandwiches, has anyone noticed the price of deli meat? Buy a lb. of turkey and you can pay $8 per pound. If you have several lunches to pack we all know this can get expensive. My husband went to Costco last week and came home with pre-packaged deli meat. If I were there, I would not have bought it. But let's face it, when I am not there, a few more things end up in the cart.

This was one of those items I was glad he brought home. I was shocked at the price of $3.99 per pound. Each package had just over 1 3/4 lbs in it and it basically was the price of one pound if you purchased it at Publix! He bought the ham and turkey and I was pleasantly surprised!

Let's weigh the options:

1 lb. deli turkey at Publix $7.99 lb.
1 lb. fake deli turkey at Walmart $6 lb.
1.85 lb.s deli turkey/ham at Costco $7.38

Bottom line is when you go to Costco pick up some of the deli meat. It was good and it is such an awesome price. Don't pick up the granola in the bakery department because you will end up eating the whole thing!!

SCOTCH-BRITE SPONGES
